I love how peaceful and non stressful/non dramatic your videos are. It's super professional, mature, and wholesome vibes. When y'all have a problem you tackle it together with grace and a positive mindset ✨
Fabulous results! As a decorator, I sympathize when they run into any difficulty or mishap. People think that interior design is so glamorous. It’s mostly very hard work! They all have great personalities, making the videos that more enjoyable!
This space deserves an actual dining table. I also would’ve loved to see all 3 walls painted that gorgeous color. Still, this was an exciting makeover to watch!
agree, not feeling the desk, the end of the table with the storage doesn't seat people nicely and the hole at the top for cords to run down makes it really look like a desk. Great color for the desk against the dark wall color. I too like a room to be saturated in color and would have painted all 3 walls. Great plan and still looks awesome!
I feel the same way about the table not sold on it. I would think if you were seated on either side of the storage leg, you can't get close enough to the table to eat without bumping your knee or getting your legs in some uncomfortable position. Not a seat to sit for a long time to eat, chat and hang. The cord slot also seems like a hole for crumbs. Hope I am wrong or that they find a similarly shaped and sized dining table if I am not.
@Social Justice Jewelry agree with you. I actually feel a longer rectangular table would make the space feel wider too. As it is, most of the bench wouldn't get used & as you say, you can't actually sit close to the right side of the desk & couldn't put a place setting there as the wire socket circle is raised. It looks pretty but it isn't practical at all.
@@andreamalik2961 for small gatherings (4 people) it will be fine. It looks great but I agree that a bigger table would be more practical - maybe with rounded ends like the desk rather than a rectangle with corners. But I’m reminding myself of when I lived in a smallish apartment with my not-yet husband when we were much younger, and any gathering we had of more than 5 people ended up in the living room.
Everything looks gorgeous, but I do agree about the issues with using the desk as the table. I haven’t looked lately because I don’t have any more room for furniture, but I feel like article would have had a better choice for an actual dining table. It just seems like it’s gonna be really hard to get around those legs and I don’t like that hole in the top. That said, it’s a gorgeous transformation!
I'm the same regarding the desk - I thought that the bulky legs would make it uncomfortable to sit at in most positions, and don't like the cord recess. However, the couple can obviously test it out and if they need to make that one change to the space to make it work for them, it's still a fabulous transformation 🙂
I need to see their reactions to all the cool features. Like the remote lights, and the storage in the table. Like, in a lot of videos I'm left wondering how they respond to the "hidden" bonuses...
Love this makeover. Not sure why people are not liking the table. I think it was a genius move. The color alone with the lamp, the booth, the boards. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💚💚
I appreciate how Alexandra is an intuitive designer. When’s she’s sure about a design choice, like the seat cushion formation, she’s decisive. But if she’s unsure, like with the paint color, she’s confident enough to be deliberative, reflective, and take counsel from her builder and design team. #professional
Idk if it’s just cause I’m tall and I’m always thinking about leg room and how comfy I’ll be sitting in something, or if I’ll feel crowded but I kinda wish the table would have been way longer and didn’t have such big legs but at the same time the table is also so cute 😩. And it really just feels like graham knows literally everything about building and making stuff!! I wish I had his skills 🥹
Honestly having a team has meant the content has been next level. Especially grahams diys. You guys have inspired me so much with my channel and hopefully one day i can have my own team. Manifesting this
Right!!?? Imagine the additional DIY people that would be brought in if there were an instructional video of Graham's work released after the traditional makeover video.
this is STUNNING! it's such a gorgeous makeover. But i do think it deserves an actual dining table. While the desk table is very nice, it does look more like a desk table than a dining table. I think adding a more rustic dining table to this space would have completely elevated the space even more.
I don't typically like bench seating, but this looks amazing!! The only thing I would change is get rid of the fur throws, let the rattan show, it's beautiful. I also think I would have gone a touch greener with the paint. Graham is such a great addition to the channel, I also like the behind the scenes.
Wow okay this is incredible. How awesome to get to DIY peoples stuff and film it for youtube as a job, and show us all and have such a fun time doing it and give the recipients such joy. What a time to be alive
Your designs are always amazing, but this one is by far my favorite. I’ve bookmarked it for later inspiration in our new home. Graham is an MVP on your team. I’m sure the rest of ‘team AG’ are equally as important, but their talents are more behind the scenes. Team Ag hits it out of the park every week. I’ve learned so much from watching. Thank you.
Great makeover......I think you guys should do tiny houses on wheels. You could buy the shell and have Graham customize the inside to Alex's designs and they would sell like hotcakes.
Your videos have offered me so much insight and inspiration, to create design for our home! Thank you for all you do, and the simplicity and fabulous ideas you offer!
Drinking coffee and watching Alexandra Gater! Love Graham. I'm saving money to make an office and I wanted to do a board and battan wall but I love the bead board too. Getting lots of ideas. Amazing transformation.
I’ve been watching your videos from almost day one! I think you are a fabulous designer and only wish I lived in Canada so I could get a makeover! I’m 62 years old so the mid century vibes are definitely my style! Keep going strong I’m probably your oldest subscriber
67 here! Just recently subscribed and have gotten so much inspiration from these makeovers. Really appreciate seeing what miraculous things can be done to a rental to make it feel glamorous and personal. So glad I found this channel!!
I love the evolution of how the rooms are both beautiful but increasingly functional. The added bench space and shelving with the light cables in the wall were awesome. Also Graham's dog is so cute! :3
I'm I the only one who ships Graham & Alexandra? 🙈 Also, what a beautiful transformation, I loved the finished space. The color combination, style and functionality is fantastic.
It's so beautiful and amazing as usual, however the only thing I'm worried about is you can't wash the cushions from the bench. That's the only thing I would change, but otherwise it's perfect!!!! Also, I love how you did the moody room which is so different from your own style, yet somehow fits perfectly with your style!
Good point. It would likely have been too expensive to make real stand alone cushions with removable covers. But this is a rental for a young couple who might be moving on to something more permanent in a few years, so maybe that doesn’t matter.
Team AG you rock! This was such a transformation! Everything was beautiful and did give that lovely cozy warm vibe. My favorite part was the heist! LOL
This makeover is AMAZING! A total transformation. The wall, the bench, the shelving, and that color! I'd love to see the nook at night! It is stunning, and Team AG has done it again! And may I say, Graham is a genius!
Alexandra! This video inspired me to turn a mish-mash space I had off of my kitchen into an eat-in nook. I haven't styled the newly found cabinets yet and still need the right rug but I am ready to share. I repurposed a TV stand that was the perfect size and height for a bench. I made a cushion and the lamp. Everything was marketplace finds, and I now have a place to store my mcm vases and pottery. Love your videos, I'm a big fan!! ( I'm also an Ontario girl.) Not sure how to post pics!
I love, love, love this makeover!! Great job! As cool as the desk looks...l just don't know how functional the shape is for having a group sit down. But, it all looks so great and chic!! Wonderful vibe!
Alexandra, you totally got what they wanted and then some. The color of the wall and bench was spot on, as were the colors of the cushions. It turned out to be so cozy, elegant, and beautiful. You guys nailed it, again! ❤❤❤❤
That looks amazing! Comfortable to make many dinners with friends. I love the harmony of the colour, the different wood tones and patterns. Good job team AG! 😍
Fantastic job! I love this dining area. Most dining rooms are boring and under used, but this is the kind of spot I would choose to hang out in to read or chat (with a cup of tea). Alexandra’s vision, carried out and enhanced by her team (love Graham and want to see more of the rest of them) is what makes it all work. Kudos to you all! I miss James….
I think Graham needs to create a book with how-to details for all of his fabulous creations! And some slower-paced, more detailed videos to go along with it. The decorating on this channel is top-notch; but his creations are the stars of each show! TFS! 🌷
Alexandra and the AG Team......you have outdone yourselves with this makeover! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Everything looks fabulous and works together so well 😍😍🤩🤩
This is a style I've been obsessed with and am so excited to see come alive on your channel! The variety and class in the makeovers in the last year have been wild -- long time viewer who is very excited for the makeovers ahead 💫
I love this makeover. That wall is beautiful. We can see the green undertones. It’s amazing to see how that big hanging light works in the space. My only issue is the table. Not practical. With those thick pedestal legs you can’t pull up to it with a chair.
Girl this one ROCKS ... and on a side note ... I have been binge watching and LOVE the furniture source by Article. FINALLY found a couch I love after looking for 1.5 years ... LOL ... the struggle has been real!
Grahams studio is lit with flourescent lights. That will dramatically affect how the color looks. You need to see it in daylight or something closer to a home lighting situation. Keep in mind for next time.
What a terrific makeover. My favourite to date. My only concern is the grommet hole in the desk/dining table. Having worked in the office furniture business for decades I noticed it right away. Just didn't work for me. Otherwise it was a spectacular makeover. Loved the paint colour.
I was thinking the same thing. The shape and idea of it were so cool, but I wish they had done something to resurface the table to cover that. Loved everything else!
The space is beautiful. I think it would be really frustrating to sit at that "table" though when there is such little leg room!!! I think only about one person will have adequate leg space. That seems like an oversight. But I think the way it came together is absolutely stunning - the scones combined with statement pendant looks so high end.
This is my second favorite video of all time because it is a big build and dramatically changes the place in a magical way! And, @AlexandraGater , your kitchen makeover with the black and white checkered floors with the green cabinets is my most fav!!! Yes, 'I' remember that video. (Giggling) Love it!
The back wall looks good. I like it. But (had the same with the small bedroom), all the focus and energy goes into that one back wall and the other (side) walls are neglected and empty. And I think the table looks nice, but it is not really practical with the cupboard underneath it. You could sit with two people opposite each other and it would be okay, but more people and you would not know where to put your legs. It is not only about the look.
Awesome. Like the small bedroom you did, I like that the side walls are light, clutter free and give such a good contrast to keep the room from feeling too closed in. The use of the desk as a dining table is unique and I think the chairs angled just right work for dining. The lighting is perfect and finally the bench, beadboard, shelf and color just right.
Love that you did thrifting for this, now I challenge you to do an entire space with only thrifted décor & furniture but can purchase building supplies & paint but if those can be thrift then bonus points.
The “caulking” edit was fabulous! 🐔 🐓 🍗. Also now I want a bead board wall. I grew up in the 70s and paneling was a thing then. It’s funny how bead board is paneling taken to the next level. Amazing makeover.
I have watched your channel for years but this is the first time I comment but I had to after watching this episode. WOW!!! So lovely. I love the dark and moody style and hope that you do it more often.
I love that Alana's solution to get the panels up was to do a heist 😂 I sense chaos is one of her superpowers.
Alana: Chaotic Good

Lol, Graham and Alana pulled a heist. That was cracking me up. 😝
This space deserves an actual dining table. I also would’ve loved to see all 3 walls painted that gorgeous color. Still, this was an exciting makeover to watch!
Agree needs a proper dining table
@@rojapiller3444 agree for the dining table
I loved the oval table. Okay, it could be larger, but I think it's the perfect shape to easily move in and around.
agree, not feeling the desk, the end of the table with the storage doesn't seat people nicely and the hole at the top for cords to run down makes it really look like a desk. Great color for the desk against the dark wall color. I too like a room to be saturated in color and would have painted all 3 walls. Great plan and still looks awesome!
well gosh I didn't realize I was going to enjoy that special moment in every video where the tape is slowly removed from the edge of paint
I think that's the best part of painting. I was hoping they'd show it and they DID!
Absolutely gorgeous!! The desk as a table I'm not quite sold on as not keen on the slot for wires in its surface, but apart from that it's gorgeous!
I feel the same way about the table not sold on it. 100% missed opportunity here. A bigger table can be more functional and comfortable.
When AG said “bird”… no honey, the Kiwi is an icon 😂 🇳🇿
It was literally just as cozy to have dinner and drinks in there as Hannah wanted!! Such a GORGEOUS space ❤️

I did NOT understand the fur. I mean, you are going to be eating there and likely spilling food and getting dirty. Fur pillows make zero sense.
I LOVE that you thrifted for this makeover. I hope to see more of it on this channel. Hell yeah to sustainable choices!
How I miss these videos... Been waiting like crazy...
