How to EASILY beat Andrius Lupus Boreas in Genshin Impact Free to Play Friendly!

- In this video, I beat Andrius at WR 5 getting hit only 3 times.
My Geo Traveler is SERIOUSLY underleveled and undergeared for this fight. I'm using a Level 50 Ascension 2 Prototype Rancour and fighting the boss at level 66. Basically all you need to do is hug his hind legs and pay attention when you need to dodge. Make sure to conserve your stamina and eat your food and you shouldn't have a hard time at all.
Also Phase 2 as far as I know is completely UNDODGEABLE. Venti doesn't work, Rock doesn't work, Ningguang Barrier doesn't work, you can't leave the Arena, you can't hide behind the pillars, you can't jump it, you have to tank it.

Just focus on hitting his hind legs and dodging. Bennett seriously make this fight a joke because of his debuff cleansing and attack buff. If you can kill him before he does Phase 2 Howl, you can do this fight hitless.
I beat by first Andrius at level 16. He's a really really easy fight all things considered.

I tried to beat him 5 times in a row but i couldn't. I swear his attacks are impossible to dodge. I'm legit traumatized 👁️👄👁️
I ended up burning through A LOT of food because this overgrown wilderness dog won't let me hit its ass 🙃 I'd take fighting the cubes over him any day. If I didn't have Noelle, Xinyan, and my built Diluc along with the food I wasted on this boss, I'd have never won. And the worst part is that he didn't drop ANY of his materials OR a prototype (but that's already pretty much a given). I only got (meh) artifacts and stones.
Edit: Maybe I'll try again with ranged units since I spent most of my time running away or staying far away from him. Maybe he's just not really meant to be a close contact boss RIP. I hate aiming with archers.

Boss fights are easy. It's abyss that's hard cuz there's situations where everything comes from everywhere, you end up with low hp, you swap barb to burst, then from viewing Barb's ass, the camera view pans and faces Barb from the front. At that moment, you have to dodge away while turn the view 180° back to the original position. In normal circumstances, it's fine. Add a bit of delay or lag into that scenario and you can't tell north from south anymore 🤣

I'm still dying in like the first few seconds >n< . Everytime I think I'm near his legs he jumps back face forward, and I lose all my stamina trying to reach his legs but then his frost circle or swipe kills me.
What you can try doing is making sure that you're just tapping dodge instead of holding it. Holding will make it so that you're stuck sprinting, which is slower and also uses more stamina. Also keep in mind that while you have Cryo on you, you will move slower and use more stamina, meaning it's VERY expensive to dodge. You can use a character that can apply a status effect to themselves to remove the Cryo, like Noelle, Beidou, or Diona. Noelle is the F2P option and you just need to use her Elemental Skill when you have Cryo and it will Crystallize it off of you.
The most important part about fighting Andrius is you always need to be ready to dash away no matter what. It's better to live than to die dealing a little bit of damage. If you don't feel like fighting Andrius as close-up as I do, I recommend you spam Geo Traveller's Elemental Skill and place it underneath Andrius from afar. That way you have more space between you and him. Make sure to stay in mid range if you do this tactic, because if you are too far away, he won't swipe and will instead start Slamming, dashing, or shooting icicles. The purpose of the strat I use in the video is because it removes 60% of his moveset and forces him to do just 3 things: Swipe, Reorient, and Spin.
The purpose of being near his legs is because he will be more likely to Turn towards you instead of doing an attack. It just so happens to have the added bonus of making his Swipe hitbox just a little bit smaller and easier to dodge.

Use an archer to shoot from far. Use Barbara if you have her for healing. Use Noelle for her sheild. And use Ninguang.

@@NonstopNoah I have a better team to kill him now. I use Xinyan for her Shield. Also, if you pop Xinyan's shield near an enemy it deals damage. And Xinyan's ult/burst deals a lot of damage as well. I use Bennet. Keqing and Beidou.

The biggest tip here for me was using the Geo Traveler
My Traveler is at level 80 and i'd say has decent artifacts. I never thought of using the Geo Traveler as I only really use the Anemo Traveler but the Geo Traveler and Noelle did most of the damage. Thanks so much for this!

Thank you. This is what i am talking about, simple and detailed video of how to beat a boss. Too many tutorial videos that are more like ego boosting, since they got 5* character like diluc with top gear and +10lvls. We need more information on how to beat bosses with lesser gear and four star characters.

@@spiffykitty01 i actually just beat him today lol!! i was actually not as stressed as i thought i was going to be once it started, and it was actually not too hard because i did the “cheat” route on the ledge and shot him with amber until he reached the circling phase. it may be bc i’m still wl 1, but it was p chill and after i got the hang of it, it only took me a few minutes lmao. just give it a try and you’ll do great :D

what characters did you use?
Dang, i still remember that i refuse to fight andrius until AR 30 because i know i would get folded. Now i solo him using beidou just for BP or when im bored. Time flies
ive only ever beat him in co-op, but i really want the boreal milk tooths + etc. for weapon ascensions and also to get over my fear LOL this really helped!!! your tone was so calming and supportive, life saver TT thank you!!!!!!

If you take too long he ends up getting so op
That you can’t even beat him, it’s just a butch if the cryo wolf things that keep attacking you, while he attacks with a bunch of major attacks
But the attacks don’t stop (this makes it almost impossible to get ANY hits mainly cause you’ll die after getting hit around 5-6 times)

Have to say this was easy on the PC and PS4 but in mobile it's quite hard - especially in higher world levels and ar levels.
Just bring someone who heals, has shield and does a huge damage. Electro characters works wonders on getting burst damages. And always be behind his bum. Yup that's the main trick if you wanna attack him directly. If you don't, and has ranged electro/geo/pyro characters they work too. Just be mindful really of his attacks.
The MC Geo works pretty well too!

Thank you! This is the 1st time I've beaten the guy. I'm bad at dodging, and couldn't do everything perfectly, but I didn't have to use a lot of food and no revival items.
I went with nilou,bennet,traveler(anemo) and noelle. Bennet and traveller barely did any damage but were enough while nilou recovered from emergy recharge. Noelle was for shielding.

This is actually pretty helpful. I never thought that using geo traveler would be needed but they actually managed to get me through the first phase. After that I just tanked him with my Xiangling and Noelle. (I'm world lvl. 6 and never thought I'd be able to beat Andrius. T-T)

My first time going against him i went in with a Cryo and a Hydro. Had a verrryyy badd time. But I still beat him. Just took forevverrrr and I had to use hydro to heal myself while getting constantly frozen and running around in circles. My god was it difficult

You can also use Beidou’s E to block his attack, it’s the most efficient way to defend yourself and do massive damage to him.

Honestly for me the only way I could beat it was thanks to Noelle shield cause my traveller was dead in the half phase and the only thing that saved my also my dead Diluc at the final was her shield.Man I feel bad for not raring her past 50 when you don't have Zhongli and suck at the game she is a God sent.
How i beat this boss
1. Open up chat
2. Call high ar friend
3. Let them in my world
4. Pretend as if I'm helping when I'm only doing 30 dmg
I beat this boss using my C1 Fischl in phase 1 and then after that with Geo MC until end when I first fought it.
Somehow, I don't know why, I just couldn't manage to stay behind it without depleting my stamina. It turned too quickly too often and slashed too often. Mostly I ended up getting hit. So I just switched to my Fischl, use her E, and then shoot from a distance while still trying to get behind it and also dodging its slashes and stomps. For me it was easier to stay safe like this.
After it entered the next phase, somehow it didn't turn around so often now! Then I went in with Geo MC and started attacking and dodging. If my HP got too low, I just switched to my C3 Noelle, use Q, use E, then start spinning. Always healed my team to full.
But all in all your vid is very helpful! Especially to F2P players who may not have a team of very strong characters.
So I think the issue you might be having is that you're dashing a lot more than you really need to; "need" being the operative word here.
Notice how when I'm fighting him in the video, I actually jump a lot more than I dash. This is because I don't really _need_ the invincibility frames if I'm just playing catch-up to his rear and the jump cancels my attack animation just like a dash would. I only dash when I need to, which is when he slashes and when he does his spin attack because of the invincibility. This way I'm giving myself time to let my stamina recharge instead of constantly having it be on recharge cooldown. I'm constantly attacking him with just 1 or 2 strikes to keep my Prototype Rancour stacks up and to get in some damage so I'm not wasting any time before I jump towards his rear when he turns around. Just being near his rear automatically makes it so that he won't slash as often as well, which means more stamina for you in the long run.
As for Phase 2, yes, he will not turn around as often. This is because of his tail swipe move. In this phase, it's best to stay near his sides toward his rear. If you look at the video, you'll see that I stick close to this location. This is because the tail swipe hitbox is smaller at the sides, and his swipes are easier to dodge as well. Unfortunately, the stamina management here is very difficult. I don't recommend jumping that often because it will lock you in mid-air without the option to go anywhere else. So you will just need to manage your dashes properly, and attack often.

Yea I find the 2nd phase somewhat easier due to me having enough stamina, so even when I fought him the first time I could just win no problem. Deal enough damage fast enough, and he would be dead in no time. Not dead but yeah... So 2nd phase is actually easier for me.
In the worst case, for phase 1, I could cheese him by climbing back up the right side of the entrance to the arena (right side while facing the entrance from within arena) and stay at the edge and shoot him with an archer. He wouldn't retaliate and wouldn't do anything until his HP is half or long enough has passed and he goes running around the arena. Hahaha...
IDK how your Andrius stays this calm. Whenever I even try and get close, he immediately jumps back and does some random combo with swipes and jumps and dashes away. EVERY TIME with no failure. Is the AI changed ?

I've thought about it, but the only reason why I started making Genshin Impact boss guides is because imo everyone was making really trash guides for bosses. I might consider making other Genshin content if the current trend of hyper-clickbait continues just to put out actually useful guides.
I think they may have updated his AI in 2.0, because he seems more aggressive and the hitboxes seem a little less forgiving now. Still, this guide helped me finally beat him! Thank you, good sir!

Thanks for the guide. If you use Xinyan her fire shield will make you take ZERO damage during howl. I used Diluc, Xinyan, Zhongli, and Jean for heals.

Can't. Xiao only goes as high as Venti's Updraft, Albedo's Flower, and Zhongli's Pillar. All of which cannot avoid the Phase 2 Howl.

Hi hi hi!! Thank you sooo much!! I never knew I was fighting so wrong. I got him using only kaeya and kuki. Love from me hehe~ ❤️ (ah yeah I know I shouldn't use kaeya but he's my main and also I defeated andrius within 2 minutes. Again thanks 👍)
the first time i met andrius was during the quest and i panicked so much and failed completely and ran away, little did i know the story continued anyways so i didn’t have to fight him.
but after that i stayed away bc rly didn’t know how to fight him. i only did it in co-op with a super powered friend xD
BUT! the other day i tried again, hated every second of it. had the worst elemental team and it took me 20 mins 😂 but i beat him 😂
this has given me some tips as to which characters to use so i will try again and see if i can go below 20 mins 😆😆😆 ty!
edit; also when i fought him i did like zero damage, bringing cryo was a mistake obv but even xiangling’s burst did basically zero damage. does he get immune to elemental attacks at some point?
Andrius is only immune to Cryo and Anemo.
Aside from that, Andrius has a natural 10% resistance to all elements including physical other than Geo (which sits at 0% resistance).
That being said, you're probably noticing the effect of his raw Defense scaling vs your World Level. Given that Andrius is technically considered both a world boss and a trounce domain boss, he scales with World Level instead of being able to choose the difficulty. It's likely that your stats are just a bit too low to be engaging him in a fight to beat him in a reasonable amount of time. Thankfully, Xiangling is very strong and you have a Best in Slot (BiS) weapon for her available to you guaranteed for free in the form of The Catch (from Inazuma fishing. It takes awhile, but it's worth it). Also from Inazuma is Emblem of Severed Fate, which is also Xiangling's BiS artifact set currently as it provides everything she needs.
i just beat him using my lv 60 geo traveller and noelle 😭😭😭 i'm still in wl 3 but he is scary af, my hands literally become cold. thank you bcs this video gave me courage
Nothing brings me more satisfaction than this beast getting owned. I had a hard time trying to defeat this boss because of my F2P artifacts. ;-;
I am at world level 6 and I'm only doing this because if I beat him in solo, I get to move on to page 8 on the handbook. Every time I go to attack him, he just turns and attacks me from the front, I can't hit his back legs without taking over half of my health while doing barely any damage. (I play on pc, but dodging is still hard.) I am using Fischl, Bennett, Noelle, and Tighnari
Drop down ur WL to 5 and eat atk food it will make it alittle easier i dropped from 5 to 4 and ate some atk food and hp food too when my hp was low and kept attacking his leg i was able to defeat him good luck!!

@@harvy345 yup I beat it. With the use of Zhongli's shield every now and then. But it's kinda hard to dodge the attack, maybe because I'm a noob or what that's why I tanked all the hit. My Zhongli's max hp is 12,000.
