Race car drivers are athletes and therefore 8-12% is the typical “ideal fat percentage”. Being leaner does not help if u can’t concentrate. Imagine racing a car while sitting at 5% bodyfat. Another thing is it’s not useful info to go by their avg. HR during the race as what they maintain is based on the percentage of their max HR and their anaerobic threshold. 190-205 is not the avg. HR of 99% of the racers. That’s not even the avg HR or an Olympic marathon runner or cyclist. It would be physically impossible to race a car during a race at a HR that high of is above your anaerobic threshold as you would not even be capable of concentrating fully at that intensity. My all time highest HR for 90 min is just over 160 bmp during an absolutely torturous bike ride. I rarely even maintain a hr over 180 for more then a few minutes when going all out on a hot day. 👍👍👍

Hey Will, this might be a little bit of typing.. I just wanted to leave a comment since I've been binge-watching your content. I'm on the second weight loss journey of my life. At 17 yrs old I was 550+lbs(my doctor's scale stopped there, probably closer to 600lbs.) I lost my dad due to morbid obesity, he was closer to 900lbs. After that, I ended up changing my lifestyle completely so I didn't become like him. I lost 270lbs and got down to 280lbs. Unfortunately, bad eating habits crept back in and I got back up to 430lbs as of 2 months ago. Anyways, my point is your videos have been super helpful to me. I've learned quite a bit and laughed while watching your content. You're amazing. As of today, I'm down 40lbs in 2 months. I'm doing it healthy with biking, dieting, intermittent fasting, and hiking with my best friend who got weight loss surgery on Dec 31, 2019. I am very proud to say that he is now under 200lbs! He started at around 385lbs. Thank you for the great content, information, and sense of humor. I can't appreciate it enough. Joseph.

Tip from an endurance athlete here! Try and breathe less heavily through your mouth and try to breathe deeper through your nose during running/cardio sessions. Ik it's a bit difficult/uncomfortable at first, but progressively you'll begin to have better control of your breath/heart rate. Love your content! Keep it up :) !
Will and Greg are definitely motivation for me. So far I've lost over 20lbs, and all of my PRs have doubled. Every time I don't want to go to the gym I listen to Greg tell me I look like poop and Will do something he doesn't want to do. Then I realize I'm just being lazy.
Will you didn’t mention that f1 cars don’t have power assisted breaks so the breaking comes from the drivers exerting more force on the pedals can be around 125kg of foot pressing power needed for full breaking. Almost like doing a leg press at each corner. Also the force they get on their necks from having an open cockpit travelling at 300+ km/hour they need to do a lot of neck training. Fyi marmite is trash Vegemite is waaayyy better!!

I was reading the f1 car guidelines and heard some drivers talking about it saying they can’t have big bulky upper bodies as they need a low Center point of gravity in the cars and they need to have strong legs for breaking so most of their strength is in their legs and neck. Fun fact formula 1 drivers are in an almost laying down position in the cars not seated upright.
before this pandemic, I used to go out on long rides on my road bike every weekend and ride out my centuries in a fasted state and cramps usually was an issue since, I'm just running on my own body fat and plain water... So, my electrolytes gets low too. I was able to fix my cramps sipping through a combo of 1/4 tsp. of Pink Himalayan salt and 1/4 tsp. of Black Himalayan salt and 1/8 tsp. of baking soda diluted in a 1.5L of water.(750ml*2 squeeze bottle) during this long haul sessions. never cramped up since using this... hope this would help out with your cramps...🤙

More electrolytes will help with the cramping! The coconut water works because it contains 3 of them, but it sounds like it’s missing the most important one which is sodium. I take pink salt tablets right before a workout (about half a teaspoon worth) and it seriously makes a huge difference with cramping/headache, as well as performance during a workout. It sounds weird but seriously look into it and try it out! It changed my life and my workouts are so much better now.

Try taking magnesium daily for cramps. it was an absolute game-changer for me. I could barely finish my workouts at the track, but after starting to take it, my cramps stopped happening

if you are cramping, go for pickles for fast release. resaerch isnt clear exactly, but it seems to ease out the nerves. all the ultramarathon ers do this. getting minerals from coconutwater is a better longterm solution though.
