A few songs into the set, they also play "Shine".....

Ed Roland, the lead singer, put this album together to showcase his songwriting talent and released it on an independent label. Shine got airplay on local rock radio in Georgia and Florida. After getting requests Roland put a band together with his brother and some other friends to play live shows. They re-released Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid in 94 on Atlantic records and Shine got heavy national radio play. They had a bunch of Radio hits in the 90s. Gel, Heavy, Run, December, The World I know and others. I''ve been a big fan of their sound for years.

The main guitar break really got me. That style doesn't generally do it for me, but that was so neat and clean - irresistible.

I had forgotten how good this song is. I haven't listened to Collective Soul in a while. I need to remedy that immediately.

LOVE Collective Soul and have this album along with Dosage (Heavy, Run, Needs) which has so many good songs and worth a listen . December is my fave song by them. They were my fave 90's band along with Toad the Wet Sprocket (Dulcinea is a great album, songs like Fall Down, Fly from Heaven, Crowing, Somethings Always Wrong).

I owned the company that manufactured the first 20k copies of the cassettes (remember those??) and CD's. Bill Richardson out of Atlanta was their manager at the time. They called once on a Fri afternoon and wanted to get out a special thank-you song to fans. They needed it the next day and my entire production crew worked through the night to make it happen. They were gracious and very thankful.

I played as a house band musician for many years from 94 to basically 2006. This song was a staple of ours. As a drummer I completely understand your drummer wanting to do it. I also used to sing the lead vocals on this as well while playing drums so I know it's a weird song vocally. We used to use this as an opener of our second or third set of the night. It gave the crowd something to vibe too, gave me a workout on the drums, and warmed the rest of the band up for the set. If you ever do decide to do it, I again, suggest you use it as an opener for a set. Doesn't wear you out, pumps the crowd, and makes the drummer happy.

My band used to play this song back in the mid 90’s. It was such a strong high energy song that we ended the night with it. Everyone dancing. Everyone wanting more.

Saw them in like 2015 at a huge festival. They played in the middle of the day but drew a massive crowd and damn were they great live
