I am dyslexic and I play the piano. I find it hard to read music, I don't know if you have ever played an instrument but it would be great if you had any tips on that.

Bryony Robson i use a colour overlay in university also. Everyone has their own techiques and ways to do certain things. This is your technique to read effectively. I personally just use it and if anyone ask a question, I’ll honestly answer saying that I have dyslexia and it helps me read. If there is negativity know, either ignore it or tell the teacher. They will be able to sort it out (From a dyslecic trainee teacher)

You shouldn't worry about using it! If the yellow overlay helps you read and improves your school work you should use it. Don't let other people's opinion of you affect your success in school. Doing well matters much more than if someone has an issue with a yellow overlay. If someone asks, you can say that you are dyslexic and it helps you read.

I love using an overlay!!! I've managed to lose a few but it definitely helps me!!! Don't feel embarrassed, I'm always asked about my yellow pages but I always say I'm colour sensitive so its just easier for me to read!
