    I’m trying to figure out how many pounds of torque I need to put on an f23a Honda engine with these upgrades...
    *ARP Head Bolts
    *Bisiesdo head gasket
    *22 pounds of boost
    *After market pistons and rods
    *Block Guard

      It made just under 300. From what I’ve heard, log manifolds eventually just plateau as far as power. But this was my first engine build, and first turbo car, so I didn’t wanna go too crazy. I may upgrade the turbo, manifold, intercooler in the future and try for over 400. The good thing is I didn’t cut corners and built the engine’s internals for more power if I ever decided to upgrade.

      I've heard you can use an H22 trans that'll bolt directly to the F23a engine so you can be cool and have a limited slip diff

      If you want good gearing for acceleration like a GSR but better Highway mileage is to get the T2T4 but it is a tight ass fit, it is pretty much identical to the GSR gearing other than final drive which actually would he betyer to use the accord final drive, I suggest you do a lot more research before goung past an air filter

    Hey bro, have a 2001 4 door f23a4, what is a good starting point in modifying my accord? Intake, exhaust and lowering was my first thought, and new slot drilled rotors... what do you think?

    • @nathanlyons6008
      @nathanlyons6008 6 лет назад

      The only bolt on mods you can do without modifying the engine are pretty much intake and exhaust, but they truly only give you 5-10 hp. You can always do brakes and suspension too.

    • @nathanlyons6008
      @nathanlyons6008 6 лет назад

      Cross drilled rotors are nice, I have Stop Tech’s drilled and slotted all the way around and EBC red stuff pads. More expensive performance pads make a heck of a lot more difference.

      I added the AC lines back in after I knew where everything was going to be positioned, so yes. I did delete power steering though and ABS. Not because they'd be in the way, just because I wanted a cleaner bay.

  • @matt8248
    @matt8248 7 лет назад

    Did you add a turbocharger to that F23A4 ULEV or did you do an engine swap and are you an automatic transmission or manual

    • @nathanlyons6008
      @nathanlyons6008 7 лет назад

      It's a manual and it was the A4 yes. There's not much different between the A1 and A4, same block, head, internals, etc. The emissions stuff may be different, but the tune cut alot of those out anyway.

    • @cylecawthon4209
      @cylecawthon4209 7 лет назад +1

      Matt Dubinsky the a4 uses a restrictive exhaust manifold and a different type of o2 sensor. i have a 02 accord ex. it had a f23a (jdm variant of the a1) but that motor gave up on me so i got a a4 for 100 with a prelude transmission the combo only has 80k on it

    • @nathanlyons6008
      @nathanlyons6008 7 лет назад +1

      They are off the shelf rods from Molnar. They make them for the F23. And the pistons are K20 pistons, which fit ours.

    • @nathanlyons6008

      The rebuild, soup to nutts, cost me just under $13K. However, that includes everything from new bolts and alot of new parts that I probably didn't need to replace. Literally almost every bolt in the engine bay that you can see is new. Alot of money was spent on the engine's internal parts, the machine work, the tune and the computer. I wasn't in it to make a budget build, I've had this car for 13 years. It has a lot of sentimental value to it. The car's been built to take abuse. Currently I'm running about 18 psi, making 282hp. Considering A better flowing manifold and bigger turbo are in my future plans, and have no doubt I can push that number to 350-400, which is far plenty on a street car. I never intended this to be a race car. I am new to boost, so I didn't want to go crazy and blow the thing up. I wanted a nicely looking, reliable car which is capable of making power. So to answer one's question, whether it was worth it. I guess it's all in who you ask. To me, it sure was and thensome.

    Nice build though. How much power u made? I know the piston and rods for that motor are freaking expensive.

    • @nathanlyons6008
      @nathanlyons6008 7 лет назад +3

      At the end, I made just under 300. The log manifold pretty much tops out at 300 and just can't make anymore. I'm going to be getting a bigger turbo soon and custom manifold soon.
