You do NOT want to shake them up, that turns a caramel macchiato into a caramel latte. The intent of the macchiato is for you to get a different flavor with every sip.
Okay… a REAL macchiato is a 6oz. Starbucks took that make and made their own drink (who knows why. But it’s basically a macchiato latte) The only thing that makes this a “macchiato” is that there are two shots and poured on TOP of the drink instead of bottom. So yes, you can stir it. Unless you’re drinking a real macchiato that has espresso pulled into 6oz of steamed milk, no, don’t stir it. I recommend you all try local. Bet they will always beat both of these options :)
Good review! I 100% agree with this vid. I switched to McDonald’s because the price is cheaper and with McDonald’s app you can get free coffee with any purchase just depending on the deals of day ☺️.great vid ❤️☕️
Mixing it defeats the purpose of getting a layered drink. You should consider ordering it upside down, we put the shots at the bottom the way we do with just about every flavored latte at the bucks. When the milk is then poured into the cup, it mixes evenly. Also order it with extra caramel drizzle, that's when we put some on the walls of the inside of the cup. The drink to standard comes with a caramel crosshatch. Anything else is extra. tldr just order an iced caramel macchiato upside down with extra caramel drizzle. Based in your preferences in the video, I think you'd like it alot. Have a good day :)
@@jessicagifford6570 what's the point in leaving it layered tho why would someone want half a cup of straight espresso then half a cup of straight sugar milk
Mcdonalds does use expresso and they did have it before the macchiatos came out, what I don’t get is that Starbucks uses vanilla syrup and calls it a caramel macchiato. We add 3 pumps of caramel for a small, 5 for medium and 6 for large
Yeah I think Starbucks uses vanilla sweetener as a base for most drinks for some reason, it’s a caramel macchiato because of the caramel sauce I guess lol. I can’t get McDonald’s coffees because I don’t do dairy anymore & they don’t have almond milk 😕
I'm guessing Starbuck's uses vanilla syrup to enhance the flavor of the drink. A macchiato is supposed to have vanilla on the bottom, then milk 2nd, and espresso shots 3rd with a caramel crosshatch on top. Without vanilla syrup there is not going to be a real macchiato flavor achieved. Former barista
It’s a caramel macchiato because of the caramel drizzle. The vanilla syrup flavors the milk so that you’re drinking sweetened milk then the espresso instead of just milk then espresso.
+marykacyy My goal was to try to compare the drinks as is without any extras to see if the mcds $2 coffee would taste just as good or better than the starbucks coffee which is pricier so I ordered them how they are regularly made for the sake of the video 😊
Okay so I'm an avid Starbucks caramel machiatto drinker. But spending over 6 bucks a day is getting to be too much but like u I like mine with skim milk and an extra shot of espresso. But tonight I ventured to mcdonalds.. I was able to order it with non fat milk.. and it's good! Next time I'm going to ask for extra espresso... Still doesn't beat SB THOUGH
I wish I could drink Starbucks but everytime I get a frappucino from there I get 1-3 extreme cysts on my face 😭 The last time I gave them another chance was 4 months ago and omg I got 3 cysts on my back 😱😱😱 So McDonalds McCafe it is for me...plus, honestly their coffee tastes good tbh x_x
Great video, Priscilla! I've tried the McDonalds iced coffee drinks. Personally, I think the McDonalds one is closer to Dunkin Donuts (not as strong as Starbucks). I prefer McDonalds over Starbucks. Loved your taste test and review!
+Wishing On Stars Music I don't have any dunkin donuts around me so I haven't tried their coffee! I know McDonald's is not as strong as Starbucks but, I love that they are more cost effective. Thank you for watching 😊
I've tried Starbucks so many times. At my location they're drinks are so sweet I hate it. So before I even seen this I was always drinking caramel macchiato from McDonald's and so one day I went back to Starbucks and it tasted like nothing lol. It was weird. I'm like how you mess that up😂
I don't like McDonald's coffee that much. The large caramel macchiato is $5 after tax. & Their iced coffee tastes watered down. Unfortunately the closest Starbucks is 20 mins away
McDonald uses coffee and Starbucks uses expresso shots which a lot find it more satisfying. If your not an expresso person go with McDonald’s since the taste will be a lot smoother. Starbucks is for the extra who like better taste lol! They’re both pretty good tbh.
I've never understood the point of layering the espresso when pretty much everyone just stirs it I have customers order iced macchiato stirred I'm just like get a latte then 🤦♀️
exactly, I always thought you were supposed to stir then when I found out you’re not supposed to, it was too late lol. I can’t picture myself drinking it not stirred, especially since I don’t like the taste of milk on its own!

Am I the only one that sees the Starbucks cup is blending in with background???
#DAVID 86 man, that is weird. Yes I see it.
It’s a green screen, so the green from the logo is also doing the green screen effect!
It’s because of the green screen
I was tripping out 😄
No I see it too
Everyone bullying her about mixing it up but it’s her drink let her do what she wants and I mix mine up to soo
I mix mine too. Tried it both ways. Way better blended. Leave her be. It's her drink.
Rylee Trickett yeah i mix mine too. i feel like at starbucks the milk is too sweet and the espresso is too bitter so when you mix them it’s just right

Um I drink macchiatos every day and you definitely have to mix it unless you want straight milk then coffee...

Starbucks also uses 2% milk as a standard. Not sure about McDonald’s. That could have also made a slight difference in the taste.
I had the McDonalds one and it was a lot darker, guess it depends who makes it 😊
+Lalalooney44 definitely! The same at Starbucks, some baristas make it stronger than others
Priscilla Olivia Yes I personally like it stronger as well, otherwise its tastle like sweet with a touch of coffee, lol
I work at mcdonalds and at our a machine makes it. You just have to stir a little before the expresso starts coming in so the milk and Caramel mixes
We also are supposed to put a few pumps of Caramel depending on the size. Maybe the mickeyds worker didn't put enough
Priscilla Olivia You could just ask McDs when ordering to add more shots of the expresso & extra caramel if thats what you like
+marykacyy My goal was to try to compare the drinks as is without any extras to see if the mcds $2 coffee would taste just as good or better than the starbucks coffee which is pricier so I ordered them how they are regularly made for the sake of the video 😊
How did u order for tall Starbucks CM? Was it regular or did u customize
McDonalds is better overall. Starbucks is too overated, and their coffee taste like peppered water.
McDonald’s definitely has some good coffee! Now they just need some cold brew because that’s my favorite
😂😂😂
McDonald’s is waaaay better I love it

$3.19 at McDonald's in Cali. ☹☹
Not with the mcdonald app. Lol.
Lol mcdonalds has had espresso added to different drinks since 2012 if not longer lol

Hello Priscilla can you tell how much Oz have that cup?
12 ounces!

Great comparison.. McDonald’s cold drinks is not really that bad ..thanks

Abigail Flores Nope. My son works at Mcd's and they do use espresso..it's an espresso machine
I work for McDonalds and it is definitely espresso.
My OCD is going crazy
youre not suppose to mix it hun
Who said that? They don't mix it up because it's prettier having a gradient. ur gonna be sucking milk and sugar if u don't mix it
fishywtf THATS THE POINTTTT TO GET A STRONG COFFEE FLAVOR AT FIRST THEN A SWEET MILK TASTE AFTER
AshleyJ - 😁 agree it's a machiatto for a reason otherwise order an espresso shot and add your own cream and sugar, or a latte

@@cocogomez2278 or literally just let her... get a macchiato and mix it..????

it ain't that deep a lot of people ain't obsessed with coffee like that, let people do what they want

TWIX FINGERS!!!!
