Sir, can you upload a video of yourself playing soccer, basketball, kickboxing, doing leg presses, squats, various soccer drills at your maximum mobility potential? I really want to know how much does this surgery actually affects one's mobility and athleticism.
If you're worried about those things (Rightly so!) Don't get this surgery, trust me. Or if you do, get maybe 2 or 3 inches max on your upper leg. Lower leg is much less sturdy, I personally wouldn't go above an inch on it; and at that point it's not worth the expense anyway. These kids you seeing from 5'5 to 6'0, I highly doubt they will ever be able to do more than a slow awkward walk the rest of their lives.
I am 25, I am considering the procedure for the next 2 years. I have two questions that I would appreciate to be answered. - I am 5'6, can I get 6'? - How long does it take to be able to walk again completely normal? - Is there any recommended surgeon in Mexico?
I'm no expert, but I'm very cautious about things like this. In my opinion, yes you can get to 6'0 from 5'6 but you will likely never be athletic for the rest of your life and just getting back to walking without crutches will be a much bigger challenge than you can imagine. Consider yourself lucky if you're walking with no assistance at the 2 year mark. There's a chance your walk will forever be slowed and awkward. And that's if there's no complications. With a 6 inch lengthening the chance of complications multiplies exponentially versus a modest 3 inch lengthening.
Bro in one surgery if you only do femurs which is usually the go to, you’ll gain 3 inches if you’re lucky and everything goes according to plan. That means from 5’6” with only femurs you’ll become 5’9. That’s not bad being the average height for American men
Hey Cyborg, your videos have helped me a lot on this journey. I’m currently trying to better myself, you know, as someone who left home at an early age. It would be helpful if you could speak about the potential risks of using shoe lifts, such as: I've read that if worn every day, they can cause your Achilles tendon to shorten, which could actually make you shorter over time. There’s also the risk of developing a pelvic tilt, the potential for being caught and feeling ashamed, and maybe the question of how much lift is safe to use. It would be helpful to know the maximum amount of lift you should use and pair it with shoes that have thick soles, preferably with a minimal heel-to-toe drop, so you don't negatively affect your health or risk being caught. Also, based on my research, if you use lifts every day (I personally use 0.6 inches paired with thick-soled shoes, which I can even wear to the gym without feeling awkward), you need to work on your calf muscles and do plenty of stretching. Not everyone, like me, can afford a limb-lengthening solution, but with lifts, there is a fine line between being awkward or harming yourself and actually enhancing your height. I would really appreciate your help and I'm forever thankful! You give me hope, really man.

Yup safest is femurs for 3 inches. Otherwise you’d have to do tibia as well which is usually less capable of lengthening. It’s not impossible but certainly expensive, time consuming, and painful especially if there are complications.
Is 5ft8 starting height a good height for just the maximum safety length on the femurs? As well, are femurs usually the safest and aesthetic looking bone to do length surgery on? Great video boss!
Yes, the femur is larger, thicker and longer, thus often able to handle lengthening better, plus you only have to break and lengthen _one bone_ instead of two per leg for lower leg lengthening (the tibia _and_ the fibula). And yes, femur tends to be more aesthetic since your femur areas are basically always covered by shorts/pants, plus you can just wear elevator shoes or shoe lifts that make your lower leg/tibia area look an extra inch or two longer if you really need to. I'm also 5'8, planning on doing ~8cm on femur to begin with (might do ~4.5cm on tibias later just to get into that coveted golden 6ft+ zone :)
Thanks for the information. But personally I’d stop just at femurs because 5ft11/6ft range is the most optimal height in my opinion. Because you don’t have to worry about your height getting in the way of your daily life, like fitting in cars and planes. And you are way taller than the average. For appearance wise I’d just stick to 5ft11 with wearing anything, even as low as flip flops, to reach my desired height of 6ft!
@@funnyjah1807 If you're going to lengthen at all, smart choice not tampering with your lower leg. It's much less sturdy for a hard recovery like this, for many reasons. Those people getting max height doing 3 inches on lower leg 4 inches on upper, are likely never going to be athletic at all for the rest of their lives and will be able to slowly and awkwardly walk, at best. A sad reality of pushing this surgery too far; shame on any surgeon that should know better.
@@VisionQuest057you really need to lengthen tibia too becoz if you lengthn your femur only , you gradually decrease your mobilityand you will feel pain in knee in future Seriously , i heard this by a random ll patient who did another surgery after 10year on tibias
@@PersonOnEarth I definitely agree - people doing crazy-high amounts of lengthening and significantly surpassing the safe lengthening limits (max ~3 inches on femur and ~2 inches on tibias) will have a hard time with recovery and likely never be as athletic. 4 inches on upper is extreme (that's a little over 10cm!) and 3 inches/8cm on tibia is even crazier; the most I've EVER seen done was Brian the bodybuilder on LiveLifeTaller, who did 7cm on tibias - he had long tibias to begin with because he was already 6ft tall, but even then, he got ballerina feet and is still recovering like 2 + years later as far as I know. Doing both segments is fine as long as you don't over-lengthen, and ideally you use a weight-bearing nail like G-Nail, LON (not really recommended these days), Taylor Spatial Frames, or best case scenario (but most expensive): the new Precice Max.
Hey Victor. Long time no see. I have actually found a new surgical procedure labeled to be a "kyphoplasty". If you would like a link to the studies on it, let me know. I have your email. Take care - Dixon.
Hey Dixon that’s a super interesting procedure, minimally invasive, and it helps with the spinal compression I’ll have to look more into it. Thanks so much. Hope you’re well.
@ More of a reconstructive procedure for older patients. It essentially fills the spinal column with cement to prevent further degradation. It would be a nice supplemental add on to LL, especially older patients who want to circumvent height loss with age.
I had limb lengthening surgery but I was extended from my knee and not my hip. I’m having trouble sitting back on my feet, will I ever gain that flexibility back?
I guess I'm a fence-sitter. I know that limb-lengthening works, and my height dysphoria is one of the things holding me back. But I also know that I can't do it right now because I don't have the means, and I have doubts that the people in my life would support me if I were to seriously consider it.
I’m 18.5 years old I know I’m not to short I’m around 5’10 but my dads 6’4 and that’s the only thing that’s making me wanna maybe do this I have slightly longer legs but do you think 4 inches would be dangerous and I care about bodybuilding would this make it where I can’t hit legs
I would say that bodybuilding would serve you better being the height that you’re at. And if you plan to compete, I would definitely not do this now. In fact, if you do go through anything over 2 inches you would have to aim for the femur which would make squatting harder so I advise against the surgery for you. That being said many patients have gotten back to a very high level of functionality after this surgery, but many of them are not interested in bodybuilding like you and I.
Do you think someone with stunted growth due to extreme malnutrition as a child and during puberty is a good candidate and should do this? I’m not too short but it just feels like something was undeservingly robbed from me

I would be very interested to understand how the immune system deals with the removal of so much bone marrow from the femur and tibia with internal nail surgeries, and if this bone marrow and tissue will return once the nail is out. Hi Vic, I'm nowhere near as an expert on this subject as you are but common sense tells me a few things I haven't seen you mention on a video yet (granted I've only seen maybe 15 of your vids, excuse me if you have talked about it) I'd like to ask you if you agree with me that the taller you are, especially over 6 ft, the more likely you are to be crippled doing bigger amounts of lengthening 4-6 inch zone? I'm 35, 6'2 naturally and only 170 pounds and trying to run, etc I get a good amount of joint pain and even mild bone pain from the impact of running and the stress it puts on my long legs. Honestly I wish I could be shorter, 50 pounds lighter and more agile. Taller aint always better, guys. Grass always greener, etc. lol Basically, let's say a 5'2 guy and a 6'2 guy like me both did a 5 inch lengthening surgery. Biomechanically speaking the 6'2 guy is much more likely to be heavily impacted or even crippled versus the 5'2 guy on average, right? Just because the shorter guy has so much less counter leverage and forces working against him. I see all these guys commenting saying hell yeah I'm 6'1 gonna be 6'7. Sounds insane to me and probably very unlikely to ever walk properly?
Hy im 5,1 woman and I wanted to get taller since 17 but didn't gorw an inch so is it safe for a woman to do this i mean would there be any complications in future like pregnancy or etc?
I'm a combination. Main reluctance was I felt like I was finally throwing in the towel, giving into all the bullies that called me short since I was 13 or girls that would legit laugh in my face, so I put it off for a long time. I'm also not an idiot that just saw a social media post and was like "yeah that's be cool to go from 5'10 to 6'2"," so I actually researched in order to find the right doctor. But at some point you have to take the leap and just do it, otherwise it'll never happen; since there will always be reasons not to do it
Bro 5’10” is not short you’re fine. The people getting this surgery are either those with dwarfism or men 5 to 5’8”. People pay the price tag to be your height
If money doesn't matter, which one do you think is better in terms of athletic ability, increasing tibia 3cm femur 3cm or femur 6cm? I was wondering if you think low extensions are good for each or not touching the tibia at all. In terms of athletic ability
@@kkmx2277breaking your femur bone for just 3cm would not worth all the risks As in your case , i suggested to go for 6cm on femur and 4.5cm on tibias becoz if you lengthned your femur only then it might ruins your body proportion
You’d have to lengthen both femurs and tibias. Or you would have to lengthen say just femurs, let everything heal, recover, and then go back and lengthen the femurs again. Even then hitting 8 would be hard with any legitimate doctor.
Hey man quick question, where could I look into finger/toe lengthening? I'm actually comfortable with my height at 5ft9 & a half, I'm basically 5ft10 in any footwear. But I've noticer my fingers and toes are extremely short even compared to my gf who is 5ft5 (given, she is Samoan and pacific islanders are known for having big hands and feet) it still bothers me. Everyone wants to get taller but I just want my fingers and toes to be a more proportionate length to the rest of me 😂
You know to be honest with you I’m not sure. In fact I only know if surgeons lengthening fingers and toes and deformity cases and not for cosmetic reasons but I’ll definitely stay aware of if anything pops up
I have a question please, how frequent the x-ray check up should be? to monitor the amount of bone lengthening and to avoid complications such as non-union, early consolidation, axial deviation during both lengthening phase and consolidation phase?
That would be hard bro. One surgery say femurs would give you 3 inches at any safe surgeons clinic. That means you could hit 5’10”. Otherwise you also have to lengthen the tibias as well. Even after that you might have to heal, then go back in for another lengthening.
@@floundergames2152 honestly if the guy is 5’7” exactly he’s chillin. Like you said hit the gym, wear running shoes and boots that give you an extra 1 inch or 1.5 inches. Now you’re in shape at 5’8” or 5’8” and 1/2. Add very minimal facial looksmaxxing and you’re perfect @PokeMuse

At 6‘2 this is insane. This is a risk people only take because they are sick and tired of being significantly below average. I lived in the netherlands too and yes people are tall but bro you are significantly above the average european height, no need to become taller and take such risks.
@jb_998 what can be the possible risks though as I am at a perfect weight it's just height in which I am tall and weight is 190lbs.Some people I heard have increased height from like 5'10 to 6'5
@@alicea8918 6 inch increases are very rare and typically a cap. Bear in mind that this is by far the largest cosmetical intervention there is.
@@VisionQuest057you really need to lengthen tibia too becoz if you lengthn your femur only , you gradually decrease your mobilityand you will feel pain in knee in future
Seriously , i heard this by a random ll patient who did another surgery after 10year on tibias
Hey
How are u doing now?
I hope you're fine
I guess I'm a fence-sitter. I know that limb-lengthening works, and my height dysphoria is one of the things holding me back. But I also know that I can't do it right now because I don't have the means, and I have doubts that the people in my life would support me if I were to seriously consider it.
How tall are you?
What are the potentional cons of limb lengthening from 173cm to 182cm?
The same as with any lengthening.
Do you think someone with stunted growth due to extreme malnutrition as a child and during puberty is a good candidate and should do this? I’m not too short but it just feels like something was undeservingly robbed from me
There's cases where eating normally after malnutrition results in normal growth so I would say not typically necessary?
Hi cyborg i am from India my height is 174 i want 183 my wingspan 182 i can do 5 cm femur and 3cm tibia will my proportion look weird or should i do 3 cm in femur and 5 cm in tibia please reply brother
I like the first option as the femur is naturally the longer bone
@Cyborg4Life please do a interview with Dr.amar sarin and make a video about him
Please, Don't go to him, he has has crippled many people who then had to go through another surgery.
I would be very interested to understand how the immune system deals with the removal of so much bone marrow from the femur and tibia with internal nail surgeries, and if this bone marrow and tissue will return once the nail is out. If we're left with partially hollowed out bones and a weakened immune system, maybe we need to work out better methods for LL surgery?
Bone marrow form in between bones after rod removal

Hi Vic,
I'm nowhere near as an expert on this subject as you are but common sense tells me a few things I haven't seen you mention on a video yet (granted I've only seen maybe 15 of your vids, excuse me if you have talked about it)
I'd like to ask you if you agree with me that the taller you are, especially over 6 ft, the more likely you are to be crippled doing bigger amounts of lengthening 4-6 inch zone?
I'm 35, 6'2 naturally and only 170 pounds and trying to run, etc I get a good amount of joint pain and even mild bone pain from the impact of running and the stress it puts on my long legs. Honestly I wish I could be shorter, 50 pounds lighter and more agile. Taller aint always better, guys. Grass always greener, etc. lol
Basically, let's say a 5'2 guy and a 6'2 guy like me both did a 5 inch lengthening surgery.
No never , but yes there are some future complications
Where do you live? Women do just fine with 5'1"
I'm a combination. But at some point you have to take the leap and just do it, otherwise it'll never happen; since there will always be reasons not to do it
5'10 your the perfect height. why do you want to be 6'2 ? there going to be so many problems.
Femur 6cm
You cant get back 100% athletic ability after LL surgery
@@chrissoni2424 Even if it's low extension?
@@chrissoni2424 yeah But I'm curious what it's like to recover as much as possible.
Do you think femur is better than 3cm 3cm?
@@kkmx2277breaking your femur bone for just 3cm would not worth all the risks
As in your case , i suggested to go for 6cm on femur and 4.5cm on tibias becoz if you lengthned your femur only then it might ruins your body proportion
How long after the operation can you drive?
I was wondering how it’s going to affect sexual functions. Since the surgery is close to your sensitive parts for the femur
How can I gain 8 inches of height through LL?
You’d have to lengthen both femurs and tibias. Or you would have to lengthen say just femurs, let everything heal, recover, and then go back and lengthen the femurs again. Even then hitting 8 would be hard with any legitimate doctor.
Is someone here an orthopaedist to help me with some questions about a surgery I have recently?
Hey man quick question, where could I look into finger/toe lengthening? I'm actually comfortable with my height at 5ft9 & a half, I'm basically 5ft10 in any footwear. But I've noticer my fingers and toes are extremely short even compared to my gf who is 5ft5 (given, she is Samoan and pacific islanders are known for having big hands and feet) it still bothers me. Everyone wants to get taller but I just want my fingers and toes to be a more proportionate length to the rest of me 😂
You know to be honest with you I’m not sure. In fact I only know if surgeons lengthening fingers and toes and deformity cases and not for cosmetic reasons but I’ll definitely stay aware of if anything pops up
@Cyborg4Life okay my man, thank you for replying brother and thanks for all you do for this community 🙌
I have a question please, how frequent the x-ray check up should be? to monitor the amount of bone lengthening and to avoid complications such as non-union, early consolidation, axial deviation during both lengthening phase and consolidation phase?
I wanna go from 5’7 to 6’2
Hit the gym bro
That would be hard bro. One surgery say femurs would give you 3 inches at any safe surgeons clinic. That means you could hit 5’10”. Otherwise you also have to lengthen the tibias as well. Even after that you might have to heal, then go back in for another lengthening.
@@TheBoyzTurf just hit the gym bro
@@floundergames2152 honestly if the guy is 5’7” exactly he’s chillin. Like you said hit the gym, wear running shoes and boots that give you an extra 1 inch or 1.5 inches. Now you’re in shape at 5’8” or 5’8” and 1/2. Add very minimal facial looksmaxxing and you’re perfect @PokeMuse

Why are you always sitting on your videos after your surgery? We would like to see the progress of your surgery today, how are you walking and how are you moving ?

For people that have done the surgery years ago , do you just forget about it or you will always have your old height in your mind let’s say someone says you are so tall are you just thinking about your old height , do you disclose to everyone that you have done it , I really want to do it but I need the spiritual side of it do you feel guilty about it or after couple months or years you (and your family , friends) just forget about it
Guilt is a useless emotion. Best not to dwell in it. Keeps you stuck. Also why guilty? You're not harming anyone.
Don't feel guilty at all. I do still think about height alot, especially when it comes to tibia LL. However I think about it in a far less negative way since I'm about average height now.

Hey victor thanks for covering some questions of mine but i wanted to ask one more that is I am already tall something like 6'2" but i live in Netherlands where my brothers are all taller than me so i wanted this surgery to be done in femur for gaining additional 8 cm is it a good idea to get this surgery?
At 6‘2 this is insane. This is a risk people only take because they are sick and tired of being significantly below average. I lived in the netherlands too and yes people are tall but bro you are significantly above the average european height, no need to become taller and take such risks.
@jb_998 what can be the possible risks though as I am at a perfect weight it's just height in which I am tall and weight is 190lbs.Some people I heard have increased height from like 5'10 to 6'5
@@alicea8918 6 inch increases are very rare and typically a cap. Bear in mind that this is by far the largest cosmetical intervention there is. The risks are huge, just inform you on the internet or this channel. By chosing the right surgeon you can minimise those risks, but look at the limb lengthening forum what horrible outcomes many people had. Many of them will never be able to walk again. This is not a little surgery one does because he would like to get a little taller. This is a life choice which requires extensive research, commitment and a huge amount of cash.
@@jb_998 not worrying about the money though but in the channel "live life taller" there are various examples of people getting taller and they had done these type of surgeries and they are good surgeons too,and many have increased height by 15 cm and much more...and thanks for your attention too buddy ☺️
You are tall compared to average Americans and Europeans. That said if you only did femurs, that would be maximum 3 inches. You would 6’5” best case scenario. For more, you’d have to lengthen tibias too which don’t give much or come back for more surgery after healing.
