@@justicemcdonald2939they're probably pointing to the excessive amount of hand movements to illustrate the point she's making. You don't need to break the entire grip to make room for a magazine release that's bumping one finger. But to clearly illustrate for an audience it makes sense
@mattmcfadden1477 it's easy to be a Glock hater when they refuse to actually put out a competitive product anymore 😆 They're living off their reputation from decades ago and still making a pistol that belongs back there. Smith and Wesson, Canik, CZ, Walther, Taurus, Mossberg, and Beretta have all left them in the proverbial dust. Every one of those brands have models that have proven track records reliability as well. For what you get they should be battling the older Caniks, SARs and the like in price point.
As a man I have the same problem. Sig is a better gun on paper but when it comes to combat Glock is a better gun. I feel like can can go to war with my Glock. Glocks are simple and they work.
Fortunately, we have so many choices, assuming one lives in a free State. That means you can choose. Choose the firearm that fits your hand, fits your eye, one that you want to train with and one that you will train with. If you choose wisely and train, your firearm will not let you down. I don't have any issue with my 365 and carry it most of the time. It works for me. It doesn't work for her. Kudos for recognizing that and finding a firearm that does.
Hello and good morning to you, I just came across your video, I love your opening statement, you are an inspiration and thank you so very much for your service, I am now a subscriber, continue your great work and videos ❤🙏.
P365 xl. I’m left handed. Have been a Glock fan ever since I could own one. Love them. There is just something about the 365XL that I love. Small enough but big enough. Can hold good amount of rounds. Comfortable to hold and don’t notice it with EDC. If you carry, carry always and it just might be the perfect EDC gun
I also carry the Glock 43x major upgrade from the Glock 43 I was carrying. The mag on the 43 used to pinch my hand bad on reloads plus it was snappy. I love the 43x.
I carry a simple S&W M&P Shield 1.0. Why? 1) I live in Cali and at the time, it was the "new hotness" for CCW pistols, and 2) Because it's all I had to train with, it now WORKS for me. It's just that simple. I LOVE it! 💗
I picked up a Glock 43x, and noticed the same issue, my middle finger was preventing the mag from dropping. I picked up a Sig P320xc, and noticed it felt great in my hands, did exactly what I wanted to, and I shot it great. What matters is that you feel comfortable and efficient with the gun, regardless of what brand/ model the gun is.
I was the same. Plus I use a very thumbs forward aggressive grip and the lack of real estate for my forward thumb on the Glock frame doesn't work for me. I love my 320. It just fits my big hands.👍🏻
Most of my crew was equipped with G23s, but a couple of the smaller members were authorized to carry other guns. One very petite female took to the G43 like she'd been born holding one. It really is important to try out any new gun you're thinking of buying, and I like to test fire them. I've experienced guns that felt great but I couldn't hit accurately with them.
Most people would tell you to keep practicing. I'm not one of those people. It's better to have a gun you naturally shoot well, not one you have to practice shooting well. I learned this the hard way
I’ve had a 43x and a 365xl and 365 has way better feel, accuracy and trigger is 10x better than any aftermarket Glock trigger and factory nightsights are icing on the cake Sold the 43xmos about 3 months after I got the 365xl
I carried the Sig P365xl, SW Shield Plus PC and Glock 43x. They are all wonderful guns but the one that stays on the holster by far the most is the 43x with a holosun 407
@@JesusisLORD77778 put the Shield S15 mags (and steel mag release) in the 43x. You then have the most rounds per ounce and inch of any current 9mm on the market.
@@JesusisLORD77778 what Tom said plus it handles recoil slightly better I felt, fit my hand a bit better since I have fairly large hands and the safety on the sig got jammed on me once and that was more than enough for me
I had the exact opposite experience which is why I recommend to everyone, rent before you buy! I rented both of these and chose the P365XL as the better choice for my hands and style, leaving the 43X on the table. Great video!
Great explanation. The 43X and 365 are the ccw kings. IMHO the 365 is the better option if you can carry them both without any issues. Any 365 variant has night sights from the factory, most are OR, and you can buy factory mag configurations without having to go third party. Plus they look so much cooler.
I’m a 5’10 male with average size hands. I have considerable experience with my P365XL, and have never suffered the issues described here; I can do rapid enough reloads without a hiccup. It’s certainly true that selecting an edc handgun involves considering how gun & hand anatomy mesh, along with various other priorities & preferences. Magazine release button location would not necessarily be a deal killer if the gun in question shined in enough other areas (as IMO the P365XL does).
This reload topic comes up a bunch. My thoughts are that you train to overcome. "Back to the fight" is the mindset that you WILL overcome, regardless. Also, the number of malfunctions I've seen while teaching classes ever since the supply chain issues and worker shortages has been aggregious. So once again, I will train to overcome given the conditions in which I live and work. You should determine your best course of action. Don't cut corners if you're serious about being a protector.
Say what? Its a tool and most importantly it needs to work first and foremost ALL the time! Ton of federal lawsuits for the P365 and no its not the same for all guns, not even close. Ton of youtubers were able to replicate the same issues and failure issues in the design that SIG quietly tries to change each year to avoid further lawsuits. Oh its true, its true.
Definitely not the gun idk about a ton of RUclipsrs but the 3 different videos I seen were going over how the officers SIG SAUER P320 was NOT seated in his holster fact check your selves I own several Glocks but my Sig p365 and p365 XMacro are definitely my favorites@@SortaDopeIGuess
The problem I had was accidental mag drops. Especially embarrassing in competition. Happened with my P10C, Glock 20, both the Sig P365 & P365XL. Also the mag button was hard to reach with my thumb, & when the mag popped out it hung up on the palm of my hand. I found an easy solution which solved ALL these problems, & that was to relocate the mag release button to the other side. Mags stay in no matter the grip pressure, easy to reach mag button with the trigger finger, & the palm of your hand is away from the bottom making fast mag changes. A fantastic fix for those of us with small hands.
I don't have the xl But I do have 3 glocks and a 365. Love the 365 ,it out shoots and conceals better than any of my glocks. I don't have your problem and carry the p365 everyday. No problem with the glocks accept grip angle. All are reliable.
Do you have issues with that shield arms 15rd mag? Was considering switching to a 43x or 48 when I saw those gen 3 mags, but I’ve been seeing mixed reviews on them
Having different models, AKA training tools, is helpful for students to learn what works best for them. In my hands, the P365XL is a demo of what isn't a good fit. Conversely, the 43x provides demonstration of an excellent fit (in MY hands) 👌
@@PistolAndPluck I have a Walther PDP and PDP Compact, my daughter wanted to get into shooting so I bought her a PDP F, because she has smaller hands and thought it would be easier for her to handle, turns out she likes the feel of my full size, says it's chunky in her hands. Ironically my son who has very large hands likes the feel pf her gun, go figure. Like you said go with what feels good in your hands. All I have to add is once you find the gun that fits is practice, practice, practice.
It’s not Glock’s triggers that are the problem. Glocks triggers have been mediocre poop (at best) for decades, and they were dominant despite it. Glock’s problem is that they refuse to innovate. Now that their patents are defunct, everyone and their mother is making a cheaper version with more features. But that’s not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is they take too long to innovate and follow consumer demand. When Sig came out with the P365, and started the micro compact craze with 10-12 round magazines, what did Glock do? Nothing. All the other gun companies saw consumer demand for such a gun, and made their own versions. Glock just kept doing their usual incremental upgrades to old models, or made a “new” model that is only slightly different than old ones. If they chose to innovate and make a carbine, or a micro compact double stack, or anything groundbreaking, they could rise back to the top. But they do not seem even remotely interested in that. Honestly, that’s fine. They do what they do and do it well. They make reasonably affordable, striker-fired, no-external-safety, polymer pistols that are incredibly reliable. That’s it. And they will always sell a whole lot of them.
@@kade426 this. My EDC concealed is a 43x (and honestly the trigger isn't bad) but the gun I actually love is my 5" full size PDP. That thing is a laser beam. Walther is killing it lately.
Good stuff. Always nice to see folks with the right idea. I just purchased a 365xl myself, but that was after handling like 6 different brands and models in the same “style”. It just fits me great. My buddy carries a hellcat and it fits him great. I just hate how it feels in my hand. There’s a reason they make so many different guns with so many different sizes and grips. It all comes down to what’s best for you, not what’s best for your buddy.
Truly, it's nice to know communication is achievable within these short vids! Glad you found your edc and thanks for a positive interaction. It's a rarity these days. Please, if inclined, stick around! 😆
I currently own the P365 and I love it. It’s very compact, but it fits just fine in my hand and I don’t have a problem with magazine release and reload. Maybe because I’ve shot it enough that muscle memory allows me to avoid the pinch and allows fast release. I’ve never really thought about it till now. My daughter has the G43 and I really do like that pistol as well. It fits in my hand and I’m just as accurate with it as my P365. I have a couple of Glock’s in other models, like my 19 and 29. Between the two, my preference is still the P365. It fits my sight alignment naturally. The Glocks grip angles a little too far back for my preference, but it doesn’t affect my accuracy at all. I’m just faster on target with the Sig. Fact is, both are terrific and like this instructor mentioned, it’s a personal fit. I can see her reasoning. My daughter loves her G43 Enjoyed the video
Thanks, I went to store and held the 365 XL and I ran into this exact problem. I was so looking forward to getting the XL too. However, the macro version doesn’t have this problem, so I guess I’ll be getting the 365 XMacro eventually!
It’s indescribably rare that a civilian ever has to change mags in a self defense situation. I’ve actually never heard of an account of it happening even though I imagine it may have at some point. I’m actually shocked that anyone other than law enforcement would bother to carry “backup” mags. Each to his own.
I carry 2 18 round mags besides the one in my gun, I use a shoulder holster and it helps balance the weight, plus you never know how bad it's going to get, or possibility of more than 1 encounter before you get home
@@PistolAndPluck I’m going to buy a 43x Moe this Tuesday. I have a weak shooting arm now after and surgery that went south at the VA and I’m wanted to ask how the recoil is compaired to a G19.
@-1Patroit. I can get more of a wrap around the single stack of the 43X (better grip ratio for me). That helps me control the recoil and experience about the same perceived recoil as I would with the larger Glock 19. That solid grip ratio allows me security shooting the 43x even single-handed. It's more of a challenge for me to mitigate the recoil single handedly on the 19 because I can't get much grip, or wrap on the 19. Did that help answer your question?
@@vinceaikens195 1) No one is crying. 2) No one has stole the country. I’m Canadian, not Ukrainian. 3) This was intended to be funny, but realistically the funniest part is that it went way over your head.
Well I don't plan on getting into any all out fire fights on the south side of Chicago, so I probably won't need to go through multiple mags of ammo. I'll just make do with the eleven rounds in my Sig. 🙄
@@joshbeasley21 Well, in my world, ammo is nearly useless unless it’s a mag. I forget who may interpret my replies sometimes. Sorry that wasn’t specified….I thought that was understood. 😉
I have always been a big Sig fan and not so much Glock fan. Unfortunately, the 365XL falls short in my opinion. It is much harder to hold onto for recoil management than other similar sized pistols. The ergonomics seem good in the hand until you shoot it. No place for my non-firing thumb to grip the side of the frame, and the gun jumps when fired causing me to adjust my grip after every round. Reliability isn’t the issue, it just needs better ergonomics, stippling, and maybe a small gas peddle. Edited for a really dumb mistake when typing.
I never had an issue with the mag release on the Sig but the reason I prefer the Glock is that the Sig grip just feels too narrow and rounded in my hand (like holding a broom stick) where the Glock feels like a proper pistol grip that I can get good purchase on. For whatever reason the 43x feels just right in my hand
It is always fascinating how unique each person's 'gun fit' is! In my medium/large hand, I've never had a problem with the mag release as she describes for herself, even with my P365. Thankfully, there is an abundance of options,
I have both and rotate. The Glock fits my hand perfectly. The sig is very good though with 2 extra rounds. I think this is a 50-50 toss up whatever fits you better both great guns. For me 43x about 70% of the time and the regular 365 for deeper concealment. The XL hasn’t been used much lately.
I had a similar issue with a 365xl when using the 12 round magazines. Advanced Weapons Tech makes a magazine butt pad that is just slightly thicker. It made the gun fit my hand perfectly! Problem with the magazine release fixed also. Their pads for 15 round magazines are superior to Sig’s also
Well all, I carried both Sig as a duty weapon and Glock off-duty and backup 26yrs. No problems with either one in the field and requals. I'm retired now but still carry Sig 365XL so.etimes and Glock 43 sometimes. I love both. It's all about your training!
Thank you for your service! I began my edc journey while serving over 20 years ago as well. I do find that ergonomics, power, reliability, and purpose play large factors re my choice for carry on the daily. As a woman (smaller hands, slighter bones, and muscle mass) means to me that getting a proper fit is critical. This video is meant to touch on the topic of ergonomics. While I can shoot any platform, I definitely consider the variables and choices. Happy shootin' and thanks for stopping by! Hope you'll subscribe to continue the conversation 😊
This is an excellent point. I carried a G48 for years and recently switched to the P365. The P365 is so much better for concealed carry, but the mag release issue is a fatal flaw for sure. Then again, I live in Florida and wear shorts and tank top all the time, so it's rare I have a back up mag anyway. So the P365 gets the win due to higher round capacity.
I carry a gen 5 glock 19 mos and a p365xl i love shooting and carrying both and havent had any issues with either gun. I carry the sig more than the glock because of the size difference but they both feel amazing in my hands and shoot very very well. 10/10 would recommend both for carry guns.
How do magazine loads and clearances go for you on the 365XL? Are you able to maintain your same grip throughout? I was issued the Glock 19 and ran it for a long time. There were not a lot of options in the late 90s. I found the Glock platform to be entirely reliable. It didn't fit my hands well... But, I didn't give it too much thought because there was no alternative. It or the Glock 17 were the options. My work around for my problem was to release the grip and shift the pistol in my hand to release the magazine (because my thumb could not reach). I made it work. The standard was always to do this with only the dominant hand while reaching to replace with a fresh mag in the support hand. With so many choices and facing different crime trends now, I am willing to put in the work to find my best suited EDC. Hope you'll sub and help advance thought here! Thanks for jumping in the conversation.
I carry both and I am biased towards the smaller footprint of the Sig P365’s. I had to train lots of reps drawing from concealment to shots on steel then reloading with my big hands. I had to adjust my manipulation slightly and made it my version of safe and fast. Great video.
I appreciate this video so much. I was literally trying to decide between these exact two pistols today at the store. After seeing this, I am convinced I made the correct decision getting the Glock 43X! Thank you!
Get with an instructor, take a one-on-one lesson. Have them help you with your grip. I had a gal do a range qual with a Hellcat Pro today. Truly... a proper grip that you establish with consistency will enable you to shoot anything well. I am able to shoot either of those with ease. You will be able to too with proper coaching :)

Ever any issues with the shield arms magazines? I won't be upgrading the mag release as i believe it's a gimmick to make more money, imo. However, when it comes to reliability, I'm curious if they're worth buying.
As with every component of an edc, I would recommend that you check and verify for yourself. That said, I have three of the Shield Arms magazines to use with the 43X. Each one has worked well for me. The upgrade to the metal mags does warrant changing the release too, without a doubt as that stands to reason IMO.... Metal on metal and all.

How would it be her causing the problem and not the pistol what she just explained right there is an obvious issue with the pistol in her hand she's not saying it's the pistol in everybody's hand but in her hand not everybody's hand is the same I know people that don't like Glocks because of the Glock knuckle I know people that don't let Glocks because of the wide back end on a clock handle it's a blocky feeling handle That's why I prefer the palmetto State armory dagger lower over my glock lowers.. everybody's allowed to have something different we all don't have to run the same thing
@@justicemcdonald2939they're probably pointing to the excessive amount of hand movements to illustrate the point she's making. You don't need to break the entire grip to make room for a magazine release that's bumping one finger.
But to clearly illustrate for an audience it makes sense
@mattmcfadden1477 it's easy to be a Glock hater when they refuse to actually put out a competitive product anymore 😆
They're living off their reputation from decades ago and still making a pistol that belongs back there. Smith and Wesson, Canik, CZ, Walther, Taurus, Mossberg, and Beretta have all left them in the proverbial dust. Every one of those brands have models that have proven track records reliability as well.
For what you get they should be battling the older Caniks, SARs and the like in price point.
Yeah, go ahead educate those Blocks lovers James 😂💯
100% accurate. Coming from an owner of both, I had to do two things to fix this in the 365xl. 1- magwell, 2- offset extended mag release.
Lefty here as well. She mentioned her middle finger. That's what I use to drop the mag. Always felt comfortable and able to keep a firm grip.
@@tjhop7721 more than one way to get to 9. Whatever works brother
I LOVE it! 💗
I love mine.
She was saying that the problem was with the Sig not the Glock, you got your story backwards
Exactly 😂
Most of my crew was equipped with G23s, but a couple of the smaller members were authorized to carry other guns. One very petite female took to the G43 like she'd been born holding one. It really is important to try out any new gun you're thinking of buying, and I like to test fire them. I've experienced guns that felt great but I couldn't hit accurately with them.
Most people would tell you to keep practicing. I'm not one of those people. It's better to have a gun you naturally shoot well, not one you have to practice shooting well. I learned this the hard way
I’ve had a 43x and a 365xl and 365 has way better feel, accuracy and trigger is 10x better than any aftermarket Glock trigger and factory nightsights are icing on the cake

I upgraded the grip module for my 365xl to the Wilson combat. Big bear claws fit the grip perfectly. No problems dropping the mag

@matthewriffel503 That palm swell detail goes an enormous distance to make it ergonomically a good fit for so many differently sized people :)
I had the exact opposite experience which is why I recommend to everyone, rent before you buy! I rented both of these and chose the P365XL as the better choice for my hands and style, leaving the 43X on the table. Great video!
Very good instructor, I like seeing instructors that know your personal weapon is about you. Many gun owners tend to forget that.
I love that she specified “for her”. Not the gun in general It doesn’t work comfortably for “her”. Well put ma’am
Great explanation. The 43X and 365 are the ccw kings. IMHO the 365 is the better option if you can carry them both without any issues. Any 365 variant has night sights from the factory, most are OR, and you can buy factory mag configurations without having to go third party. Plus they look so much cooler.
I dig the P365XL now that I've swapped out the stock lower for the Wilson Combat grip module 👌
I have never seen this problem either lol and she lossens grip alot to fix it when all you have to do is press the button harder lol
Nope
Glock is bigger frame...reloads statistically low percentage in civilian encounter...over in a flash!

I appreciate you and your wife as well as your kind words!
Love how you did the video

Wouldn’t training with your daily carry be more effective than using a different firearm? Just asking

@Joe Joe exactly, purposeful practice. ✨️❤️🇺🇸
Glock please work on your triggers! If they did they would be king again. Love how she points out every gun depends on the person.
@@alphazuluz I think I saw a vid where a Glock carbine prototype was being tested.

Personally, I had the exact same issue and was one my deciding factors for going with the 43x.

Good for you, Bruce. Happy for you
My grip impedes the release as shown. Same for the rest of the folks in my circle. Jusayin
My daughter loves her G43
Enjoyed the video
Failing to plan, is planning to fail…

I have always been a big Sig fan and not so much Glock fan. Unfortunately, the 365XL falls short in my opinion. It is much harder to hold onto for recoil management than other similar sized pistols. The ergonomics seem good in the hand until you shoot it. No place for my non-firing thumb to grip the side of the frame, and the gun jumps when fired causing me to adjust my grip after every round. Reliability isn’t the issue, it just needs better ergonomics, stippling, and maybe a small gas peddle.
Edited for a really dumb mistake when typing.

I've never had the issue with mine, saw your comment only to reach for mine then sure enough no matter how I manipulate it is impossible.
I like how she removed her hat out of respect for the Glock. Good woman

The 43x might be my favorite EDC Glock and then the 30s
This is an excellent point. I carried a G48 for years and recently switched to the P365. The P365 is so much better for concealed carry, but the mag release issue is a fatal flaw for sure. Then again, I live in Florida and wear shorts and tank top all the time, so it's rare I have a back up mag anyway. So the P365 gets the win due to higher round capacity.
Check out the Wilson Combat grip module... was a game change for me to fix my issues with the P365XL.
@@PistolAndPluck I actually just traded in the SIG for a Glock 43x because the sig mags kept rusting

@Ostosis my SA15 mags recently found their way to the trash heap! Experienced the worst malfunctions I've ever encountered with them. Typical malfunction clearance was ineffective. Required a tool to remove the spent casings! I used to be huge fan but that came to an end with continued use. They are retrofit with such tight tolerances, evidently wear takes them out of specs. Waste of money and my time. Back to stock Glock and won't be playing that game again. Just thought you might want to know how it's going with SA15s here.
