    Love this!! Also, the balance of having an exceptionally strong body in whole yet no part is too "big" or "heavy" is just unbelievable and so lovely!
    Getting a "happy rush" out of hearing that MS was the gamechanger of fitness in F1 as he's always been and still is my F1 hero!

      Sorry, but schumi was miles ahead of anyone until that point. On a bicycle he could go toe to toe with olympic cyclists at one point.

    Informative. Only that he said that F1 was as physical as in the 80's, 90's as it is now which is simply not true.

      I dont really think non f1 drivers are really able to judge this statement.

      Depends, back then you needed more strength in your arms and legs, nowadays you need more strength in your neck due to higher Gs

    Why they have to be light?

    • @ezypezy8747
      @ezypezy8747 6 лет назад +37

      jos7ify The less weight added to the f1 car the better. Weight slows down and in a sport where a 1/10 of a second can be a pole change, you have to eliminate all factors slowing your lap times down

      A part from the very basic weighting more equals less acceleration, downforce is more efficient the less weight it has to stand, explained very simply a car with 800 kg of downforce and weighting 400kg will be able to take turns at higher speed than a car with 800 kg of downforce at 700 kg

      Although, I have to point out that all the cars are brought up to the same weight with ballast (a weight added to the base of the car) so there are no advantages in terms of acceleration etc in Formula 1. But, in Formula 1 the advantage you get is having more ballast to play with. Ballast can be added to the front/rear of the car etc to help fine-tune the steering and brake balance. That's the real advantage you get in F1 of having a light driver. Hope that helps! :)

      It started out with Jochen Neerpasch of BMW Motorsport's DTM racing team in 1973, where he stated that a "Prepared car needs a prepared driver."
      He then set up training camps for the drivers to improve stamina and concentration.

      Nascar training is similar but f1 training is more intense to handle the Gs of braking and cornering

      Renard Soro yeah i dont know about that but shouldn't they be bigger if he's driving f1? and muscles grow when they're used a lot and hard, right? I dont study muscles or anything so i dont know that much about muscle types or anything.

      @@acupofbleach8975 you look at f1 drivers and they aren’t built like a brick house. just because they have to stay as light as possible so they can’t be big.
