Great video and informative on installing a poe ptz camera when me and my wife get our first home I'm going for hikvision darkfighter poe ptz camera with Indigovision controller and recording
Great video and thanks for sharing. Did you pre drill with the same size drill bit as the concrete screws? I’m having to adapt a corner plate for a Reolink camera. Not enjoying it so far. They should make their own corner bracket!
The pre drill bit is slightly smaller than the screw size, it’s indicated on the concrete screw box what size drill piece to use for the pre drill. They are a nightmare corner brackets aren’t they, they should make them more universal
Great video but what happens with the other cables? Don't you have to connect them, why are they there? Is the data and power for the camera supplied via POE? And do I still need a server from HikVision and if so which one do they have?
These special screw bolts use a 10mm drill hole, then the screw threads themselves are around 12mm, when you drive it into the wall it secured itself in place by sort of grinding it’s own hole into the brick. They can take extremely heavy loads.
You drilled both the concrete screw bolts on the right into mortar. For this job you really should have used 4 anchor bolts instead. Especially for a PTZ on an exposed corner at that height.
It does invalidate any warranty you’ve got. It is a custom/bespoke feature that we’ve added ourself. It was easy for us to do as we specialise in electronics
@@HikVisionGuruCan you make separate video on installing laser and show us a demo of how it works. Most interesting part of this video which caught my attention
hi there i have a large outdoor open space i would like to cover and will be exposed to sea water as it is near the sea, which camera would you recommend and what NVR server should i get if i'm only looking to run 1 camera. I don't have the technical knowledge you do so if there was only a power supply and ethernet cable options near the camera would this be suffice. Many Thanks.
You can run just a camera with a microSD card if you prefer not to purchase an NVR. You can have it record on motion event only instead of continuous to save on storage space. You would just need an IP camera, a POE injector (or a poe switch) to power the camera and to transfer its data, you would then hook this up to your network. I would recommend any HikVision camera, as long as you properly maintain it by giving it a thorough clean every month. Anything above 4MP is the norm. For example a DS-2CD2347G2-LU 2.8mm, or DS-3CD2346G2-iU 2.8mm
Hey! It isn’t a small camera for sure, it looks the part, it looks commercial, you would be scared if you saw it. People always compliment it, but depends on your personal opinions and where exactly it is being fitted
If you’re in Nigeria you are best off going to a metal works there as it will be very expensive sending one over from here. Youll want to draw a diagram and they’ll make a bespoke bracket
It’s not a bad 4MP 25x zoom ptz camera, has 100 metre night vision, has intrusion detection etc, doesn’t have smart tracking or AcuSense. But all depends on your requirements
@@HikVisionGuru I've goy a DVR and currently have trouble with the connection using the pre made coax BNC/rs cable. The PTZ doesn't really respond like it should, sometimes it works fine but there's times where it doesn't. My question is to make the connection better with no issues, would I need to get rid of the pre made coax and use video balun with rs connector and cat6 connection
Good evening Ollie! Good shout changing to HikVision. This PTZ is a big camera, it is a DS-2DE7A232IW-AEB, the built in red laser isn’t standard, it’s a bespoke fitment that we fitted for when it auto tracks people, a red laser is on their bodies. The camera is 4MP in resolution. Has the audible voice alert and strobe function, built in AcuSense.
Hi Terry, it isn’t a specific “ColourVu” series camera, however it does work very well in low level illumination. It has the strobe light and audible warning acting as an active deterrent. I can get you the product code if you want it. However does not come with a sniper laser like mine ;)
@@HikVisionGuru hi yes please. And what do you reckon to the colour vu plz by hikvision? Hikvision DS-2DE3A400BW-DE(F1)(S5) 4MP POE AcuSense ColorVu Dome PTZ Camera Mic thanks
@@terryfouldsfishing8081 Hi Terry, ah yes it is a decent camera, however as a ptz it is lacking optical zoom, it only has a 16x digital zoom, so if you wanted to zoom in on anything you are going to struggle. However overall quality is still very good but would use in areas where zoom is not required. The product code of my camera is DS-2DE7A232IW-AEB(T5), it is 2MP however they do also do a 4MP version. It has decent low light images, strobe and audible alert, smart tracking etc.

??
POE (Power over Ethernet) enables you to send data and power through the ethernet cable as long as it is plugged into a swith or NVR with POE ports.
Great detailed video! Exactly what I’m doing as a DIY’er.
Thankyou Kindly.
Oh! How the hell did you fit a laser?
Good to hear! Ooo that’s a secret for now, it is just a laser pointer wired in. Does void your warranty!
Great video as always...no need for wall plugs for the screws??

Can’t help going into the mortar there. It’s just where the holes lined up. I’m sure it’s still very secure
To be honest i swung from the bracket to make sure and im a big chunk. It was on my house so wasn’t overly fussed
How difficult is to add that laser feature you used in this camera? Never heard of it

Tk you! I just have a house on the ground floor. I want to put it in a corner but I think that given the size, it will be imposing@@HikVisionGuru
Pls how can l get it and how much will it cost l am in Lagos Nigeria
How long an extension arm you need?
Like two meters

Pls how or what can l use to Extended the pole if l want to do so
You would need an aftermarket extension arm as Hik don’t do an official extended arm other than the ones shown in the video

On an IP system no, all data is sent via the ethernet connection
