Actually I think it was a pretty useful use of your time! Thank you. Thinking of getting the 60 and this just helped a bit more in the decision

Great video, I had 120 and is massive saw and quite heavy. I sold due to luck of use due to its size and weight. Small DEWALT 777 saw did great job until it got stolen from my van. I bought
Ks 60 is great for fit out on the go. Lightweight and takes less space in you van. I use with under frame UG set without extension legs. 120 is a workshop saw and has more extra’s build in. You can adjust bevel in front right rail and also has laser built in as standard which is the best laser I ever seen on the mitre saw. I wish both of them was quieter and I recommend wearing ear protection when using indoors. I have ear protection clip in to the saw all the time. Great little saw but expensive. Festool blades is also not cheap but it goes to my expenses list and I don’t mind much:))

Not really specific if one is doubting between these saws I suspect. I’ve had the ks60 for about five years and have the 120 for half a year now. The 60 is a very good saw, but underpowered like a lot of festool saws actually. It struggles with 60mm hardwood if the blade isn’t really sharp. The 120 is by far the best saw i ever worked with. Extremely accurate every time, double laser is great, very easy to adjust. Not lacking power. I can find no flaws really except maybe the price.

Is the ks60 the best overall saw for dust extraction? Any other manufacturers beat it?

Hi, glad to hear that! Yes, the Festool saws are all made in Germany, even the 120V versions :)

why do the motors on the Festool sound so...rickety like on a cheap chop saw?

It has to do with the way they did the variable speed. Festool has an explanation somewhere. Most corded track saws sound like this as well. It is just uncommon for miter saws to be variable speed so it makes the Festool stand out.

Has the KS 120 got a festool brand saw blade?

Hi Chris, the KS120 blade I used was not original (actually I used a pretty cheap no-name blade). According to Festool their blades have "Laser cut expansion slots with reduce vibration for faster, quieter cutting". So it might be that the KS120 is slightly quieter with an original blade. The one on the KS60 was the original stock blade though :)

just another maker good note there about the blade, but it doesn’t matter much to the overall sound produced, (by the engine itself) because what we’re comparing is the direct noise from the engine and usually, if is bad blade it will only produced during cutting and when coming to stop, still it will not affect how 95% the noise produced by the engine itself.
