I ordinarily HATE August (mostly because we've had quite a few people on both sides of the family pass on so we have many "sad memory" days) but you have TRULY had a terrible time of it this month! Your great sunny attitude puts my moping "I hate August" to absolute shame! Please don't push yourself too fast! Your progress is VERY encouraging! This vlog gave me a Really huge smile!
Don't worry, Ian is making sure I don't push myself too much :) I'm sorry Ausust brings sad memories for you. We have the same problem in September for the same reasons. All of this has just reminded me that you never know what is around the corner and you have to enjoy every single day. I'm glad the vlog gave you a huge smile and know that all the lovely comments I get always give me a huge smile :)
You poor thing …what are devastating ordeal to go through ….I see this video was a few years back but …since I’m binge watching your videos …it’s nice to see you made a full recovery….I’ve been watching all of your Disney trips 😂
When I was 11 something very similar happened to me and they were unable to give me a firm diagnosis, you've got me wondering if this is what happened to me! I had a wheelchair and then Zimmer frame through my first years of secondary school... not much fun! But you will get there! I'm 29 now and the only real remaining effects are that I suffer with pain when the weather is cold and have a lot of hot baths to warm by lower back and legs in the winter. Wishing you a speedy recovery, looking forward to your AKL blogs as we are booked to stay their NEXT November ! Ian , you're a top bloke, remind me a lot of my own husband (chris) with your kindness and patience. Love and best wishes Beth , Devon UK
I guess it could have been. What a time to have that happen when you're at Secondary school when things are hard enough as it is! Glad you made a good recovery though, it makes me feel positive for my recovery :)
Look at you and how much progress you're making! Cheering you on and hope that it continues to be forward progress for you. I imagine all of this has been so emotional to deal with. Hang in there!
Wow! I have never been for breakfast before! Doing that! Looks epic! So glad that you are seeing progress :-D I love your cankles and dinosaur steps :-) you're doing great! Xx
Hey Victoria! Love your Disney vlogs. I am sorry to hear about your health this must of have been very scary for you and my hear goes out to you and your family. I go to Disney every year and when my mom was going through chemo therapy we rented her a scooter from Apple scooter. It is awesome and very helpful! Also not tooo expensive for a week. They will drop and pick up the scooter at your hotel which makes things even better! Hope you get better soon!
Thank you :) I'll be looking into the different options for wheelchairs and scooters and will see how I am nearer the time. I contacted a couple of rental places and they said they usually have availability at the last minute so that's good :)
You are doing amazing! (super cute toenail polish by the way) Ian is also a great wheelchair driver 😀. Continued thoughts for your speedy recovery and hopefully you'll be almost good to go by your trip 😀🍀🍀
So glad to see you standing! Don't forget to do what the doctors say, even if you think you can do more. I didn't listen to them after my surgery which meant another surgery. I know you want to speed this up and get a move on, but your body needs your help trying to heal, too. I am the world's laziest person...until someone tells me to sit still and then I just want to do things that involve the word 'hoist'.
Hi Victoria, great to see you getting about. Glad the walking is improving, I think you are doing amazing. That breakfast looked awesome! Want one. Hope you're enjoying time with you brother and his girl friend. Much love, Cleone :) xx
Wow you are incredibly brave I love your Disney vlogs. I'm really sorry this has happened however you are incredibly brave and I know you will get through all of this x
Great video- glad you're up and about again! Keep progressing well and enjoy all your family looking after you- take plenty advantage of the help!! haha!
You can do this!! It's all about the baby steps, and you're doing great!! I think I remember you saying you were going to WDW in November alone... will Ian be able to go with you now? Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing future videos from you!
One of my friends is going with me as Ian wasn't able to take the time off. It will be her first trip to Disney World so she's super excited! We decided it just wasn't practical to wait until nearer the time to see how I am and then possibly not be able to go which would have been awful.
You look like you're making a lot of progress really fast! 😄I know you've said before about having problems with one of your feet, do they think it's related at all?
Hi Victoria, you're doing great! It's good to see you moving although I'm sure it can't be easy. Steroids sound so scary but if they're helping then I suppose the sides effects are something you learn to put up with but not being able to feel how much you're eating must be weird. Have fun with your brother and his girlfriend and keep up the good progress x
Hi Victoria!!! Oh my word you're doing amazingly well!!! Well done you!!! Steroids suck!!! I was on them for a year, and hated them, put on so much weight, so now I have my steroids injected directly into my spinal column, so some into the epidural cavity and then in between each of the vertebrae than need it!! It so much better! Ok I don't say that when the doctor sticks the huge needle in my back, but after!!! Your so brace letting your husband push you!!! Mine isn't allowed to!!! He's a danger driver!!! Keep going, but remember rest is really important too!!! Big hugs 🤗 xxx
Ha ha, I've had a few incidents so far when Ian's wheelchair driving is NOT up to standard! I really hate the steroids and with my movement being so restricted I'm really worried about the weight gain! I've got a schedule to gradually lower the dose over the next 5 months so hopefully the side effects will start to subsideonce I'm on a lower dose.
Oh my god I take those tablets exactly the same I call my feet elephant feet lol. I look like I am pregnant sometimes to old me. If it gets you better keep taking them . I can't eat big meals no more snacking is worse for me being type 1 diabete as well. keep going you look lovely and you can get out the house main thing . I have a wheelchair I can do myself big wheels at back . Hated it at first but now a whizz round clothes shops lol. Muscles in my arms coming on . you look so well honestly be proud sorry long blog xx hugs to both of you

Thanks Kara :) It has been tough but I've tried not to let it get to me and just focus on getting better as soon as possible :)
You are such a positive person. I think it's awesome you did your hair and makeup. Keep up what you are doing.

well done you're doing great. I'm a spinal orthopaedic secretary so I'm aware of the struggle, but all such positive signs...x
Thank you :) x
Looking beautiful despite your illness.
Ahh you look so much better! Keep in that good frame of mind and hopefully you'll be back to yourself in no time! :-)
Thanks Alex :)
You look like you're making a lot of progress really fast! 😄I know you've said before about having problems with one of your feet, do they think it's related at all?
They didn't think it was related. Maybe with all the physiotherapy I'll be able to fix the foot problem at the same time :)
