I just hot this clock today to match my wholesale chess triple weight tournament chess set.. I just wish there was sound with each touch of the rocker arm but and amazing clock 💯
You can correct the time during the course of the game, for example, if a player makes an illegal move? ¿Puedes corregir el tiempo durante el transcurso del juego, por ejemplo, si un jugador realiza un movimiento ilegal?
you didnt go over the DELAY time function and how to set it up. I need a countdown timer to use for backgammon that will SHOW the delay time of 12 seconds for the roll/move and the after 12 seconds it will show the game time (2x match length so 10 mins for a 5 pt match for example) counting down for each side back and forth. Can I do that with this clock or not? this clock looks more robust than the DGT 1006 which doesnt show the delay time counting down only a flashing little D symbol which is not what I want. also the numbers on this look much larger so this looks like a better clock if it can do what I asked. please advise
Watch the Leap PQ9912 for the delay function. The delay function in the Wholesale Advanced is the same as the Leap PQ9912 since it's a copycat. The delay countdown shows then proceeds to the game time. Setting the delay is the same as setting the bonus.
It's personal preference, really. They have almost exactly the same functionality, so you'll want to decide based on color/style and whether or not your local tournament director requires a specific clock.
Wholesale Chess, This one displays the seconds remaining at all times, correct? The DGT NA (and my old Saitek) only display seconds at less than twenty minutes remaining. The DGT NA jumps from a display of 0:20 to 19.59. The colon separates the hours and minutes so that the 0:20 is twenty minutes remaining and the 19.59 is nineteen minutes fifty-nine seconds remaining. This twenty minute thing seems arbitrary and illogical. Why doesn’t the DGT NA show the remaining seconds at all times less than an hour, beginning at 59.59? This plus the competitive price makes this Wholesale clock seem like a good option. I’m tempted to get one even though I already have four digital chess clocks and two analog ones. Some have mentioned that bonus (Fischer) can not be set for times of sixty seconds or greater. If this is so, then that may be a consideration for those that need increments of more than a minute. This seems like great deal Wholesale Chess!
I just want it to count up from zero for each player. No other frills or requirements. On the FAQs of this product ok amazon they say it can be done. Anyone know how?
Unfortunately, this advanced clock can only count down but not up. If you want to have count-up mode, it's only available in the Wholesale Chess Basic Digital Game Timer. To set count-up (basic only), all sides must be set to 0:00:00.
I believe they are the same clock, just differ in color and logo. The Leap PQ9912 seems a bit hard to find online (Amazon and Walmart are out of stock as of this posting). Ebay has them for 29.99, but I'd still consider going through Wholesale chess for another $3 and know that they will replace it if there are any issues. Not to mention that you can usually find a 10% off coupon code that erases the savings.
Can this alarm be set ON by default ? It looks like its OFF by default and it has to be set ON before *each* game starts. Thanks in advance for your reply
This one (the Advanced Digital Clock) is pretty durable - we haven't had any problems (or heard about any) with it breaking, although no clock is going to withstand too much violence. Otherwise you might want a DGT North American.
I use several of these in my scholastic clubs (where students love to slam a clock occasionally). They even survived the occasional fall on the floor, but if you are looking for something super durable, I'd be tempted by something with a metal housing, like a Chronos (at 3 times the cost, mind you).
honestly I don't know anything about different time controls . but my question is that the DGT North American have only 23 presets and this have 38 I guess. does it mean that this have more capabilities than the DGT?
Most of the preset options won't be used by the average player, and several of them are byō-yomi settings (not generally used in chess), so I would say they preset differences are negligible.
I have both. Here are the differences, but most are fairly subtle: 1- The DGT NA is slightly larger in width and slightly heavier (maybe by a few ounces). I'd argue that it moves around slightly less when playing bullet games if people are hitting it quickly and/or harder than necessary. 2 - Setting up time controls: The Wholesale Chess clock has a slight advantage here. Both clocks have presets, but very few of the preset times are ones that I use with the exception of G/5 (mostly playing bullet and G/30 d0). Both will save your most recent setting. So if you aren't doing a preset option, the DGT NA requires you to go to setting 1 (custom) and then pick your time controls. The WC clock allows you to go to the nearest setting and then modify it. I like that better. The one slight annoyance is that you have to hold the button down for 3 FULL seconds before it will change the setting. Once there, the first clock side setting automatically populates to the other side. I really like that. In contrast, you have to set both sides of the DGT when doing a custom setting, and that can feel like a lot of button pushing- easy to make a mistake and then have to start over. Either way we are only talking about a few seconds of your time, but this is the biggest difference in the clocks to me. 3 - Price - My first two digital clock I bought for my scholastic clubs were the DGT NA's. They retail at about $50. Sometimes you can find deals to bring the price down a little. When the WC Advanced Digital Game Timer came out, I bought two. I think they were $40. They were least expensive option that had both delay/bonus options and multiple time control (in one game) settings, for example (30/120 + G/60). Now they are listed at 32.99. I now buy these on a fairly regular basis- especially when they are on wholesale chess's Thursday Deals, or they are running a 15 or 20% off promotion/code. I'd guess I've purchased about 10 of them and I've never had an issue. In contrast, I did have one button stop working on one of my DGT NA's, but I think it was a fluke, as I know they are rock solid for most buyers. Either way, Wholesale Chess's customer service is awesome and they replaced it with no issue. One other note, as mentioned by @Big Lew BBQ in a comment below, is that they seconds are shown from 59:59 on on the WC clock, where as you only get minutes on the DGT until you get to 19:59. As someone perpetually in time trouble, I like knowing my seconds. :)
Why are you in this comment section the people here want to do an investment and get one of these clocks and that’s why they don’t want an app they want a clock a REAL clock

How did the chess clock hold? Im thinking to buy in 2025 as it’s the cheapest option currently

Quisiera saber como se pone la cuenta bonus en OFF en este modelo. Gracias.
Is there a way to set the alarm on the gallen flag to on for every game.
It wouldn't have been hard/an effort to allow for more custom save profile options - puts me off purchasing TBH.
Appreciate the video, thank you.

Where to buy?
So, this clock does not show the current number of moves played on screen unless you go and press a button?
The DGT NA does have this?
What about the sound? It has a small speaker grid on its bottom. You never showed how to activate it.
@@Coolrockndad I think it can't be activated since Leap PQ9912 doesn't have like a beep. (doesn't ring if one side loses time)
Is there a fisher mode in the clock? If there is, how do you use it?
Fischer time is like bonus time, so any of the pre-programmed or custom modes that use bonus time rather than delay would work for a Fischer game.
Is there a way to remove an edited time control?
Unfortunately, you can't remove an edited time control (the F one). You have to remove and reinstall the batteries and it should delete it.
got it, love it....
Hi! Izzykeemy, I give my chess clock 4 use in game on Philippines by GM William Ritanal jr.
I'm thinking this clock or the dgt north American clock, which one do you suggest ?
It's personal preference, really. They have almost exactly the same functionality, so you'll want to decide based on color/style and whether or not your local tournament director requires a specific clock.

So do I!!! So frustrating, how do you count up? Did you figure it out?
Unfortunately, this advanced clock can only count down but not up. If you want to have count-up mode, it's only available in the Wholesale Chess Basic Digital Game Timer. To set count-up (basic only), all sides must be set to 0:00:00.
This clock is a copycat of the Leap PQ9912. Leap PQ9912 doesn't have count-up, so does the Wholesale Chess.
Exactly the same of Leap PQ9912 except the color and brand. Even the bottom menu. Another difference is the price, the Leap timer is cheaper.

Does this have a alarm when your flag has fallen
Yes, there is an alarm that can be turned on or off.
Can this alarm be set ON by default ? It looks like its OFF by default and it has to be set ON before *each* game starts. Thanks in advance for your reply
@@hugovb9 The clock will keep it's most recent setting.
Which chess clock would you recommend for bullet games with people who get rough hitting the clock i need a good, durable, strong clock

Just download a chess clock app
ATOG V no one likes that
Stop being picky, just be thankful that someone decided to make a chess clock app so others could save some bucks

you do know the weak point of the system LOL

Is there a way to display hundredths of a second for bullet games?
This clock doesn't display hundreths.
