Stock F23A1 can push 160whp with intake, header, exhaust, H22 throttle body, and intake manifold inlet port matched to the TB. Adding the K pistons to that would probably send it to the moon.

Crower made 1000hp I beam rods for F23, discontinued but that was the best rod on the market at the time. I did 400whp on 12 valve mode with my heavily built 2.4L F23 years ago. Im building two F23s, one to make 800whp on those Crower rods, an another to attempt to break the 1000whp mark, saenz custom rods and traum pistons. My turbo setup can easily hit that target, just need to upgrade the turbo to a 6870 from the 6266.

The F23 is the build of the future. B series vtec builds are getting expensive and K series is creeping up. Even good Z6 blocks are getting hard to source. IIRC the you can slap an h22 head on the f23 and the F23 is the most selling honda engine ever.

Man I’m glad I found this video. I have a f23a1 and this just helps me in the direction I need to get going on for my build. Once again thank you for this video!

Hey man great video brother I been waiting on this one for the longest also I got a f22b1 and is pretty much interchangeable with the h23a1 like intake and exhaust and rods but the h22 is smaller.

F23's stroke is its biggest limitation regarding Na power especially if talking 200hp then there's the head flow itself though being vtec if no head work done then rpm will be restricting factor not that's its not possible but without arp rod bolts and good set of rod bearings at min then reving it anywhere north of 6k is short lived, aside from boosting it, and again stock rods are weak point if boosted, guess depending on power level tune quilty and most of person driving it understanding this specific motor of pro/cons possible bone stock bottom end on boost, but with majority of us honda fans love rpm and is where f23 has tremendous potential if only performance part options existed, also think s2k pistons might also work not sure exactly though , g23 is usually the N/a route with f23 but 95mm stroke and 8000+ rpm personally doesn't equal reliable 😂, but cant say for a fact cause anything is possible.

I am trying like mad to get my build together for my F23 Accord. it's an 01 automatic. I am a transmission builder and am building the BAXA all out with upgrades and updates as well as LSD and 3200rpm converter. I've sunk about $3k into the trans thus far on a 500hp build however my target hp is only 300whp. Next is the motor. I tore it down and it is beautiful (it had no issues operating). Cross hatch all the way up and down the cylinders. Compression was already great. Checked all valves and they seal perfectly still. Now what? Can I reliably handle 300whp on factory f23 pistons? I don't personally want to run 11:1 I would rather stay close to 9.5:1 with boost... However forged pistons are $900 per set. Would I be safe with factory pistons (re-ringed), H-beams and studs? I build transmissions and diesel engines for a living and this is my first Honda motor. I come humbly for your opinion! lol

Factory pistons ringlands break. Not enough meat between them.

im still mad at myself for not doing a f23 build. i built a f22a6, 2 f22b1's and i alwats wanted to build a f23 after owning 2 2000 accords. They are way better than a D i know that much! but tranny wise way too long of a ratio.

My go to brands are either ACL or Kings. For a sub 500whp build I’d say you can use non race bearings if ya want.

The F23 is very easily one of the best engines Honda has ever built, including the head. NA F series can make K series power for less money. "G swaps" are a massive waste of time and money.

The H series head is an upgrade. Why would a G series be a waste?

I agree, I build my G23vtech, the torque is incredible, G 23 high recommended

I have a question if you have a minute to spare.... Have you ever heard of a "turbo" that is on the "exhaust side" sucking the exhaust from the cylinders, in combination with a regular "boost" making turbo?.. In other words, boost on intake side and vacuum on exhaust side. The closest I could find to this idea is a Pressure wave turbo. Thank you..
