Elton was a prodogy as a child and you can hear it in his piano playing. Even though a lot of the piano could mistakenly be lost to some in the mix, here we hear all the subtle changes in its full glory. First off, this piano was a famouse piano used by many recording artists and was moved to trident studios I believe where Elton recorded this track. Im not sure how the piano was set, whether its mic placement or Eltons playing, or both. But it has a wonderful tone. Sounding mellow but really stringy when Elton digs in. I've listened to other artists playing the same piano back in this era, and it doesnt have the same tone, so maybe its to do with how its recorded and mixed. Going back to Elton on this track, you can hear how he varies the tune all the way through and never plays each verse or chorus exactly the same. He will vary it by improvising either playing up the piano or adjusting syncopation or both. His playing is quite simply genius. The fact he does all this and sings incredibly, along to it as well is just amazing. He has said, coming from a classical trained background, he moved to pop because of his small hands and the difficulty of playing some classical pieces. All I can say is. Thank god he did and weve been blessed by his music all these years.
What a great upload. It gave me a chill. This song is truly magical. I've been listening to to it for nearly 50 years, and it never loses its magic. Just hearing Elton's basic piano track alone, it's a very powerful song. I'm a piano player, and I learned a lot from Elton' in his early period, and even to this day, whenever I just play the intro to "Tiny Dancer", people always say, "I love this song!" I think everybody does. Thanks again for the upload!
This song is a great little hidden gem playing in Almost Famous when Russell comes to William's house. Most websites says it's Bron-Yr-Aur by Zepp, but this is what plays in most of that segment.
How can you seperate piano from the original soundtrack ? Do you use any special software ? I'd like to do such things on Elton's live performance. That artist is incredible. He never plays his songs twice the same way
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band. Pretty eyes, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man. Ballerina, you must have seen her, dancin' in the sand. Now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand. Jesus freaks, out in the streets, handing tickets out for God. Turning back, she just laughs, "The Boulevard is not that bad." Piano man, he makes a stand in the auditorium. Looking on, she sings the songs. The words she knows, the tune she hums. Oh, how it feels so real, lyin' here, with no one near. Only you, and you can hear me, when I say softly, slowly... Hold me closer, tiny dancer. Count the headlights on the highway. Lay me down in sheets of linen. You had a busy day today. honestly, i started learning this by looking up the chords to the song and playing it by ear. other than the notes up top, he sticks to the notes in the chords a lot, and i think that’s one thing that makes his songs so cool to play on piano. you can hear in his live recordings that he doesn’t have one specific way of playing all of his songs, he just knows the chords and goes along with whatever he thinks fits. that’s usually the way that i play his songs on the piano
There's a tutorial that's very close to this arrangement: ruclips.net/video/3ZG7WxciOfs/видео.htmlsi=QU8GwHxk4CYRxKHL If you want the sheets, google Elton John's music café and go to the "desserts" section, there, you will find Tiny Dancer. Click on "score" and you will download the music sheets.
@@octaviocamacho8023 Oh wow, indeed it comes quite close, thank you!! Just that they don't offer the score in a link below. But at least something :D!
Steinway & Sons in the 1970s usually. He did compose this song on his mother's upright piano. Look for the video on youtube of Elton John composing Tiny Dancer in 1971 I believe. He is playing it on a white upright piano in his mom's house.

This is my favorite song of Elton’s.
One of my all time favorite pictures of Elton!

For me, during his 70's period Elton John composed some of the best songs ever.
@@user-os9pu4vm5v You won't hear any argument from me!
This is seriously brilliant.
Absolutely fantastic!

So awesome. Do you have his other songs piano isolated?

Yamaha piano?
What type of piano did Elton use? Was it the Abbey road piano?
