    For sleeping, you might do well with putting your hair up like you've been doing, but use a silk scrunchy to keep it up, and possibly a silk sleep bonnet.
    I'm Caucasian and I have fine hair, but it's 2b curly, and this is how I'm able to keep my curls looking good with minimal upkeep for upwards to a week

      Agree, I don't really understand the lack of use of silk products when every single person who talks about growing your hair long uses them. Also I don't get the opposition to braids. Like she said just do a ponytail for the gym when a braid is way more protective

    I always hear you talking about how much you love a clarifying shampoo. I have very, very fine hair that needs to be stripped clean at each wash, or it will be weighed down and frizzy. By far, the best clarifying shampoos I've EVER tried are the Ethique Citrus shampoo bar and the L'Occitane Volume and Force shampoo. You will never go back to Pantene after trying them (I used to use the same Pantene shampoo for a long time, but then I decided to start splurging on hair care and discovered these gems. you will realize that Pantene does, in fact, leave an odd field on your hair. these don't and are perfect) Try them if you can and let me know what you think !!

    I'm right there with you for being frustrated over random aches and pains with no specific injury accounting for them. I do have a very physical job though.. I've replaced HIIT workouts with low impact cardio. I really like Olivia Lawson's workout videos, specifically her walking workouts. Although it feels like I'm barely doing anything since I'm not drenched in sweat and my heart rate doesn't get as elevated compared to HIIT workouts, my joints appreciate it. And you're still moving your body as opposed to sitting on the couch. It is frustrating having to adjust your workouts compared to when you were in your teens or 20s, but that's something everyone goes through unfortunately. Just make sure you do rule out a medical condition accounting for your issues of course.

    Abby!!! I love the concept of the sleepy tie (silk bonnets fall off or leave imprints in my forehead) but it just doesn't work for me 😭 I have a ton of super long fine hair, maybe that's why? But no matter how high I put on my head or follow the directions/ watch videos it flops down and pulls - forget about even caring about preserving my hair style, just trying to find a comfy protective style for my hair while sleeping. I'd loooove to see what you can come up with. Even the two baby clips in a high bun trick changed everything. Thanks for all you do to educate people on their hair 🙏🏻

    Hi! I know this is an older video. Have you ever tried the “spiral bobbi pins” to secure your sleep updo. They work so well for me!
    Also, I’m surprised you didn’t mentioned a satin pillow. Alternately maybe a satin scarf can just cover your bun. Like a mini “bun bonnet” that way you get benefits of a bonnet. But it’s not as hot/humid. Because bonnets can definitely feel a bit too confined/humid with them covering the entire head

    The glycolic gloss treatment is meant to be used after conditioner, as your last rinse-off step :) And it says to leave on for 5 min. They recommend using it after the Glycolic Gloss conditioner, and I have personally gotten great results using it like that, but it probably works with any conditioner!

    You’re right about the bouncier curl with horizontal holding of barrel. If holding it vertical you should get a little more of that beach undone wave style curl. There are exceptions depending on how big the barrel, how much hair you use, how thick or dense the hair is… it can change the look slightly but over all you’re 💯 right about having a bouncier more voluminous curl this way (my personal favorite too) just wish my hair was longer so I could enjoy the look that you get! I’m trying! I’m following your routine to the tee! I’m almost finished with hair school and tell everyone at school and clients about the information I’ve learned and use from you! I know how much you love drugstore products so... Just bought the Garnier Fructis Hyalauronic Bonding Shampoo, Conditioner and Curl Gel. I have 2C/3A low porosity fine hair that I bleach so felt like I needed something extra, even though my low p keeps my hair feeling fairly soft most of the time. Anyway...with one use I have hair that's too soft to be 3A! It actually looks a bit like Taylor Swift's hair before the rain and humidity! Not mad about it, but I'm also not mad about it. Kinda liked that I had some spiraling going on. So I obviously won't be using it every wash but I thought if you had some girls out there that want a really nice, softening and hydrating shampoo/cond, this might be a good one to recommend.

    The Zuvi Halo Hair dryer did what the repronizer is supposed to do. It transformed my hair after one use. My hair is so silky, smooth and soft. No product made this before. Before my hair was dry and strawy. It also looks more voluminous now. I don't know what this light does exactly, but it is like a hair treatment ❤ and this redlight or infrared light which comes out of the hair dryer, could be good for hair growth. It looks green but actually it is red.

    Have you tried a satin bonnet? I have a couple from Always Covered, but I know there are a bunch of other brands. It has an adjustable elastic band that is flat, and I low-key love it. I usually use to to go to sleep, but can be used whenever. I put my hair in a loose ponytail to get it in and situated, then smush it up so that I can pull the ponytail out while it's inside of the bonnet. I actually really love it. For context, my husband who is from Guyana got me into using one since he was thinking that I was having a lot of breakage in my hair. And I try to use bonnets on my two daughters who are mixed. They usually end up coming off in the middle of the night, but still trying.

    Loved this video! My hair is so much healthier because of your advice! I never realized how unhealthy it was because it has always been shiny and smooth but super frizzy. I thought it was just my hair type but because of the changes I made from watching your videos I now have barely any frizz! I went from washing my hair everyday with a moisturizing type of shampoo and the conditioner that went with it and now I am able to go over a week without washing it. Unfortunately a couple weeks ago I started seeing those white dots at the ends again. I started using k18 1.5-2 years ago but I was thinking about using it for 6 consecutive washes again, but it’s expensive and I don’t know if thats what I need to do. So instead I started washing it more frequently. I do always use at least a hair mask but mostly a hair mask and conditioner I do always look for ones with Dimethicone or Amodimethicone in them. I was surprised to see that you don’t always use a clarifying shampoo. I do and my favorites are Kristen Ess, Ouai, and Pantene Volume. Could that be the cause of the white dots? Would using the k18 for 6 washes again be a good idea? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated! Just to get to know my hair better it’s very long I think I have thick wavy hair. My natural color is a dark brown but I do dye my hair with box dye I use Garnier ultra bold red for dark hair every 3-4 months and I always dye all of my hair not just my roots. II know you are very busy so if you get the chance to read it and reply, Thank you I appreciate it very much!

    One Thing I learned - every hair is so different like everybody is.
    So I am glad you found the haircare that fits with you. But, to all people who are watching and thinking, this should work for them too, please be aware that it could not.
    Need an example? My mother has dry hair and washes it every 2 weeks or so. She uses argan oil.
    My hair is oily fast so I have to wash it all two days and can not use the oil because it would make things worse.
    Its not only the shampoo by the way its also your Lifestyle and what your family gave you on your way.

    I never thought that Inkey List could be used as a leave-in for the scalp. I should ask my husband to try this, he usually has flakes and it increases as he is close to the next wash. And of course, I love all your product recommendations. I have never in my life, so confidently purchased drugstore products for my hair.

    This was one of your best hair videos in my opinion, and am glad to see the routine has actually cut out a few products and steps I think that has helped your hair alot. I am curious as to what products you had used the week prior that you state you did not like and made your hair feel, I guess best way to say, is weird or gross buildup...also curious as to the spray heat protectants you would normally use before heat/curling your hair

    I have been learning so much from you videos for the last few months. Even though I am a super busy, working, first time mom who is lucky to have the time to shave one leg in the shower, I appreciate all the info and TRY to implement some of you hair care into my schedule. Any short on time tips and tricks? I would also be curious to see a 'various workout hairstyles' video, especially for intense cardio. I run everyday and my tailbone length thick/heavy hair has to be up, not only to keep from being a sweaty mess nuisance, but also for safety so I can't be pulled back by my ponytail.

    My biggest hair tip (I read it in Allure) is to apply dry shampoo the night before. It absorbs all the oil your scalp produces overnight, and any cast is gone. If you need to top off in the morning for volume, you can, but I usually don't need to. It looks sooooo much better than applying it in the morning.

    • @ashlingdelphe5075
      @ashlingdelphe5075 16 дней назад

      Yep if I need to use dry shampoo I put it on the night before, literally no cast

    You get a bouncier curl with the curling iron horizontally is because you are adding tension on the hair. When the hair has tension on it and heat, the result is a more bouncy curl because you are basically changing the hair’s curl pattern. Your curls will last so much longer when you add that extra little amount of tension.

  • @CecilPie
    @CecilPie 9 месяцев назад +1

    Helpful to see the reality of going several days without washing.. One question - it seemed like you were holding the curling iron in your hair a really long time. Do you use it at a lower heat setting or is that a nuance of the specific curling iron?

    I started to wash my hair once a week again. My hair is soooo dry and damaged. I’ve been using the Alterna bonding products. I love the results! I use dry shampoo on my scalp and brush my hair out. I apply serum and hair oil on my ends everyday and my hair sucks in the products like crazy! I’ve been doing heatless curls. I roll my hair in a silk scrunchie when I sleep. I put my hair in a ponytail when it gets oily.

    I'm about to start my hair oiling journey, but have a great bond repair routine already. Girl thanks for all the time it took for you to do this video. I have fine, thin hair and I'm thinking about using a bonnet to sleep in. I usually don't style my hair (other than blow drying) but if i do i will straighten it. Do you recommend putting the hair up somehow to hold it or just put the bonnet on without a scrunchie or something of the kind? Trying to take better care of my hair while I sleep

    Yes PLEASE!! A sleepy thing needs to happen!! I was using the sleepy tie, and it was working great. My first one broke, so I bought a new one and it seemed like all the ties after my first were heavier? (May be in my head?). I would wake up in the middle of the night and felt like it was tugging since it was pulling backwards. So then I went to a silk head wrap thing. Didn’t think that through to much- no way I will wash a silk thing the way it needs to be often enough. So I actually started putting my hair up like you just showed! In a loose bun held with clips. I am always wondering if that is contributing to hair breakage but 🤷‍♀️. I don’t know where to go from there for sleeping hair, but I hope you have some ideas!!!!

    I am confused about two things: first, can you use epres on your K18 wash day? Second is how you used the K18 mask. The instruction on the box indicates to apply after the wash and not to rinse it. It looks like you apply it and then rinse to apply conditioner. I love your videos, and I am on a journey to try to repair my hair, so I want to see if I can sort of follow your routine to a degree to see if that will help.
