"This is a pvp game" is a cop out. Is your goal to make a game that is ultimately toxic for players who don't want to PVP? This cop out just suggests that you should not play the game if you do not want to be shat on by other players. Welcome to bankruptcy.
PVE players ARE NOT content for PVPers. Games are already doing this and they are full of elites griefers and the games ultimately fail. Easiest way around this, is PVE and PVP servers. Possibly, a way around this is to not let more powerful players attack weaker people.

The only area I'd like to see no pvp is the starting zone. That's it. However, I would REALLY like to see some type of bounty system. I want people to WANT to be a hero. Example, a party get's wiped at Highwayman Hills, another player comes and loots all those bodies. I would like to see a system where a player can fight the player deemed corrupted or a known thief, and if victorious, would then be given a quest opportunity to return those items to the original players for a reward. In turn spreading their name and their good deeds to push whatever story they are telling with that character. I want people to WANT to defend caravans and help those in need. Currently there isn't enough reason to be the good guys other than people's perception of you, if they remember you.

Im fine with if a town guard kills you while red. You will risk dropping 1 random pieces of gear. Now, you can kill someone, but the price is not worth it. Also make more archer guards.
No safe zones... freehold resources should be available to be stolen (flagging when trying to harvest). There should be no safe spaces outside the instance housing they were talking about.
Consenting to war sounds goofy.
With my experience in Phase 1 and phase 2, they need to have a cooldown on node wars of about 1-2 days to give the residents a chance to recover, Guild wars should be limited by how many guilds can dec on you at a time as some of these bigger guilds have 2-12 subguilds that all dec at once. They should be 1 guild vs. 1 guild, not 1 guild vs. 6 guilds... this will put a limit on these zerg guilds and big pvp guilds that just overwhelm the smaller guilds by shear numbers. I am for pvp but it needs to be controlled and balanced.
Guards should definitely be a thing, but not impossible to kill and their level should depend on a node progress level. That would make areas safe from all classes except rogues, which would also improve class identity of being assassin for hire. Edit; By that, I mean they are the only class that would be able to escape the guards by vanishing.
Add bounty system on top of all that and you have a winning combo. Bounty hunters should be excluded from guard aggro
@@sospokemika1197I agree with that with the clause that bounty hunters should only be “immune to guard aggression” to corrupted/wanted targets.
At least give us hard to kill guards, so griefers will think twice before attacking someone. I agree with Sunny, but I wouldn't go as far to be a ''suicide mission''...

Any area you are doing crafting or banking, should be a PvP safe area. There is no risk reward, its just a pure ambush easy picking situation. You should not need a guild escort to make a bow. Or someone looking to buy something just so they can kill you at the bank over paying you for the items you pulled out of the bank for them.
If crafting and get killed in town I quit. Guard standing next to me. I QUIT. Name is Cruda. And no response is Rust. Wasted about 10 minutes in rust so.

Yes. Temples, Markets, Housing, Warehouses, Embersprings. Even Tibia an open world pvp, full loot drop, experience loss on kill, there were safe zones.

Ok I have a lore friendly and still hardcore pvp idea reguarding guards in cities allow mayors and towns invest tax’s into a budget for guards so some towns can have more guards with better gear and a town that wants to be more lawless saves tax money with less guards and softer gear? Thoughts? I feel that’s lore friendly and might make people want to go to certain towns based in play style do you prefer safer towns or more lawless?
That's a really interesting idea!
I love the idea of the mayor hiring more guards and being able to upgrade them for safer cities. I also think it would be cool if in the future, much like they intend to change the appearance of the city depending on the race that primarily contributed to the node, if the city looked different if their crime/murder stats are high. Maybe darker alleys, patchwork/damaged buildings, trash in the streets, etc. (and the inverse for safe cities)
And unprotected cities are more dangerous but cheaper like a black market city!

Current state of the game - Guild. Release or once they have many more fully functioning nodes - Citizenship. The wild card is going to be mega guilds like Pirates who have complete ownership over several nodes, potentially an entire biome that will most likely be close together and vassalized by the main guilds node so that players dont have to run across the world for their specific artisan skill. Pretty much like what Lyneth had during Phase 1 where all the nodes coordinated their buildings. For them citizenship and guild is essentially the same thing

Guild, some guilds don't even bother becoming citizens, they just go wherever they need to be.
I think it's an interesting conversation. We actually ended up thinking Node > Guild. The arguments for Guild are that you want your guild grouped together for voting or events like Node Wars and Sieges. However, I think a lot of the conversation is player-focused more so than Guild-focused. Especially on the artisan side. If you need to be an alchemist and another guild member needs to do animal husbandry, the players are more likely going to want to be in the Node that benefits them most primarily with storage and other aspects. So while right now where the map is small, you can argue that having the guild in one node and travelling for their artisanship is probably better for the group, I think in the long-term the node system will win out over guilds. It will become the topic of which Vassaled Node Group are we as a guild going to and less of a which Node are we going to?
Guilds currently are in such a rough, meaningless state, that it is hard to compare them. I am glad they will be improving that experience soon, but it is not soon enough. #Warborn

If we get an incentive system for defending caravans.. then I also want to be able to deny people from joining the defense of my caravan. Just for when like I have a crew and I just don't want the randos around.
*The solution is even easier than that.* *Blue Level, Commission Board Caravan Defense quest.* *Up at all times, but alternates between Lionhold and Samia's Hope.* *Even easier, Clicking Defend automatically gives you the Caravan Defend Quest.*
Yeah, making you go to Lionhold or SH is a deal breaker. I already hate having to go to my home node to re-pickup commissions, and I am already in town at least once a day. It being an automatic quest accept when you... accept the defend quest, lol... would make a ton of sense and dramatically increase the chance people actually help defend.

Mages have huge utility, wdym? They can give their element to another player and can trigger every elemental combo/debuff.

If I get 2years for $120 is easy buy, some people even believe its3+ years out still. Ton of game time for $120 in my opinion, but I respect that$120 is a lot of money in today’s inflated economy.
When a random low level defends my caravan I usually give them 10-20s just to encourage that behavior. But we definitely need some intrinsic reward for defenders.
I play music and shoot the wagon with speed boosting pep. I usually get a gold.
I think you guys misunderstood the crafting/adventuring question. The concern is, for example, by the time an Armor Smith can craft level 10 gear, the vast majority of the community is already level 20 making crafting not feel impactful to the community. I'm fine not being max level if I focus on crafting but I would like to be useful to my guildmates who are max level by providing them with great gear. I worry, for instance, that artisans will not have any impact in the event of a node siege.
Yeah, the node is the real throttling force in the game right now, and is an artificially heavy handed one currently. Imagine if you could not get past level ten (combat level) until your node reached tier 3 and you donated 3000 blue swords and 9000 occular eyes or something as similarly stupid...
When siege weapons come online you can craft those, I would imagine wall repairs will be a thing

The incentive for defenders is the glint multiplier. Caravans are not PvE gold funnels.

Something similar to a train service may be solid or some kind of equivalent. Predictable drop off points on its path. Fee's based on the entry location. Maintenance materials for tracks and transportation maybe. This wouldn't be too used for urgency but may be solid for a travel across the map while making dinner or something.
