      Primoz stick to Vuelta, Pogi can take the Tour. Then Slovenia has two shirts. You can still compete at UCI WC or Tour de Slovenia :)

    Primoz has to be the hot favorite after today… many people did question marks behind his form due to his lack of preparation, but this man is a real fighter and seems to proof them all wrong. Feeling very happy for him after another disappointing tour (for him, not for the team) tho

    In the last climb the bonus seconds and the kom points where in the same gate, but Alaphilippe and Roglic got confused with the first one, which was the 15km to finish gate

      Though I think the jury might have took the first gate. We don't see the line on the ground, but I think the Bahrain rider was within the top 3 at that point, but they didn't place him (Rogla, Alaf, Vine got points/boni)

      @@MarvinWestmaas I think it's like the above comments said, they'll let some breakaway rider take it. Never hurts to nab a few bonus seconds on your gc rivals in a race parcours as mild (by these guys standards) as this one.

    With Serry and Devenyns I get why they got dropped (sneaky extra “rest day” to be good in the next stages) but Ajusso and Higuita should be there

      Yeah, and neither of them might be good at the sudden accelerations/steep sections? Considering Masnada finished in the group of the sprinters, either something is wrong with him or he was meant to lose time and save himself.

      Exactly. I watched the last kilometer a few times. I couldn't find Evenepoel within the first 30 riders when they were half a kilometer from the finish. Still finished eight. Must have flown uphill

      And I think you are right - deserved, was not the right word for me to use.
      There is normally no gifts in cycling, which is totally fair. Keep trying and keep losing is the beaty of cycling.
      Mads Pedersen didn't deserve anything.
      It would have been so cool though if he got the win, cause he rode amazing and showed a new style. Being a heavier sprint like rider, I was so impressed with him and his team on this steep finish. Top 20 for the stage was all GC folks and climbers - and then Pedersen.
      Like seeing an ostrich suddenly take off and fly 🙂

      He actually is, just not great at reacting to others making a weird decision in a descend and last year he had some lingering mental trauma from his Lombardy fall, which he worked on. Before his Lombardy fall he actually was considered a good descender, he was just bad for a few months and people only seem to remember that.

      He is a bad teammate? I don't think you actually followed his races close enough. He even often helps his teammates to his detriment, like doing sprint lead-outs as GC leader/going for GC.
      As for this vuelta, he is their main leader by far, the only way to be a bad teammate here is not doing his best, which he clearly is doing. Just maybe young and pretty inexperienced in some ways making small mistakes.
