Caramel Upside Down Cake

Apple Topping
1 apple
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Caramel
1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
1 tbsp corn syrup, or glucose
1/4 cup water (60 ml)
Cake Batter
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (191 grams)
1 tsp baking power
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup unsalted butter room temperature (170 grams)
1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
3 large eggs
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup buttermilk (78 ml)
