+Sydney O'Bier ,,Hell Yes,, So Underrated !! This song gave me the Chills as a Teen. Hanging near Logan Airport, Watching Jumbo Jets Take Off and Looking at THE STARS. Stoned of course.. Awesome Tune and Album .
Midnight Star Thanks.. I miss doing that. It was so Freaking Awesome. Hanging out down near Revere Beach. Lying on the beach just watching the sky. Then one of them Monster Jets takes off. I swear it felt like you could reach up and touch em. They would come in low too, just a few hundred feet up. I think ? Kinda funny. My youngest of 3 kids is almost 25 but I used to take them when they were young and they loved it. I think they still go. Cool times, Cool Tunes, Decent Weed and at the Beach. Didn't get much better than that. Thx, T. B.
It was 1977. I was sitting in my cab waiting for fare when this song came over the airwaves and I was in awe. After my shift ended, I headed down to the local record shop (Yeah, they had them back then) and bought the cassette and wore it out. Foreigner: "Don't ask us where were from. Ask us where were going."
They've had a ton of hits but this was their early work and I still count among the best on the list. The harmonies in the chorus and the chord progression are out of this world.
My very first concert was a Day on the Green in 1978. AC/DC, Van Halen, Pat Travers, Forigner and Aerosmith and of course they played this one. Good times.
This album stands out in a great time for new rock and roll music (about 1977). I still remember first time I heard this. One of my friends had picked the 8 track up and a bunch of us drove around smoking weed and drinking beer in his SS Nova checking out this new band/album release. I was freaked out how good it sounded, especially this tune.
This is my absolute favorite Foreigner song! It seems as though it didn't get as much airtime as the other songs (the entire album was great). Definitely underrated. The thing I really like about it, besides the fact that it's a great tune, is that it's a pure rock song you can take a ride on and really enjoy. It's also a rare lead vocal by Mick Jones. Foreigner's music isn't too hard or too soft-- it's just right. And it's tasteful; not dark or controversial.

A departure from the standard love-hate-jealousy-envy love songs, the band took a big risk putting this on their debut album. It had to be good. I doubt it got enough radio play to chart. I had this album in vinyl in the 1980s, I think my uncle gave it to me around 1980-81.
heard this tune lastnight for the first time in 25 yrs or longer, as a kid ive always loved this song and had no clue till just now this was Foreigner. Holy cow what a masterpiece! Great job Foreigner!!!
Get over it, Bree X, think about what you posted on universally observed "Social Media." I still harshly adhere to MHO that there are many popular bands that would be more deservingly enshrined into Country, Rap/Hiphop, and, most relevantly, Rock HOF, though I don't object to Foreigner as such. I still believe that Starrider rises to an unusual level of musical genius and will now revert to Ballad of Linus and Lucy in Holiday spirit! I wish you well as we hurtle to a New Year! Be Well!

thedarkhorse100 same thing for me had the chorus in my head for years finally looked up starrider and couldn't believe I forgot it was foreigner!
Favorite Foreigner song EVER!
Unbelievably awesome
A departure from the standard love-hate-jealousy-envy love songs, the band took a big risk putting this on their debut album. It had to be good. I doubt it got enough radio play to chart. I had this album in vinyl in the 1980s, I think my uncle gave it to me around 1980-81.
heard this tune lastnight for the first time in 25 yrs or longer, as a kid ive always loved this song and had no clue till just now this was Foreigner. Holy cow what a masterpiece! Great job Foreigner!!!
Yes it is a Beautiful Song!!!!💝💝💝💝💝
Every so often, a moderately good band pulls off a stellar masterpiece! This is a prime example of such.
Chris Collins foreigner was well beyond moderate. Not an opinion. Just a fact.
FACT. well, how do yu MEASURE that FACT???????????????????????????????
Get over it, Bree X, think about what you posted on universally observed "Social Media." I still harshly adhere to MHO that there are many popular bands that would be more deservingly enshrined into Country, Rap/Hiphop, and, most relevantly, Rock HOF, though I don't object to Foreigner as such. I still believe that Starrider rises to an unusual level of musical genius and will now revert to Ballad of Linus and Lucy in Holiday spirit! I wish you well as we hurtle to a New Year! Be Well!
Chris Collins can’t be moderate with being so well known among the population
Every so often, a moderately good band manages to sell 80 million records (37.5 million in the US).
playing and singing this tonight at an open mic in my home town...last minute tuneup
