Wow, we honestly forget how good old minifigures are! I remember absolutely loving old minifigures and now I get annoyed when sets don’t have unique minifigures. Crazy how our perception changes 😂

This and 6090 had the best baseplates. Crazy thinking how Lego would produce such a huge, specialty piece for a single set back when their production was much smaller than it is now.
Love the baseplate for 6090 too! Yes, what a different world LEGO was back then!
That 6090 baseplate functioned as the basis for countless adventurers esque mocs. Pretty sure my dad found that set at a goodwill in the early 2000s.
I got this set for Christmas back in '99. It was the first large-sized set I ever owned, and I absolutely loved it. I had always enjoyed LEGO, but this and the Star Wars sets of that year were what really kicked off my love for it.
I unfortunately don't have the set anymore, but one of my future MOC projects will be to do a reimagining of this set. I'm looking forward to when I can actually start on that.
I had that set as a kid. It survived intact until 2020 when I took it apart and used the base plate for a pirate moc
I've had this set twice. Once in 2000 and also here recently in 2018. I sold it for well under what it's worth and I had regrets for a long time.

This set has so many cool moveable parts! They really need to bring back a retro set with a legit baseplate like this for their 90th Anniversary, wish the new Castle had one
A couple years ago my friend gave me his brothers old legos and this was in that lot! Only the baseplate is really there but I’m trying to piece it back together. The printed slope piece at the top was my favorite as a kid. It reminded me of the opening of raiders of the lost ark. I wonder if Achu was a play on words of a sneeze since all the main characters have similar names!
That set is soo cool, this is my first time I saw the detailed review with all the features it has. I like the falling skeleton the most. God I miss that old LEGO style... good review, tnx
