Been a fan of the minds since the 80's but this vid caught my eye cause the biggest criticism I'd level at the band is that they are piss poor at fan engagement. If you think I'm wrong, try send them a fan email via their official site,?!
Hi I’ve never tried but there is no doubt about their warmth towards their fans in this video. It was one of the main reasons I posted it. We’ve met Jim before and he was happy to chat away and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say. I guess like most huge bands they don’t handle any of their fan communications as that would be more than a full time job and we’d never see them tour or hear new music. My wife and I left the concert feeling they were the best band in the world, down to earth and fully appreciative of their fans. Thanks for your comment on the video, makes me pleased I did post it, if it’s given you a slightly different perspective on them. Cheers G
@@RealScotrocks Hi Graham. Cheers for reply & giving me a different perspective. Genuinely. My bleat came from personal disappointment after reaching out cause I was, still am, huge fan. My intro to the band was early 80's. Initially thought not for me, mates dragged me to gig at SECC and they were so good it blew me away. I was a fan from there on in. I take on board your comments about fan comms being demanding. Cheers.
Years ago back in 1990 I found out where Jim lived and went and rang his doorbell. Not only did he answer but came down ( it was a flat) and spoke with my sister and I and signed my Street Fighting Years book. How's that for fan engagement. He could have told us to pi** off.
Thanks Elizabeth that’s good to know. Joni Mitchell has been one of those artists in the background for me and I’m going to have a serious listen now and to Nina Simone. Thanks G
Sorry to be pedantic, Chuck, but you should no better! So, i'll follow DB's often strict lead on this, and remind you its pronounced 'BOW-ee' not 'BOO-ee' 😎
Best band on the planet!❤
Yep and they are totally on it right now !!
She's there to ask a simple question, but just won't shut up. I love nervous fans 😂
My favourite track is “ I belong to Glasgow “ or ‘ Yi canny shove yer granny aff a bus’

@@pameladiamond9603 did you just openly admit to stalking and harassment Pamela? Surely no! 😜
They probably picked up on your neurotic disposition and didn’t want to encourage you any further
Joni Mitchell is bliss. I’m with the bass player. ❤

@@RealScotrocks I’d start with the LP, ‘ The Hissing of Summer Lawns’. Enjoy!
