Boy, this is so eyeopening to me!! I just started looking at RUclips videos for makeup. This scares me for you and me and others. These fake videos are all over. Makes me scared trying new products on face. I haven’t worn makeup for over a year, I am 68. Health issues. I was getting real excited to get makeup to help my aging face. I really am thinking about backing off. I love your current makeup look! I have let my hair grow out for 3 years. I just tried olapex 4 and 5 for hair shampoo and conditioner based on other RUclips reviews. I am looking for something that really makes my hair look more healthy and shiny. I have tried it twice and really did not see that. Do you use it? What do you recommend for long dark hair that has silver coming in. I appreciate any help. Your hair is over the top gorgeous!
This unfortunately happens all the time. Clips of me with my gray roots and then after I color my roots are on so many phony sites saying I used their bobo product when I've never ever heard of their brand. LOL Thankfully some did remove their fake ads after I contacted them. But I see this all over social media. At least we KNOW their product is awful if they have to lie like this 😂
The voice and cadence obviously change when it's not you speaking, but I wouldn't notice unless I was listening carefully for it. Glad you are addressing this!

Honestly that´s the reason why i completely stopped shopping anything online when i only know the product, but not the brand or the website that sells it. It is beyond exhausting navigating around these fake websites trying to figure out whether i can trust this or that shop and don´t order garbage in the end. It really makes me not want to have anything anymore when you constantly have to watch out to not give scammers your money. This world just sometimes deprives me of all happiness i swear...
Many years ago, I had to ask a big company to remove my personal photo from their marketing page.. thankfully they did, but it's pure chance that I saw it in the first place! People out here profiting off other's content & scamming their way through life. So sad. AI going to make it much worse.
Regarding the note at 15:58 about them possibly taking down their Instagram page-no they didn’t, or if they did it’s back up now. I just checked and got to it with no problem. While I was there, I reported their page with the reason of “misleading or possible scam”. Sorry this happened Abbey!
I’m so sorry this happened to you. Online scams are so bad. I’ve had to train my parents about the warning signs for scam brands. Sometimes they find the most outrageous ads on Facebook. Hopefully we get more eyes on this and teach people how to spot a scam.
This has happened to me so many times with hair brands stealing my photos and using them to promote curly hair products, tools, and even fake curly hair extensions and wigs 😡

Few years ago i wanted to buy a Dyson Airwrap and watched some videos on RUclips of influencer doing their hair with it, to get an idea of what it does and how. The amount of scammer-shop videos i got then as ads on Pinterest for example where they stole the content i just watched on youtube for their shitty fake version of the Dyson was incredible...
It seems like something that needs to be Federally regulated so that people can go after the social media platforms (not the companies). The companies only exist because the social media platforms accept their money in exchange for ads. So the ONLY answer is something that makes it a MONEY LOSER for the social media platforms. A few lawsuits that cost more than they made in ad revenue is the only way it will stop. The drop shipping companies will never run out of dumb people who will believe those ads, and they’ll just rinse and repeat over and over. Money is what counts. The social media platforms need to lose money by promoting these ads. That’s the only solution.
To run ads on IG, you have to use the ad center in Facebook. I'd try submitting documentation to Facebook proper through those channels. The reporting on IG is mostly automated and it sucks. I'm really sorry this is happening. It's so scummy
That is so infuriating! I just ignore most ads on social media. They're usually promoting really crappy products anyway, if they're legit at all. Buying stuff from amazon is a risk too, especially when it comes to beauty products. There is so much counterfeit crap out there. You might be saving money buying from amazon and paying for convenience, but anymore I'd rather buy directly from the company because all the money then is going to them and I know what i'm getting is the real product

It seems like I saw another creator a few years ago (who I won't name) that this sort of thing happened to. Only with them their image was put into some ad for some bs weight loss drug or something like that and they were imaged as the "before" with a completely different person for the "after" picture. So not only were they lying about the product but at the same time making it seem like the creator had or even needed a desire to change their body. It's super gross.
I saw this on James Welsh's video maybe a week ago It's so crazy how it sounds so much like you. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't sound like your voice. But this is coming from someone who has been watching you for 4 plus years now on RUclips and your voice typically sounds higher not lower like it does in this video that they used AI on.
I am your age (30) and I feel like it’s easier for our generation to spot these fake brands and scams because we grew up with the start of the internet and we don’t believe everything we see online. The younger and older generation however have a tougher time with this. I am so sorry this happened to you!!

This is horrible and very upsetting! There should absolutely be a way to hold these people accountable. It would seem at the very least they should have to take this scam video down. I'm sure something like this could damage your reputation and therefore your ability to get your REAL content believed and shared, which in turns your ability to generate legitimate sponsors. I've seen a lot of ads for shady "weight loss supplements" using clips of Kelly Clarkson and an AI voice, or out of context clips of the businesspeople on Shark Tank. It's really gross to see scam companies using other people's image without their permission to prey on people's insecurities.

This happened to Casey Ho of PopFlex. The scam sight used her body and voice but ai generated the face to sell knock offs of her brand. Sounds like they need to get a handle on regulating AI usage.

you can hire a private investigator to track the person down so that you can sue them.

This happened to Casey Ho of PopFlex. The scam sight used her body and voice but ai generated the face to sell knock offs of her brand. Sounds like they need to get a handle on regulating AI usage.

These scammers suck!!! I hope that there are more protections against AI in legislation soon, that’s the only way I can see things changing since Meta and TikTok are profiting off of this :(
