Have the same saw. 2013 model i got new in march. I know my local dealer pretty well or else i normally wait until booneville to buy shit every year. I almost bought a stihl ms461 but got a good deal in the husky 372 and couldn't resist. Great videos! Keep them coming!
Cool I was hoping someone else on here goes up to Booneville. Cant beat the prices up there when it comes to saws especially if you buy a couple. The 372 is a great saw havnt used a 461 but someday I might try one. Thanks for watching I will being doing at least 2-3 videos a week!
Good video man, I work for a guy land clearing in ct , and we sell our saw logs , I was taught to cut the same way , and I use the 372xp with a 24 , great all around saw ! Thumbs up
When using a chainsaw for a business time is money. I like the larger power heads with shorter bars. The 385xp and 395xp is a great addition to your 372xp. I like to run the 404” chain on the larger saws I save buying chains two to one with the 404” chain. I also use the skiptooth saw chain on the longer bars.

My next saw for sure... Just bought a set of Husqvarna chaps, all black & used them 3 times already. Been meaning to do this for 45 years now, better late than never! Bought a replacement screen for my Husky hardhat as well, been worn out for the last 12 years. Good all around saw, checking around on pricing currently. Back to cutting firewood today. Great review, thank you... :-)
I bought my 372xp new in 2019 it came with a 24” bar , I went ahead and bought a 28” bar to go with it. I knew I was going to be in some good size timber. The 372xp is a great saw for 70cc 5.5hp. Handle the 28” bar like it should. But I prefer using the 24” bar.
Thanks for the video. I just bought a 365 x torq and thought it was interesting that you mentioned the 365. Got the 365 because I thought it looked better than the 372 because of the bump at the air filter looks big on the 372. Bigger air filter cover-top kinda bothers me on the 372, I am used to looking at other saws, wont mention a name. guess there's a simple conversion kit I can buy for the 365 to make it a 372. My opinion the 372 works great. Cuts fast. soon the EPA will have emission regulations on these older saws and you wont be able to buy them new. buy a couple for the road if your a serious woodsman-logger.
CJ Motorsports and 3B Timber? I live in Woodgate, ten miles from Boonville. I go there and Hudson's the Sthil dealer in Barneveld. I get my Husqvarna 340 and 353 serviced there, spare chains. Bought a Husqvarna snowblower and push mower from them too. Good people and service.
Great video! I have an 05 Husqvarna 365 Special :). Done firewood growing up for years, big timbers etc! Have a 16" an 20" bar for it, been a great saw since new! :).
I have the 575xp bought it brand new. I noticed by the time it had cut 20 cords on it she was broken in and really starting cutting. That ethonal fuel sucks. The Husqvarna 50:1 mix in the can rocks.
I started mine this past weekend when my new Stihl 250 stalled. Put some TruFuel in it, cranked it up and after maybe 5 pulls, the 372xp started right up and I ended up using it all day. I hadn't used the saw for at least 12 years, worked like it was brand new. I also purchased a Stihl FS 560 last week and used it over the weekend as well. Its a clearing saw, I highly endorse it. Its a beast if you're clearing forest of brush and trees under 6" in diameter. Cuts through them like butter, and I mean warm butter. Just a swing of the saw, and its gone. Pure awesomeness.
Curious about the 572 I've owned a 372, really liked it, exchanged it for a 562. I have used a 576, but found that a bit bulky for the power it delivered. Maybe the 572 gives the power of a 372, with autotune, which i like. Preferably it gives us a bit more...
The Easter Mountain Scion I'm hoping the 572 is a good as I think it will be. I have 562 also, and really like if for smaller timber and limbing pine/hemlock
First material is now appearing on youtube, it seems to be a nice saw! I hope to get one soon, the cutting season is just about to start here. Cheers fom the Netherlands
Btw if u ever notice an inconsistent idle its the coil, bought an unlimited from Bailey's online, made a dual port muffler out of old Mac muff cover and it runs solid my fav saw.
Jon Morse My bad I didn't see this, it makes a big difference but you have to tune the carb richer or it will run lean. Way more bottom end in big wood.
Great work jon. Love the 372! Why not get the W model with wrap bar, large spikes and upgraded oil pump? Also, why not do your face cut first? Your notch angle seemed way too steep as well. But whatever works best for you ..... I worked in the woods years ago and learned the hard way the value of saw chaps. I never cut without them now. Thanks for sharing man!
@@jacobgomez2682 Amazon or ebay, it makes tuning easier because when its running lean you can hear it instead of just sounding rich while its on the rev limiter and you keep turning the screw! That's killed alot of saws.
@@jacobgomez2682 If you're tuning a husky you'll have to get a splined carb adjustment screwdriver. Its like a female allen head screwdriver. Otherwise you'll only have a quarter turn with a screwdriver, its a two part screw, spline on outside screw on inside thats limited.
@@Jonthelogger ya just send it saws and new england saws sell them with oem carbs, for some reason the origanals dont tune and can tend to lean out destroying the saw🤙
great review but personally for average cutting i really like the 262 with 16 inch bar 3/8th pitch chain it was lighter to carry easier on the back but plenty fast to get most everything seen you cut on the ground. i did have a reserve saw for the big stuff it was a brute but loved it. A Shindawa 975 24inch bar it was an ugly beast but it had a ton of power and speed for the true monsters. Keep up the great work you show alot of professionalism.
Ken Jett hey thanks I appreciate that compliment. The guy that I learned a lot from cut wood for last 35 years and swore buy a smaller bar, he could put a ton of wood on the ground in a day. I've been thinking about going back to a 20inch bar lately, my 372 rips a 20 way better than a 24.
Its more snow and winter in connecticut at 40 and something degres NORTH, than IT is at 60 degres at the west coast of Norway, nearly no winter so far this year
So, you make the notch... then cut into the notch. Aside from making OSHA have a massive cardiac shit fit, why did you do that? I can honestly say I've never seen that before.
evojigger Interesting. My old man was a timber feller in the 80s and early 90s and he doesn't do it so I was curious. I'm certainly not saying this guy is in the wrong, although by OSHA logging standards they would have a coronary. I don't think this video is a "logging" operation, though so it's no skin off my ass. If it is (I do see orange tree markings)... shhh. Nobody saw anything
top dollar hardwood trees I always bore out the center for fiber pull and helps with any chance of barber chairing. I do not by any means cut all the way across the hinge, I only am cutting through the center of the hinge. I would never do this technique with a soft wood tree or something with side lean. This is also a large job we were cutting, 350k bored feet. They marked trees along the road leading into the job to open it more. we cut about 6 miles of road trees.
Other great saws for the money and power is echo timber wolf 590 or echo 620 p!!for the money and power and realiabilty u can't beat these saws they get over looked
Love husqvarna but 372 xtorq is a total dog as shown in the first 30 seconds of cutting they suck. The old 372's are much better more reliable more power. If I was this guy I would have bought a 390xp. Little more weight but it would spin that 24" like nothing.

like your video but remember to wear safety trousers, safety shoes, and a helmet with eye and ear protection Per, Norway
most important are the ear protection, he will lose his hearing when he s older.
The helmet ist the only fing he s wearing and the less needed. ^^

When you did the center bore, you started with the top part of the chain. Bores should start with the bottom of the chain.
He stuck the bar parallel to his cut and rotated it in. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way he did that. It’s called having skills.
I've never seen so much cutting on the "top" of the bar.
has a lot to do with finishing on the good/safe side of tree. I try not to cut with the top of the bar but sometimes its unavoidable
