I bet if you boosted the treble before the distortion on the 8 it'd be the hands down winner. The bass vi does have a clearity and bite that the 8 lacks slightly.
I am torn. Because the Harley Benton Bass VI (it is technically designed as a bass, lol) has thicker strings but only a single coil pickup. The 8 string has thinner strings but a humbucker pickup. With this level of heavy distortion on both, I cannot tell if either spunds better. There's a definite difference in the pick attack and string response. But I probably oniy notice because I have played metal guitar for over 20 years as a hobby. 🤷♂️
You might be interested in the Schecter Bass VI. They have a model with mini humbuckers. I had one and it was diesel. You can always try swapping out single coils for a high output single sized hotrail. 🫡
As someone with a 30" baritone with humbuckers, im gonna swap them out for singles or p90s for extra clarity. And if you want thin strings then use thinner strings.
8 strings would use almost as thin of strings for the same tuning. You need 80 gauge plus for E1 tuning on 8 string. The strings that come factory on most 8 strings are FAR too thin to sound good at standard tuning of F#1 Bass VI usually come with 84 gauge on the E1. Barotines (B1 standard tuning) usually come with around 64 gauge. I am highly considering getting a sub zero bass VI. Around $200. The white one is out of stock until around June so likely stuck with the boring old school brown lool of order one soon but still get the humbuckers. The cheapest Harley Benton bass VI is around $220 but has single coils and one seen in that old school look
Very cool, pls more of these pairings! They both sound killer but I kinda love the single coil wireness. Do you have a P90 guitar? Would love to hear that.
Что за калибр на шестиструне? Питч шифтер использовался? Взял для баритона 20-90 и один гудеж, а у всех на подобных видосах струны меньше и валят дай боже
The tittle is VERY misleading. Cause this is a BASS VI vs 8 string NOT BARITONE vs 8 string. A baritone is actually just a 7 string without the high E4 This is a bass VI which is basically a 6 syring one octave down So tuning wise it is equal to an 8 strung tuned die. 2 semi tones minus string 1 E4 (D4) and string 2 B3 (A3) A BASS VI seems better for rythym where as a 8 string seems better fir lead.
Such amazing beasts of instruments. Unfortunately for me an 8 string neck is too wide and a bass vi is just too long. So i just stick with 7 strings for an audible drop tuning and then a pitch block to drop lower if need be. Its better than nothing 🤷♂️
Alex, как всегда высший пилотаж! Я на тебя смотрю, и понимаю в какую сторону мне двигаться, спасибо
Благодарю!
Baritone- Rhythm
8 String- Lead
Damn I would LOVE to lay my hands on that harley benton one day haha. Sick playing as always!
Thanks for watching man! Harley Benton is great for its price.

\m/
Thanks for your support!
Always inspirational brother 🤘
You need a vid shredding on a 5 or 6 string bass too🤜🤛
@@phillipgraf5917 thanks! I already have some bass videos on the channel actually
Hell Yeah! Impurity has become one of my favorite tracks of yours! So f*cking Groovy!
Thanks man!
I got to say I'm a massive Ibanez fan, and love that 8 string. sounds Sick and looks great too. sick as job on the video dude. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for watching!
8 string looks cooler but baritone is more practical
In a heavy context yes, but sometimes we need high strings lol
@@checkthedist yeah for sure! Idk what I’m doing up there I just need the 0s
The difference is wild, i own a baritione and 8 sting both sounds great but each of its own projects
Same, baritone lives in it's own world
OH HELL YEAH
nice video and sound!! really nice this ibanez design
Thanks for watching!

Awesomeness!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

@@everything-bagel , I may eventually. I own a Squier Bass VI. Need to budget for another.

The Harley Benton sounds more aggressive and scratchy, the Ibanez sounds more full and thicker
Both sound amazing and can definitely get shit done
Отлично!

Alex you are a reaper....period

Maybe someday I'll get one with p90
@@checkthedistI have the p90 version and it sounds really great in very low tunings like D
sexy riffing!

What expression pedal are you using good sir?
Очень тихий звук в видео. -24 дБ показывает на анализатор.
У меня нормально, обычная громкость.
What string gauges do you use?
24-84 on baritone, 10-74 on 8 string
@@checkthedist 74 is enough for Drop D on 27" scale? Jesus Christ how do you do it? I have a 11-85 on 25.5"-27" scale and it's too loose below Drop E.

24-84, без питча

Can a 30" scale baritone be a bass vi? Or bass vi can't count as an extended scale baritone?
С такой игрой можно хоть страт за 2 копейки брать, и будет eбашить
