I'm glad you enjoy the portraits! I use pencils from the German brand Faber-Castell.
What confuses me a little about this method is that sometimes you start with the circle at the end of the mouth, in other examples the circle starts below the nose, in other examples, the ears are higher or lower, It seems like there is no pattern to follow, is that right?

What number pencil did you use ? 2h /HB?? …. Etc
I used a 2H pencil for the outlines and a 2B pencil for shading. This combination allows me to achieve both precise lines and smooth shading in my drawings. Feel free to experiment with different pencil grades to find the effects that work best for your style. Keep up the great work!
