What I love most about Lobo is that he's Superman's opposite in nearly every meaningful way so I would love to see their interactions some time in the future of the DCU
Mamoa is the most Lobo-est human I've ever seen, so the casting is a no-brainer. I like his inclusion here as well since Lobo is best in small doses - I wouldn't want him as the lead of a film, but as a scene stealer who pops in and out a few times to cause a ruckus, he could be a lot of fun. And since he's a bounty hunter, there's no real motivational development needed for his character and he doesn't have to carry the weight of being the *main* antagonist. (while of course still remaining the Main Man)
Overall, it was really solid. Definitely should've been more recognized. The show's version of Doomsday was really dope and seeing a live action Brainiac that looked really good, IMO, was awesome. Second season was better than the first (not that the first was terrible) and I thought it improved quite a bit. I'm still pissed the show got cancelled after we got that cool reveal of a cliffhanger going in to a season 3. I mean, we couldn't get a third and final season?
Lost the bet with my dad about if Midnighter would appear in a movie before Lobo, but other than that I'm hella happy. Momoa's an amazing fit for him, and I'm excited to see the Main Man on the big screen.
The Big Fraggin Compendium (which collects a lot of his early run I reference in the video) is definitely the most bang for your buck! I highly recommend starting there!
Jenna your videos are the most beautiful and interesting, you are the true voice of DCU❤I'm so excited to see Jason Momoa as Lobo and I hope that project they had in the past with Guy Ritchie can find a way to come back somehow, as Guy Ritchie is probably my favorite director! I can see him doing a Lobo series or the Authority movie, he would nail it
I don't know if I would classify Omega Men Lobo as a "straightforward villain", he was still a violent bounty hunter and he helps the Omega Men at certain points
Don't know Lobo. Looked him up, the image that popped up, it's uncanny. I can so see it. Great casting choice. Love Momoa, so I'll be watching for sure
I think we can all say this seemed pretty inevitable. In so far as...if they were going to use this character any time soon, it would be Jason Momoa, and if he were to appear in any of the greenlit projects, S:WoT would be the most likely, given the setting. This all falls under no-brainer, and I'm only surprised it took this long to be announced.
Love the casting. It'll be tough for Margot to go but it's time. We're gonna need a new Harley for this new DCU, especially with her ties to that joker she unfortunately got shackled with. I bet that's her biggest regret in all this, that she was cast with Leto. How great would it'd been to see her bounce off a great joker performance. Ah well, time to move forward. This Lobo casting is a prime example.
Hi Jenna i wanted to ask, since the teen titans movie are being developed on DC studios, there has been a lot discussion about the team roster and theres many version of it on liveaction, comic and animation. i would like ask what is your take for the members of the DCU version of teen titans
I’m now just getting this news! The only things I’ve seen are most of his onscreen adaptations, including this DCAU web series that I’ve yet to see Watchtower Database bring up!
Jason Momoa definitely has the vibe to play Lobo, and he'll play him just fine. However, I'm still pretty upset about his arrival in the DCU regarding the behavior he had towards Amber Heard during the filming of Aquaman 2. For those who don't know, pages of Amber Heard's psychologist's diary were leaked last year thanks to pro-Johnny Depp masculinists, and among those pages was Amber Heard's testimony about Momoa's absolutely inappropriate behavior (the fact that pro-Depps left these words in the leak proves that it's not fake, as it discredits Momoa). Heard describes Momoa as having turned up on set one day (or several?), drunk, dressed like Johnny Depp to mock her and demanding that she be fired, with the simple argument that she was in court against Depp at the time. You may think it's not a big deal, but this behavior is objectively misogynistic, totally unprofessional and inappropriate. If Depp had been on the film instead of Heard, would Momoa have turned up drunk, dressed as Heard and demanding his dismissal? No, most likely not, because he's a man and because he's Johnny Depp. Momoa's behavior ranks alongside the filthy masculinists who attacked Amber Heard for the simple fact that she was a woman going through a trial accusing her husband of assaulting and raping her. Momoa, like the rest of the world, didn't have to believe her, but he could also leave her alone and respect her, as he surely would have done with Johnny Depp. I would have hoped that with James Gunn's DCU, which turns out to be rather open-minded (easy to be more open-minded than Zack Snyder, you'll tell me haha), fewer problematic actors and actresses (as writers, directors, etc.) would have been involved in the projects to make way for more representation, respect, talent yet to be discovered and fewer well-known, already-rich assholes. For me, this is the DCU's first mistake, because it doesn't condemn people who behave in an insulting manner, and leaves the field wide open for them to perpetuate themselves in this industry and our society.
Really Hoping they dont FRAG this up! Lobo is My Fav! And they better give both Keith Giffen and Alan Grant a Mention somewhere, cause if they don't....Little Jimmy Pew Pew can go Frag Himself Right OFF!
Admittedly, haven’t been the biggest fan of Momoa. His script choices haven’t been the best and he doesn’t necessarily seem to play a lot of different characters. He’s either hyper serious action star, or dude-broy comedy action star, despite that one Netflix fantasy film in the middle. However Dante in Fast and Furious 10 (a thoroughly mediocre movie) was a major shift in his role choices. Genuinely the best part of the movie because of how he portrayed the character, especially his physicality, which I think will translate perfectly to Lobo. Just hope they let him keep the cigar. Don’t smoke kids, but it’s the coolest imagery in comics.
i love the dcu and how they give creative control to the people to make the best adaptation possible and giving female writers the spotlight they deserve
I'm wondering if Lobo might be the antagonist of the movie. Rather than some random space pirate dude that kills Ruthye's dad, it could be Lobo. He's a well known character and definitely a Supergirl-level threat. Or he could fill the LaBoeuf roll, although as a bounty hunter rather than a law man.
What I love most about Lobo is that he's Superman's opposite in nearly every meaningful way so I would love to see their interactions some time in the future of the DCU

No-brainer for everyone except the last regime...
I really hope Lobo gets a show with a Peacemaker-like intro where everyone headbangs to Dragula. With only Lobo showing emotion.
I remember Lobo from the Superman TAS. Brad Garrett was perfect. My Man! is gona play The Main Man! This should be a blast to witness. 🤘
It makes me so happy when someone who really wants a role gets it!! And I loved the Krypton shoutout!
Glad to see Krypton get a shout-out. That series was so good and tragically overlooked.

Jason is going to kill it as Lobo!🤘
He literally looks like a Bisley LOBO, and the humor of Alan Grant's LOBO is already in him.
Momoa as Lobo?? I can't believe it came true!! This has to be one of the most perfect castings ever.
Gunn’s already bringing the weird back to comic book stories and I’m here for it!
He will most definitely have his own movie
Oh sweet! New sub. I saw you on another channel and can’t remember where. You’re a gem though, all the best!
I wasn’t surprised by it. Fans have been teasing the idea for a while.
The fan film of the paramilitary special is magnificent
I'm happy Jason will be coming back! I think he'll do a great job.
Perfect fit with Jason and Lobo... I think he will help bring butts in the seat for the supergirl movie.
Lost the bet with my dad about if Midnighter would appear in a movie before Lobo, but other than that I'm hella happy. Momoa's an amazing fit for him, and I'm excited to see the Main Man on the big screen.
I would love some Lobo suggestions. I really dunno much about him, and would love to know where to start
The Big Fraggin Compendium (which collects a lot of his early run I reference in the video) is definitely the most bang for your buck! I highly recommend starting there!
*Finally confirmed officially!*
🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽
Great video 👏🏽👏🏽
Krypton show was so great! Came and went, no-one talks about it 🥲
You teach me so much. So happy to be excited for DC stuff
Curious to see how you fit him into this story.
Can’t wait for this movie, though.
Perfect casting at some point lobo has to knock heads with superman

Im so fraking ready for this shit

I always just assumed that when it's time for Harley to join the MCU Margot can come back and play the character again if she wants to.
thank you luxuriously haired comic book lady
Finally perfect casting.....,

Margot is the face of Harley Quinn brand until somebody replace her.
Love the casting. It'll be tough for Margot to go but it's time. We're gonna need a new Harley for this new DCU, especially with her ties to that joker she unfortunately got shackled with. My main man is playing the Main Man!!
Its funny cause i was just thinking about the video he posted a while back and was wanting some follow up or payoff
The main man returns

What happens to Aquaman though?
The main man!
Cool video girl

Lobo sucks, so does Momoa
