I've been watching many RUclipsrs take this train but I never knew for this double cabin before coz most of them are solo travelers..so the never review bout this cabin. Good to know 👍🏼
Amtrak could learn from the Sunrise Express as to sleeper cabins. I would like to go to Japan and take the longest ride on the Sunrise Express train. Hello from the USA.
I've ridden Amtrak before too. (Not the sleepers) I think you're right overall they could learn a lot but Amtrak trains also have their own good sides I think. Big windows, quiet cabins, big double deck space etc
This is great experience and time consuming 😍 Unfortunately, what I have read that there is no online reservation. Seat must be reserved via phone call or book upon arrival at the ticket office. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Thanks for asking! ¥22000 is the room cost. We split the cost for the twin room so ¥11000 per person. Then there’s the cost for the distance you travel. For ex Tokyo to Niimi is ¥11330. (¥9060 if student discount applied) So all together a little over ¥20k per person
I’m 100% sure that it is the last one left. But when I say last sleeper train I mean the last one operating regularly. Sunrise express runs every day. For ex, There is a sleeper train called Shikishima which JR East operates a couple times a year for roughly ¥1M ($10k) per ticket. That is absolute luxury and not public transportation. This is how Japanese people consider it a sleeper train or not
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your experience.❤
That looked like a large sleeping compartment, with a different layout then you usually see on a sleeper train. It all looked nice.
You’re right! Sunrise express got the good design award, blue ribbon award in the past. It’s a really clean and luxurious train to ride.
Very nice! It is sad that this is only one sleeper train left in Japan…
Totally agree… ride it while you can !👍

The moving slum ! 😂
@@JeremyExplores I'm not talking about the Moonlight Nagara! I'm talking about Chinese "green-skinned" trains!

22,000 yen for two is actually pretty cheap compare to shinkasen. Are there other fees on top on this?
Thanks for asking!
