@Dj_M1 Well a shit ton off hormones tend to help the strongmans a long way too, but body comp is also very important.
@Dj_M1 yes Thor has top of the heap genetics, probably the 99.9999%
WorkTillYouDie What? Martins comes from good stock. To be The WSM or even in the conversation, you must have great genetics, years of work, and some hormone supplements, and first class recovery.

That deadlift was unbelievable. Thor is in an ascended state of strength...without injury the next few years of strongman will be his.
The wr is 500 kg by eddie hall
@@1minutetech728 ....ok? That's accurate, but that was also on a deadlift bar with a suit and not at all relevant to what I said. This is a completely different bar and suits arent allowed at the Arnold, so even if he pulls 501kg at the arnold there will be enough room for debate about what the deadlift record actually is. I think big z still has the record for most weight deadlifted with a huge bar and hummer ties.
Shawn M The second heaviest deadlift is still only 473kg on the bar Eddie used. No one has came close to it, although yeah, this set was insane. If anyone's breaking it, it is Thor

@@visionofdisorder a stroke ..are u serious? Nobody is going to have a stroke and then carry on competing in strongman with a bodyweight of 200 kg ...and also his bells palsy is way better barely noticeable..thor has always spoke slightly out the side of his mouth even before the bells palsy
Crazy coming back seeing the difference in video quality and the difference in how you and martins are on camera.
The Bell's Palsy is wearing off and I'm glad! So happy for you man!
Really hoping Martins will see som good recovery results from his nerve injury, it is just so humbling seeing rivals at this level helping each other.

Eddie can lift more than 500KG . It's been 4 years and all Thor and his friends can do is boast about lifting 450kg . It's pathetic . Lift the 500KG or shut up !!!
Hahaha, no way. Eddie did it on a regular bar, the bar Thor uses is easier (about 5%). I'm not trying to say Thor is weak or anything, but the deadlift is just Eddie's best lift and no one can compete, the Russian guy was close though.

At that point every 5kg more will feel like 20 more. It's not that easy. Eddie said he couldnt break 480 kg for a looooong time in gym, he needed special mental-prepartion for that.
That's considered an elephant bar dead lift. Just as Eddie stated, "people are using easier bars to get close to the record." You get more bend from the bar which causes you to pull from a higher position. Just like a block pull, you get more weight.

I don't think he is the strongest in human history. Human history is anywhere from 20,000 to 80,000 years old, depending on how close to a human you consider past men. A good estimate is that there have been 106 billion people in human history. There are currently 7 billion people on earth, or 7/106 = 6.6% of the total. Many of these historical men were murderers, thieves, cannibals and such, which naturally would lend itself to higher testosterone production. Based on the odds there have been literally thousands to millions of men Thor's size who have existed in human history, some of whom were definitely murderers/ pillagers/ shock troops and such.
I don't think Thor has killed anybody, and certainly hasn't gone on any murderous rampages killing a dozen men.
Here is one example of an ancient man I would bet my life was stronger than Thor: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximinus_Thrax . He was Roman emperor from 235-238 AD, reportedly stood 8 foot 6 in, or 259.08 cm, and was a simple farmhand defending his home from literal barbarian cannibals from Europe before ascending to the throne. He reportedly ate 40 pounds of meat and drank 18 bottles of wine per day, and could crush stones with his bare hands. He also definitely killed people and was a farmhand laboring for hours a day in fields instead of in a workout room for at most 4 hours a day doing controlled reps.
Even if his height was exaggerated say 15% that would put him at
8 foot 6 in = 259.08 cm * 0.85 = 233 cm = 7 foot 7 in, about a foot taller than Thor and possibly stronger pound-for-pound due to being a manual laborer instead of a strongman. Not to belittle Thor deadlifting a small car I just find it fascinating how little of human history is known and even less recorded
The Third Challenge- Punching Machine, combined score wins.
