  • Real estate photography is often the underdog of the photography world, living under the shadow of the more glamorous photography niches like headshots, portraiture, or landscape.
    Professional photography is more important than ever to sell real estate. The purpose is to sell a property by taking pictures of exteriors and interiors. Photos should show the space, features of the home, lighting and the layout of the home.
    If you are new to real estate and architecture photography, here are some general guidelines to start you on the right path.
    I will answer the following questions:
    What is a real estate photographer?
    Is real estate photography profitable?
    So how much does a real estate photographer make?
    What camera equipment do you need?
    What are some shooting techniques and settings?
    What exteriors or interiors should I use?
    What is the best camera height?
    What is the best exposure?
    What are some tips for processing or retouching the photos?
    How do I deliver the photos?
    How do I manage the administrative tasks like booking, sending invoices and collecting money?

    This was incredibly comprehensive and easy to understand with just the right amount of detail for an experienced photographer. I have been shooting all kinds of photography for many years and always avoided real estate photography thinking it was too complex/specialized and too many pro's already in that space. However, this video puts a whole new light on it for me. Thank you. I will put your knowledge to good use and I have subscribed and liked. Thanks!

    Oh yes he just gave us the blueprint!!! I'm a photography hobbyist but I'm getting kind of serious about it and would love to do it full time.

    Thanks for the video. I am an avid hobbyist photographer and am retiring from my 'day job' this year and am going to do pet photography as a side job (basically to fund my very expensive hobby, and my pets are some of my favorite subjects). I was visiting my son this month, who is a real estate agent, and was helping him with how to video his properties for social media and the proverbial lightbulb went off in my head, heh, someone is probably doing this professionally so googled it and lo and behold :)

    What's the difference between HDR MERGE on Lightroom and ENFUSE Plugin you are talking about?

    • @ShootingRealEstate
      @ShootingRealEstate  6 месяцев назад

      Enfuse came out many years ago before Lightroom integrated HDR merge into its product. The new HDR merge works great and is easy to use and the results are great.

    Thanks for this great introductory tutorial on RE photography. It’s about the only paid photography I haven’t done yet. Do you think I can get by with 20mm lens (on a full-frame camera)? It’s the widest i have at this time. Thanks again, great video!

    • @ShootingRealEstate
      @ShootingRealEstate  10 месяцев назад +1

      I prefer really a really wide zoom lens like the 12-24 for the versatility. A 20mm would work just great. As you get better and shoot more, think of investing in a more diverse lens so you can shoot faster.

    Hey Scott! When you are doing both photos and video for a property , are you changing the camera settings much in between? What are your settings for both generally?

    • @ShootingRealEstate
      @ShootingRealEstate  10 месяцев назад

      I have the camera settings for photos and then separate settings for video. With the newest Sony A7 IV I can not have presets in camera for each type of shoot. I generally have a preset for Photo Interiors, Photo Exteriors, Video Interiors and Video Exteriors.

    Is 15-45mm good enough ?

    • @ShootingRealEstate

      That's the perfect range that is most useful for real estate.
