I owned an Emi 8 version. The one thing that I will say is that mine had a roasted maple neck and the side dots were TINY, seemed like less than 1.5mm. The white blended with the roast. I didn't understand why they don't do Luminlay > 2.5mm with the black outline. Especially since they consider themselves modern.
I went from a strandberg metal 8 to an emi 8 and I completely agree. It's a great guitar, but I do find myself surprised at the choice of inlays. They are definitely hard to see against the roasted maple.
Both guitars look so unique but playability is huge. They both have their pros and cons. So interesting how the frets are curved, I've never seen that before. Great video man!
@@Consolous they’re fanned, so you can have longer scale length (more tension) for low strings without having too much tension on high strings. They are not for ergonomics, that is just a subjective bonus some people experience.
The ergonomics of the Abasi guitars have always fascinated me, as well as the Kaizen models he did with Musicman. Have you tried Strandberg guitars before? They are impressively ergonomic. I'm a fellow Ibanez guy. Love the channel, and the vid. Keep it going dude
Well it's just the price is too high in my opinion unless you are some professional musician who really dedicate to invest in these gears, like I can got a used prestige for even lower price so I got no reason to spend that much for simply a concept😅 I really think companies like strandberg should rethink their price model
@@rs1357I agree. Like I said, I am an Ibanez guy and the value for the price point is so much better. The Abasi guitars, and others like it, fascinate me, but I likely will never be able to afford one.
Thank you! I haven't gotten the chance to play a strandberg yet but I was able to feel the neck on one brietheyrIts not for me personally but I can see how some people could appreciate the design, definitely an interesting idea!
I wish i liked the look of these more because conceptually they're pretty interesting, they definitely look comfy to play. Funny I never noticed the blade switch is horizontal lol that does seem annoying. In the end, I think I'm just too conditioned towards metal looking super strats to get anything else lol. Though this year I did buy my first guitar without a black finish so maybe there is still hope for trying new things 😅
Congrats! Nothing wrong with a black superstrat though, those are always a good choice. I'd say 6 strings will always feel like home to me but these bridge the gap pretty nicely and are very comfortable as far as extended range guitars go

Thanks! It definitely makes for a different playing experience, but it still feels like you're playing a guitar

They have a model called ēmi, you might like it
@@Marcus._ wow i'd seen the kaizen collab but never heard of the ēmi. that's definitely getting closer to something I'd like. neat, thanks!
They do and I'd love to try/get one! The timing has always never been right unfortunately
The newest one looks compact and comfy
It is!
