Great tut. I had written off Stutter Edit 2 after trying the trial and watching a few YT vids until I saw yours today. Now I can see how this tool could be used in MIDI, audio, and split stereo effects. Nice. Thank you.
Nice demo. I got this on special today as an upgrade to version 1 which I've had pretty much since it came out. New features are nice, but wth happened to the interface? Version 1 was easy to follow, and easy to read making it really easy to come up with your own unique recipes. This looks abysmal. It's so dark it's almost impossible to read, and parameters just look randomly placed on the overall interface. Hope I can get used to it, otherwise I'll stick with the limited feature set of version 1. Afterall, its no good having features if the interface kills your inspiration to use it.
I figured how to use it but how do we record the midi input so it stays in the track? I can play my keyboard live but I don't know how to record the results. I tried to record the midi track of the plugin but it stays tranparent and does not playback the effects. If anyone can help, Thanks.
I don't understand why there is still a second track needed for feeding in the MIDI notes... With other plugins (e.g. Shaper Box) this is possible on the same track the plugin has been inserted.
You don't need the second track any more in 'auto' mode as I mention in the video. You can use the midi triggers if you want to trigger different presets in the bank at different times for creating fillls etc. but its totally useable just as a stand alone effect.
@@MarulaMusic Sure, but i often work with those MIDI input triggers, and this works much more elegant with Shaper Box on the same track. When i remember correctly playing the desired effect by using the built-in effects browser was already possible in the previous version of Stutter Edit.
@@rivella99 Not sure what DAW you are using but the way to set up MIDI triggers in Cubase for Shaperbox is exactly the same as Stutteredit 2. Check here... www.cableguys.com/midi-trigger-in-steinberg-cubase.html
What’s your name and RUclips page? Love your tutorials and I use Cubase mainly when I’m by using ableton. You explained everything very well. Looking forward to seeing more videos and demos.
The instructor is Protoculture, well known for his progressive trance productions. He does not seem to post much to his channel anymore, but it is here if you are interested: ruclips.net/user/protoculturevideos
I BELIEVE THAT THIS PLUGIN IS VERY USEFUL FOR ARTISTS WHO PLAY TRAP MUSIC. BUT USE WITH A SUBTLE SENSITIVITY IT MAY BE RELEVANT. IS IZOTOPE A SUPERB ASSISTANT? PERSONALLY I'M GETTING EXCALIBUR (THE SAME OF SOUNDTOYS RACK BUT IN A ANOTHER TONE) FOR 10 §. I HAVE GOT SOUNTOYS PLUGINS AND IN THE SYNTH TODAY I PREFERE USE EXCALIBUR. I WISH IZOTOPE THE SUCCESS IT DESERTS FOR THEIR NEW PLUGINS. THANK YOU PROTOCULTURE
DarthMacchio I don’t know this first hand, I don;t own this (yet).. but point being is that this is an uneducated answer. But read the whole thing as I do have some useful information. However, you might be able to automate the on and off, or (and this is based on personal experience with other plugins and this is the useful information), you could automate disabling and enabling the plugin as a whole.
It seems like you can explain things to people well, bc I read in the comments people being thankful to you. I personally couldn't listen to the recording of your voice with all that siblence! I think Izotope makes something for that...

How would you compare this to shaper box 2.

Izotope is Top !
Good overview!
Good review.

@@MarulaMusic Ah sorry, i mixed it up with the automation on the same track. Triggering MIDI is on a different track, also with ShaperBox, sorry.

Can you program Auto mode to only trigger on specific sections of a track, or is it limited to being on the whole time? Thanks!

@@brianred8 Thanks for the suggestion. Hope we get more tutorials for it. The BT/Izotope videos are little more than commercials.
