Peaceful Challenge #6: Fixing The Iron Farm And Designing A Honey Tunnel Bore
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- We need a tunnel bore for mining. Since we don't have a lot slime we need to redesign the tunnel bore in a way to use as little slime as possible. This means we're confronted with some unique challenges in order to make the system work. We also work on fixing the issues with the iron farm.

Ya, it’s amazing how he could now go back and replace most of that honey with slime in a normal world for way more efficient tunnel boring.

@@michaelmccauley4798 5:05 Both, tnt duper as well.
@@Drew-yz7ih true, a very neat one wide tnt duper.
But sadly it is not reversible, so unless you only want to move it in a single direction (so not useful for stationary purpose or a flying machine going back and forth) it is not necessary that helpful. But nevertheless a very neat design created in such a short time and with the material limitation.
Wait I'm probably wrong here but wasn't the original design he improved uni-directional?
The tunnel bore itself is uni-directional, right?!
Other than that the the normal duper is bi-directional
@@enderredacted112 Well, it depends how you define uni-directional. The duping occures only in on direction with the old duper he showed AFAIK, but it can be pulled backwards. This can be useful for stationary TNT-duping purposes or to dupe over a given area multiple times by using flying machines going back and forth.
The new honey-block design can only be pushed, so it has a little bit different use cases. But because a tunnel bore can't go backwards, both designs are fine for it (and the honey block one may even be better because it is one wide)
I gotta appreciate that attempting to redesign something with even more restrictions has made a version that is an outright improvement for all other cases, being one wide and using more mundane blocks.
Exactly, especially as he can replace most of those honey blocks with the easier to obtain slime in a normal world.
@Raynie Summer well I meant things like using many non-slime blocks, which isn't a big benefit for scicraft or others with hyper efficient slime farms, but would have use for casual players
Raynie Summer ya, a slime farm is a lot easier to build and more productive than a honey farm.
Both require a decent bit of building, but for the honey farm, you have to breed all the bees.
That’s why all the flying machines on scicraft are built from slime, except where honey is necessary.
Nevir202 plus there’s production issues, where bees will stop working and slime chunks always spawn slimes. Completely agree with you
And on Scicraft they have a slime farm that produces literally millions of slime so-

One thing that you could do to craft dispensers is to fish to get enchanted bows and use those.

This series is actually so refreshing. Reminds me of watching things like Sky Block back in the day when it was very novel. You just don't see challenges like this anymore except as one off gimmicks I feel.

That new TNT duper should also work with 3 slimeblocks, so it's an improvement for _everyone_ not just peaceful players.
I'm pretty sure i've seen a few other Redstone youtubers complaining about the spawn chunk loading issues. It's supposed to be getting fixed from what i heard.
I had this struggle when in the beginnings of my SMP, no slime farm, a tiny honey farm, and a lack of honey block contraptions. As soon as i got enough slime though from slimes every full moon i instantly made a cheap worldeater lite for a slime farm. now i have 2 dcs of slimeblocks just in case.

You can scare villagers with snowballs, allowing the classic iron farm design to work.
The villager would eventually die. Regen potions are not a luxury they cant get as there's no blazes.
And beacons won't regenerate villagers health
@@le0t0rr3z the wiki says snow golem can't deal damage to villagers...
Necessity is the mother of invention, you didn't make a more compact, efficient TNT duper in the past because you never needed too, this time you had the choice wait a few weeks for the panda snot or to get creative.
i know this is late and all, rewatching the peaceful series. Ilmango got me questioning "Wait...dropper can place minecarts onto rails?"
So theoretically if you alternated honey/slime you could have a 1-wide stackable tnt duping & firing wall
(This is why I watch Ilmango)
I believe you can't because a few blocks have to be slime and cant be swapped by honey
@@le0t0rr3z oh yeah, well 1-wide with a gap in between as a gigantic moving wall would still be pretty cool
This will also be very useful for starting out on a world if you cant find slime chunks with the world seed, you could use this and torch it up to easily locate slime without needing much first.
Or just use a slime chunk finder like amidst
These near daily Ilmango vids are exactly what I needed.
