This whole video made me smile. My Mom used to tell me that her Mom (my Grandmother) used to get up at the crack of dawn every Friday & bake bread. She said, "When I was walking home from school, I could smell the bread baking all the way down the street. By the time I got home, I was salivating". Mom & I used to go to the bakery 2 streets away from our house. We wound up buying 2 loaves of rye bread because it was so good to eat fresh, hot, out-of-the-oven rye bread, we ate 1/2 a loaf while walking home.
Sounds like an awesome routine :)
What a wealth of knowledge man!
PQB for life!
Straight up! Those dudes know how to bake.
This was a great video! I'm still using the starter I created in 2011 and bread is also my favorite food. I love it witth rye , whole wheat, spelt, cranberries or just plain with lots of butter. I love Ciabatta, especially for sandwiches of all kinds.. Sourdough is in its own class and I really don't use commerical yeast anymore.
That was so cool! Greg was so knowledgeable about the process and seems like such a great teacher.
Greg is a beast! Not to shameless plug, but he's coming out with a book soon and it's going to be full of amazing recipes and technique explanations. You should check it out! It'll be called Bread Head. I know I'm going to pick one up.
And thanks!
@@AdamWitt thank you for the recommendation/heads up! I am definitely interested ☺️
Great video my dude. Used to bake a lot of bread a couple of years ago. Haven't baked sourdough in over a year.
Thanks homie! Never too late to pick it up again.
