- Ammoudia is a lovely village on the northwest coast of Greece in the region of Epirus. Hills and mountains surround it. The village has several hotels and villas for renting and a large and wide sandy beach. To the left-hand side of the beach is the delta of the Acheron River. So, this is one unique place, so small and quiet that you have a feeling that time has stopped. The river is calm and shallow, so you can relax in the shade of trees along the river, observe various aquatic life, and take photos. Boat trips are available if you wish. In the small taverns lining the port, fresh Greek, regional, and international cuisine, including seafood specialities, are served daily. Ammoudia Beach is ideal for water sports such as skiing, jet skiing, sailing and diving. The water's temperature suddenly changes from warm to cold as the Acheron River enters the sea in this golf. The beach is sometimes windy, while the sunsets are beautiful. Visitors can also find restaurants, pizzerias and cafeterias. Campers usually use plenty of natural shade on the left side of the beach. There is parking right next to the beach and a campsite. The beach is long and wide enough to have space for a relaxing stay for all visitors, those who use the sunbeds, and those who have their own equipment. It is shallow for the first 100m and then gradually gets deeper. It is ideal for families, older people or anyone else who likes spending effortless long hours in the water. Several cafes offer two sunbeds and a parasol for 5 euros with two coffees. Endowed by nature, the Ammoudia beach is suitable for tourism, combining a clean sea, beautiful sandy beach and a natural environment. Ammoudia village is tiny, so if you are looking for a place to escape the crowds, this is it.

Wow...so cool!! Stunning views!! Amazing job as always. I spent a day on this beautiful beach a few years ago and I still regret I didn't "explore" the Acheron river upstream.
