For me I wd cut the size of the desk in half; and get a 3 seater couch. as much as i adore my hubby; sitting on a loveseat constantly with another person would give me a mental n physical CRAMP=GROUCHY!! also; u can get a small fridge like a 3 cu ft one to expand your fridge capacity; plus make yourself a kitchen island; open frame with 4ft/5ft countertop; shelves underneath with 2 inch lip on them to KEEP stuff IN them while towing; throw a blanket over it to prevent scuffs while towing.
Since I've never been a full time RV'er I can't really completely understand what you go through, but having visited you, I DO know how cramped it can be. That's all part of the charm! Good video on a topic that many RV'ers know all too well.
I'm also a Nurse who hasn't traveled since 2008 and will be going back on the road soon and this time with an RV. I love the Grand Design and have decided it will be my RV when the time comes to purchase. Thank you so much for these videos! this will hopefully prepare me for what's to come. btw, it'll be just me and a cat Memow
Am entering the full time RV world in a couple of months. Have a GD Imagine 2670MK on order. You two are awesome with your candor and honesty. So refreshing and can see that it is an imperfect but rewarding life choice. I feel lucky to be starting my adventure here in New Zealand where we are almost COVID free outside the borders and have so many stunning places to go - that are incredibly available - due to no foreign tourists (hard on the economy but good for me). I love the positivity of you two that is tempered with reality. Greetings from New Zealand
Congrats on the full-time life - the 2670MK has such an awesome layout too! Thank you so much, we appreciate that 😊 that's amazing about New Zealand too, we've honestly talked about how well you guys handled everything. It's been on our bucket list to visit there for so long! Also, this might sound naive but are GD sold in New Zealand?
You talked about space. We had a 24ft C Class and found it was not enough room. with no slides it was ok for camping but when we went to Florida for the winter we found it small. Although we spent most of our time outside camper when we were inisde it was small. We bought a 33ft A Class with a slide and wow what a differenc it has made. Just so much more room. As expected though the cost is more. Parts are a lot more plus gas cost is more. So more room more money, is it worth it for us yes.
Good point about rv repair people. I just used Ricks Rv Service in Florida and he had no idea how to wire a gfi circuit (was calling friends and when I took it to a rv repair shop it was wired backwards), missed a dying, blinking converter and dead battery but did not hesitate to charge for his service. Yes, watch out for bad RV repairpeople!!
Good points. I agree with the concerns about tanks and wifi. Those are probably the biggest concern for us too. We're not full timers but we do spend months at a time in our travel trailer.
Next purchase perhaps a 5th wheel better designed for full time not so big 29 ft to 36 ft and yes your fridge is small; Next purchase make sure to have a 12v we love ours; we have a new 19 footer but our 12V Fridge is 11 cu ft .. And its always on while we're on the road, even on a two day trip 1400 miles one with a 6 hour stop no hook-ups. Yet you did it and maybe one day you'll settle for awhile. And pick this up again. We love boating to much to go full time. But enjoy watching others RVing. You both are a joy and bro you're funny love the realness you two bring .. God Bless
That's so interesting! Fifth wheels definitely seem better designed for full-time but we just fell in love with this floorplan 🥰 thank you so much Jesse, we appreciate it!
Good video! Live small and leaving a couple of things out, the space feels cluttered... that is very true! We have really enjoyed your videos. Looking forward to watching more! We just subscribed!
Good Video. I’m new to watching you guys, but so far you have good information relating to Grand Design models. Ref: Internet issues, I also follow Nomatic Fanatic (Eric), and he uses “Nomad Internet”. He finds he has less issues with that service. Not perfect in all spots, but reports less issues. Just for FYI and another avenue to look in to. Keep up the good videos.
Hey guys! It is so funny that even though it is such a small space we constant find ourselves cleaning and organizing all the time!!! The fridge is definitely like a game of Tetris 🤣🤣 Thanks so much for sharing guys! ~ Brandon and Maggie
Good video guys! We definitely have a different prespective than you guys on a couple of things than you. We like our small space! We love spending all of our time together. We also don't mind our small refrigerator. We agree with you on things breaking either on the RV or the truck. Thanks for sharing your personal views!
I thought you did a nice job with this. We (family of 3) have lived on a 20' boat, so we 'can relate'. You do have some challenges, in the sense that Stephanie has a 'real world' job. The one 'issue' I think you could reasonably improve on is campground choices. My hunch is that you need to upgrade your trailer to make boondocking more comfortable. I saw a number of ways that would be possible, given your comments. Give that a little more thought, if campgrounds are in your future.
Wow, 3 people in a 20' boat would be such an experience 😱 We would love to make some upgrades to boondock more for sure. Steph's job usually puts us in one spot for about 3 months at a time though so campgrounds tend to be our best choice. Thank you so much for watching!
Mike and Steph! First... a huge CONGRATULATIONS 🎊🎉🍾 on being monetized! That’s so awesome!!! Great video on the 5 things you don’t like about fulltime RV’ing. I’d have to agree with some of those, a bigger trailer would be nice, more room. We had mostly downsized too and did the Corp apartment and Airbnb thing before we bought our trailer going on two years ago. Certainly need to reorganize after a long trip pulling the trailer, from the dish cabinet to the drawers, it all just went through a major earthquake. One of my must haves in the next rig is a fulltimers desk! Need RUclips editing space. We’ll join you on the internet. We have three Verizon hotspots, 15GB each (unlimited though) and one Sprint 100GB hotspot. Park wifi, usually not even good enough to send an email. Great video and keep up the great content! Congratulations again! See you on the road!
Thank you Kurt and Jen! This has been a CRAZY month for us on here. Some days I wish we had a huge camper, but we really enjoy the space overall. Mike is continuing his research on finding a permanent wifi solution, but it seems we're going to have to keep finding ways to make things work. Thank you guys for the congrats, and keep up your good work as well! Hope you guys are safe!
This was so helpful! Haha I’m just thinking about adding two additional humans in and kind of getting hives 🤣. We are very interested in boon docking and really appreciate your advice on that. It’s cool that some RV parks have storm shelters! I didn’t think about that. We have spent all our time together so we are good on that but I feel you with the close proximity 🤣. We work primarily from home and do virtual school so we are always together - I like that you went kind of positive there 😂 . Great video! 💕❤️
Yea we can't help much with traveling with the kids 🙈 Boondocking is great! There are tons of places that allow it. Harvest hosts is one program we've talked some about that we think is great. Thanks again, guys 😊
I just found you guys and haven't gone backwards to look at your beginning videos. Have you had other rigs? We are selling our house to go full-time hopefully we close by January. The market is still hot so we are hopeful... We were in Florida for the winter last year. We participated in the Python Bowl - We uploaded a video on it, if you get a chance check it out. We roamed around the everglades a bunch in our class c. Thanks for sharing your dislikes. We can relate to doing the repairs, we are really set up for boon docking so some things won't be so much of an issue but we can relate to some of the things you touched on. I still can't wait to get on the road.
Hey Scott and Jen and welcome! This is our first and only rig. We bought it in 2018, and decided to do a video on what we don't like. Keep us posted on your full-time journey! - Mike and Steph
Howdy Friends... Thanks 🙏🏻 for Sharing Your Realities of the different lifestyle effects of Full-time RV'ing...YES yes yes... a lot of different things to be aware of... Homework Homework Homework, prepare ahead and ENJOY 😊
We’ve been on a couple of multi-week trips and we get the small space syndrome quickly. If we were full timers in our 30 footer...we would probably go crazy very quickly! Kuddos to y’all for figuring it out and making it work 🤙
Hi. Im a travel xray cath lab tech. and looking at buying this RV tomorrow. I have 2 boston terriers who travel with me. Im a little nervous about making the leap. I have a contract in Indiana and will need to be there May 22. Any advice is appreciated. I love your videos. They are very helpful. I do have a company who is going to move it for me this time as I haven't bought a truck yet. I have a toyota 4 runner.
Hey! That's awesome, we love our 2600RB! It's a great size, especially with the pups. It sounds like you've been doing your research already - that's the biggest piece of advice we have. That and don't be scared to go for it, or to ask questions - both in the camper community and while at work on assignment 😊
Can definitely relate to a lot of these 🤣 we went through 3 tornado watches within 2 weeks earlier this year 😬 not fun! Good plans for hotspots can be hard to find. We have 3 different ones but bought them years ago 🤷🏻♀️
Eek! At least we've had some warning with the hurricanes so far. And I wish we would've got on the wifi stuff sooner! It seems like unlimited plans are all but non-existent. 🙈
Is there a video that addresses your frozen water lines? Waited one stop too many between Florida and Ohio before winterizing and now are concerned about the plumbing.
We haven't done a full video on it, but have had it happen twice. Fortunately it only froze at the spigot and the exterior hose, nothing into the actual camper, and was thawed within a few hours after discovering.
We do! I (Steph) am an ICU nurse so we find jobs all over the country for me. I do have to be licensed in each state, but Indiana (our home state) is now part of the compact so there are about 30 states I can go to and not have to get a new license 🙌 Great question!
Honestly not too bad! It really depends on the area though - we've paid as much as around $1400/month in California and as low as $425/month in the Midwest. Monthly stays are definitely cheaper than daily though!
Space - Have you considered a fifth wheel? (truly makes a big difference) WiFi - check "Mobile Internet Resource Center" here in RUclips if you haven't done so, they are amazing at what they do and, are fellow Rv'ers.
We have! We looked at fifth wheels when we first started out. We just decided that we wanted something smaller. And yes, we love Technomadia! They're actually the reason why we found our hotspot device. We just have poor cell service in our current location.
Can someone break it down to me why so many couples do RV life. Like don't women see rv life as a serious red flag. The exception for this couple I see is she is a travel nurse sure but for other examples.

full time rving????? well????, it looks better in a toy hauler, why?, a couple of reasons, 1, your bed is in some up front with the kitchen , or the bed is over your dining area, which under the bed. 2,- most refrigerators are small, 8 to 12 cu. ft. but in a toy hauler i bought a large 7.0 to 14.5 cu.ft. freezers to store more frozen foods,. . cant do that in a travel trailer, or even in most 5th wheels. plus you can carry more outdoor items init. m/c, bikes, jet ski's quads, etc. im sorry you didnt buy a toyhauler
Buy a bigger RV.... Like a Toy Hauler.... I realize that you want to put a video out every week, but this is a bad topic.... When you go into Rving, You have to realize the down falls of it... My wife and I have owned several houses and every one of them had problems. That doesn't mean we would put out a video about those problems.... I want say I am not watching the rest of your videos, but I hope they get better..... Good Luck
Thanks for the feedback, Michael! We're glad we have the smaller RV, we just wanted to share some downsides - but we definitely still love full-time RVing overall! Thank you so much for watching 😊

Good ideas, Lauren! We may have to go back to the theater seats soon actually.
Since I've never been a full time RV'er I can't really completely understand what you go through, but having visited you, I DO know how cramped it can be. That's all part of the charm! Good video on a topic that many RV'ers know all too well.
Exactly! It can definitely feel small but minor compared to the pros 😁 and we love when you come visit!
Thanks for being real, you guys! We plan to start full timing next year and we'll be doing long term stays, so this is really helpful!
Our pleasure! Keep us updated on going full time! 😊

Outdoors RV is amazing quality and made to be used as a Full time home
you guys are so cute. Ist time watcher, look forward to future videos. I like the idea of staying in places longer that moving every few days.
Thanks so much! 😊 It's a great way to see the country
One good thing though, you guys are saving up pretty good. Thanks for the tips. Me and my husband are thinking of full time RV but we will see.
You can do it! Thank you so much for watching and keep us posted about full-time! 😊
Good points. I agree with the concerns about tanks and wifi. Those are probably the biggest concern for us too. We're not full timers but we do spend months at a time in our travel trailer.

Keeping it real!! Great content here 👌

Hahahahaha, you guys! This video is great! All things, all so true! Loved it!!!

Get Verizon and you will get internet all the time for about 120.00 a month.
We've heard good things about Verizon! For us it hasn't been a good enough option to go for yet. Thanks for watching!
Can't u just use your Hot spot wifi from your truck
Good question! Our truck does have a 3G package you can pay for. We don't pay for it, but you'd have to have the truck running to use it
