Hey Carlos thanks for watching the video. I have music on various platforms you can try Spotify open.spotify.com/artist/09EVg43W7G4NwD6ImxNSsI?si=PU8C6IPfTsK7DIVo-YhvQA
Cool song! How do you mute the output when MIDI notes AREN'T playing? Like if I'm wanting to do an occasional transition stutter on a lead vocal, I only want to hear the track when I play a MIDI note. By default, SE2 will play the vocals dry when a MIDI note isn't playing. ....gotta be a simple SE2 or Ableton solution (without manually automating track volume).
Yes absolutely. It is the sE4400a and is one of the best small form condenser mics I've ever heard. They're hand made, high quality and underrated. I did an unboxing video of it last year.
Great content man. I have the Console Fader coming to me in the mail. Question for you (Ableton): do you now include the VST3 on your default audio and midi tracks in your default template? Or do you manually add the plugins to each track when you move from production mode to mixing mode (assuming that is your workflow)? Also, what are the simple steps for recording automation (e.g., levels) in arrangement view when "riding the faders" on the Console Fader? That is what I most looking forward to when I get it up and running. Presumably I will also be able to record automations for drive, color, EQ, panning etc?
That's exciting man!! You'll love it. These days I literally just add the VST3 of Console 1 and have it already patched into my Ableton Template. You can automate the Fader 1 directly in Ableton Live's environment that way!
What would you say is the best way to record these FX into your track? Resampling? I'd love to be able to select certain sections that would trigger the effect instead of having to capture it live.
The way I would do it, is record the automation, especially if I was doing it live like I'm doing in this video, in a Midi trigger fashion. Then I would simply just bounce the audio out after the automation was recorded. I hope that makes sense.
@@EmlynInTheMix yes, exactly what I do. I resample (using the "bounce in place" max for live plugin - amazing workflow improvement!) several of the effects and then chop up and fade the audio clips in/out.
Surprisingly good bass response for their size. I got my friend a pair and he said he was confused as to how much bass could come out of such a small speaker. Haha. Translation wise - unbelievable I do 90% of my mixing on them now and a lot of my work involves professional mixes for commercial Radio and online which needs to be top notch and these out of all the speakers I've used translate the best with the most common ground. If I need more mid high detail I go to my Focals otherwise these are the best for all of my general work.
@@EmlynInTheMix Ok thanks. But can't make the setup in Reason 10. There you can't put Stutter edit or vocal synth 2 into a instrument track. I get the sound when a play and sing. But no effect when a listen to it after recording in midi mode. only audio mode.
Hmmmm yes Reason can be a bit fiddly when it comes to midi automation. Let me see if I can get it going in there. I’ll let you know if I have a solution.
@@EmlynInTheMixAny luck? I've set up midi mode in Reason 12. I playback the vocal sample in the audio track and it works fine. But as soon as I press record it just records over the vocal track with a blank recording. I just want to record the stutter edit trigger in parts of the vocal but it only works when played live, not when you record. Can't figure out.
This is my take. The effects with maybe the exception of the TT stop really didn't impress me. This is bad because I just bought this. I could see using this on background vocals but lead effects, I'd be a bit concerned if this is the best the plugin can do.
Fair enough, In all fairness for this plugin there is a hell of a lot of deep diving and parameter control over just about everything which wasn't covered in this video. Literally I was looking at the stock presets. When using these on main lead vocals I would bus this plugin and send an auxiliary to it to give subtle movement I wouldn't insert it on a lead vocal unless I was making some crazy ass music.
@@EmlynInTheMix It's a very good plugin, let me make that clear is just if you hear effects in hit tracks compared to just a quick and raw demo of it, the pro's sound more defined. This may be able to happen with this but just needs a little more tweaking. I believe I used this in conjunction with a transient shaper to get that sharp defined "glitch" I was looking for. Maybe there's some way to do that in SE2? I'm about to give it a go now.
I'm glad I didn't buy this. Something about it makes me feel like I'm not gonna use it all the time. I'm thinking it would be better to use on vocals. I do not mix songs with vocals so there's no need to use it. I'm just a composer/beatmaker.
Vocal demo start 05:00
Nice one ☝️, I liked your tutorial better then the manual 😂
Awesome! Glad you liked it 🤩👌
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video, also I liked your song reminds me of Empire of the Sun, where can I hear more of your music?
Look up bladee

What's your opinion about MTM monitors? Is there any bass in them? How the track is translated on the other speakers after mixing on them?

@@EmlynInTheMix Thank you for a detailed answer. I think I'm gonna buy them.
PS. You feel that you need more mid high information on MTM's?
Not necessarily just me been pedantic 😂 I do love the Focals top end though it’s crazy in comparison but it’s honestly unnecessary
Can I record in midi mode or is it just for live performance?
Of course you can! Just record your midi notes into the track where you have it connected to Stutter Edit 2.

So you can only do this with a piano key board?
You also can set the trigger notes in Midi-Editor, of course.
