    Way back in Ultima Online days it took so many hours to train a dragon. Once I was able to it was soo powerful. I was able to rent a space at the stables for it the same day I got it before logging off for the night. The next morning my guidlmates talked about how it went on a rampage and was def not in the stable lol. One of my all-time favorite memories in an MMO.

      Yes! Tamer was OP back then, and it took a long time to level as well. Which is one of the reasons I have to disagree with the guys on this one. I think anyone can have a mount and a non-combat pet if they want one, but combat pets should be for the tamers and summoners. It should also be alot of hard work to get a good one. If they are just going to give combat pets away, maybe the player should have to give up a character level. The higher class of pet, the more levels you have to give up.

    The combat pet and mount I want would love to have in Ashes of Creation would be a Phoenix/Thunderbird hybrid aka the Thunder Phoenix that can heal and shoot fire and lightning at it opponent. The combat mount would be a Dragon Hound looks like a dog 🐕 with two horns on it snout like a rhino 🦏, gills so it can breath under water, dragon wings on it back, and a Trident 🔱 like tail. Dragon Hound had the ability to change it size, breath fire, and able to find hidden gold, loot, or quest items in Aches of Creation.

    I like the fact that everyone gets a combat pets or combat mounts. I would even love if you could share one skill with your pet or mount and the Summoner could share more skills with their pets and mount.

    I LOVE the idea of my mage/rogue having a wolf or hawk companion or a tiny blue wyvern.. even if it dampens the damage I do. If the utility is something like warning of danger, reading weather patterns or beast-sight where we can control the pet for a time. How much FUN it would be to fly around as a raven within a certain range or duration..
    Fitting through hard to reach places to retrieve a material or scouring ahead as a wolf. If they’re big enough to double as your mount, lit,

    As a Hunter main from WoW, I was always a big fan of Wolves. I always had a battle boar tho for tanking. I even had one that would offtank in MC back in vanilla, I had to multi task (ADHD helped with that) to manage the pets aggro and always had to have heals ready for him but my Armored Battle Boar Blitzkrieg was a beast!

    It would be neat if bonding played a role in the way a pet behaved. How well you trained, cuddled, fed and cared for your pet could influence personality and performance. ❤

    5:59 Got a bad feeling that only thing that will differentiate ppl with regular combat pet and summoner is amount of minions you have.
    I fear that we wont have variety of ways to control your pet and their role in pvp and pve. Summoner archetype worries me the most.
    7:09 Hard disagree. I believe majority of classes should rely on their own kiting skills. Leave pets to classes that are either summoner or have summoner secondary archetype.

      This is the first game that is going to possibly allow my mage a proper wolf companion that isn’t some spirit beast or eldritch horror, fairy, demon etc. I couldn’t be more stoked and will gladly give up a profession slot if I have to advance in hunting or animal husbandry to get that wolf. Take my fire spells, give wolf.

  • @KrakhunGames

    After looking at the wiki, this seems like it should be easy. If you want a combat pet you need to level up hunting. Novice can have a jackalope (players can be Novice of every skill), Apprentice can have a wolf, Journeyman can have a bear, Master can have a dire wolf, and Grandmaster can have a dragon. That seems like a common since way to let anyone have a combat pet that wants one. And the players can decide what suits them and their play style best.

    Other things they could do besides damage;
    SHould also affect magic power, including healing.
    Skill cooldowns might take longer. You don't lose the skills, they just are available less often.
    The pet being a skill on the bar only works if there's a fixed number of skill slots. This is what Guild Wars 1 did. Summon pet took up one of the 8 slots on your bar (Ranger Primary or Secondary)

    I don't think you will lose anything from your base class for adding Summoner as your secondary class. Adding any other subclass would add damage and all other sorts of things. Adding a pet is what you get but you don't get the depth any other class would add. So that would be the drawback.

    I think a combat pet for a group of 2 or less is a cool idea. This is executed very well in Monster Hunter: World. The Palico pets provide utility in place of missing two other PCs. They can drop a heal, taunt, help carve off parts of a monster.
    With that being said, I think I’d rather have a henchman or merc, like something out of Dragons Dogma or Diablo
    Not complaining but I got an email about this vid and thought I’d have to wait until you released it to the unpaid plebs (cest moi).
    Thanks for the awesome content!

    I cant wait to see how they implement pets. I personally would be ok with them taking away from skills instead of stats but only if the pet skills were impactful enough. It would truly make them feel like a part of your character/build and not just used as a solo friendly tank or zerg friendly cheese. Would be cool and thematic if they even gave the Beastmaster (Summoner/Ranger) or Falconer (Ranger/Summoner) some pet related bonuses big or small. From some tiny stat bonuses all the way up to bonus hotbar slots for either more pet skills or some of your actual class skills. But that all depends if augments are game changers or just ultimately theme changers.
    Assuming pets arent only used for combat, one pet skill i would like to see is a Hawk or other flying pet have a utility scouting skill. Use the skill and you get to use the hawk as eyes in the sky up to a certain distance away similar to assassins creed odyssey. Could add mechanics like if you fly low you can get actual information but could be shot out of the sky, or fly high to be safe but only see the characters and not names/classes ect

    • @nanfoodles
      @nanfoodles 4 месяца назад

      @@CasabianN-xr5scBut they won't but people are not all the same. Their goals and desires will be different. Do you want a Cleric with a pet or do you want to have the best ST heals. Then your going Cleric/Cleric. Do you want a cool tank pet with your ranger or do you want better stealth, so you need Ranger/Rogue. My Bard does want that Warbler though lol

      Not everyone will just because they can if there is a COST. If there was only advantage yes it would be the meta to take one but if players have to choose, many will NOT bother with pet AI which is notoriously buggy and risky anyway. There is no harm at all in allowing people to include a wide variety of pets into their role play because many of us will have one just for the sake of the RP who do not like playing traditional pet classes like warlock or ranger. Some of us have waited ages for this aesthetic as mages or rogues.

    Have to keep in mind that this game is PVP focused and the goal is to have large scale pvp battles. They also plan on having a normal pet and a battle pet so you will be carrying around multiple pets contributing to server instability. You all agreed that too many pets is bad but that is the plan for the game.

    Healers actually make good use of pets. While the pets do all the dirty work, the healers, do their thing, as if they're supporting real players.
    To compensate, their healing and buffing are more potent on their pets

      Didnt get a clear answer, but when I asked about druids on forums one of dev replies was that there isn't shapeshifting tied to any class, but there are ways you could do it outside of it.
      It was very vague. My theory is that shapeshifting is tied to one of those world augments or something you choose outside of your class like combat pets.
      As someone who mained Druids in every MMO, this is very important to me too.

    Wouldn't the logical penalty to having a pet be a negative xp multiplier? i don't see how having a pet would make you weaker, or need to sacrifice an ability. You would be "sharing" the kills with the pet, so you should lose xp.
