Building my 1966 f100 from start to finish. Slideshow starting with a rough f100 and mountaineer and putting the best of both together for a cool street truck
I watched a few of the videos on this swap. I build hot rods and custom cars. I have never been a big fan of frame swaps because so much extra work has to be done. The original frame has the right wheelbase and with a bit of work different front and possibly rear suspension can be grafted in. It already had a 9" rear end in it. The 5.0 swap is very easy with the original frame and later motor mount towers. You can buy headers for the 302 in a Ford truck for less money. You did a lot of good work but I would also say there are better ways with less work.
Yeah, I build a lot of custom cars and this is how I wanted to build mine. The Origional frame is very weak, newer boxes frames are stronger. show me how many do these swaps and make them right?….. anyone who can pick up a wrench can stick an engine in a frame and say they are a car builder
great job on the truck man, I love frame swaps because of the creativity, reliability and longevity of it. You could daily drive this thing and even be safe from collisions because of the air bag. Nice work!
Finally something different and useful, every other truck I've seen has had a crown Vic swap that only makes the bed unusable. Now I know that a explorer or mountaineer would be perfect. Nice job indeed, I'm not knocking others for doing their own thing I just think it's a relief to see an under rated truck used as a donor.
Well I didn’t want to use a 4.6, I’m a big fan of the 5.0 especially with the gt40 heads and Intake along with 8.8 rear so that’s why I used the mountaineer, I’ve done several cv swaps and they are too wide of a wheel base so you can’t run a wheel de wheel where on this you can run a 15” wide wheel with no problem

Way too much negativity on RUclips. Your project came out fantastic, and I certainly appreciate all the work that went into it. My only ounce of criticism, nah not criticism just my two cents, is that the piano music for the first three minutes had me looking for Charlie Brown and the gang, lol! Jokes aside, don’t listen to the negativity, you do great work; keep it up!
Did the frame swap lower the truck body or did you have to make it submit? I have a 67 short bed and would like to do something similar. I’m going to watch the 62 swap with the Mustang after this.
My swap just like the unibody swap are both on shorter wheel base vehicles, mine although I could have moved the axle back 2” to make it correct just sectioned the fender and moved it in 2” to make wheel well look right. The unibody build had the bed shortened and wouldn’t look right using a short box bed. I have more videos on my channel of this build and I did lower the suspend but the cab is mounted using mounts I built to use the factory f100 cab location. The unibody is wended into the mustang so it’s just like a car without a full frame

Lol probably is. The reason the music is the way it is, I had a copywriting claim so had RUclips lol replace the music, and thanks for the comment
Great videos man. Looking forward to more!
Black makes it aggressively nice.👍👍👍👍👍
I sure like the way it came out. 😁
Since this video it now has all bed in black, all interior in black with TMI seats and panels and boss classic wheels.
@@1194video I like the way it looks great job putting it together!🤔
@@henrygibson1530 thank you!
Well done bud!
Nice work looks awesome
Feel bad for the mountaineer but at least most of it is saved by this swap so some how lives on.
It was a parts only title so couldn’t be driven as a mountaineer
Love it!
Nice truck. I just bought a 1966 today and I can't wait to get to work. What brand is the hood flip kit you installed?
It didn’t have a brand when I bought it, it was a prototype made by the guy that came up with it, I know he was out of Arizona I think

No so ill fix that right now.
Pretty nice for a FORD!!! Lol
Haha !!!
Nice
I'm currently doing a 60 F100/mountaineer project and have some quick questions.
Ask away
What did you do with the other hood?
I swapped the cowl hood for a stock hood to a guy running around town
Very curious about the black wheels you used and specs man. Nice build!
ESR SR-12
Was curious what did u get the hood scoop from
Srt-10 ram, a friend sold it to me when he changed hoods so I cut and welded it to the steel 66 hood
I think I missed it, what year was the mountaineer?
2000
@@1194video thanks! Great job on the build. I am looking forward to more of you Crown Vic subframe installation videos.
