  • Part 7 of the movie "ZOO." Released in 2007 and directed by Robert Devor, it is a documentary on the life and death of Kenneth Pinyan ("Mr. Hands"), who was killed in an accident involving sexual activity with horses. The movie also examines the lives of others who knew him, and participated in similar acts, along with the subject of zoosexuality as a whole.

Well, that was interesting. Disgusting, for sure, but compelling nonetheless. Main complaint with this doc is that it danced around the point so much that it was difficult to understand what even was happening. Honestly, there really isn't a point in trying to make a movie about beastiality family friendly. Those who do not wish to hear the hard truth about this story probably won't watch it anyways. This just left too much to the imagination and I'm now a little confused.

Thank you for putting it so succinctly Rachel - exactly what I was thinking and feeling. Don't need it graphic detail but nothing was actually mentioned. Bizarrely filmed. Doens't go very far in trying to "help" anyone understand where this comes from.
Apparently, it has been on the rise in Europe in recent years as times have got harder, less jobs (= less money to pay people for kinky s_x...) etc so this is what humans resort to?? I don;t think so. And I also don;t think it relates to not wanting to / getting hurt in human relationships....this is on a whole other sick level. I don;t think any amount of lack of parenting can contribute to this, IMO...

Guys: An animal cannot consent. It doesn't have the intellectual ability to willingly consent to sex. Every animal that appears to be consenting is just following it's instincts. The horse didn't want to have sex with the man for pleasure. Horses can't have sex like that. The horse was following its natural instincts, and didn't know the reality of the situation. He very likely was forced to do this as well. Sexual relations with an animal is abuse, no matter what the species.
As for the horse being castrated, it's all a matter of keeping him safe. It's not like he really needed his testicles to survive. They removed the hormone glands that make him want to follow his sexual instinct, they didn't take away his entire penis! They made a very smart move in making sure the horse was safe from anymore zoophiles who could adopt him and sexually abuse him.

Ridiculous statement, and does not lend any credibility to your concerns.
The fact of the matter is that removing the hormonal influences on the animal's behavior were a move toward reducing risk for both the horse AND other people. In reality: stallions CAN BE (and often ARE) dangerous animals both to humans and other horses. The animal had been taught behaviors as well...and the hormonal influence on those behaviors presented cumulative risks. The horse was a beautiful animal, and had not been castrated previously....possibly to preserve him for breeding purposes. (most male horses that are not going to be used for breeding are castrated to avoid behavior problems around other horses, and safety of the herd/humans...the fact that he had NOT already been castrated seemed to indicate he may have had potential for breeding....no owner is going to castrate a potentially valuable breeding stud horse if they don't have significant reasons to do so. There were also liability issues to consider should the horse have remained intact, and been involved in a subsequent injury to someone or another animal). I am sure that none of the decisions regarding this horse following "the incident" were taken lightly....and that on balance the owners felt that the castration was the best route to take. ~ RED ☮♥♫

I watched the entire video and I just want to say that I did not like the way the perpetrators of this crime are being made to look like innocent victims of this man's perversions. The reality is that the owner of the farm should be held responsible for murder. If a drug dealer's drugs kill the drug addict at the drug dealer's house what happens to the drug dealer? Exactly...it is an open and shut case. If he had not provided this atmosphere and facility for this man it would not of happened.

e_o I suspect half the dislikes toward this video series was due to the documentary style/narrative than the subject itself.
This documentary was hard to follow along when the timelines randomly ventured all over the place and certain segments went on tangent subjects while some scenes were filled with so much shadow it was hard to make out who was talking. ;-; This could've been an insightful documentary into the world of zoo and why these people did what they did. Instead, we're distracted by poor creative license and an epic soundtrack that belongs in a space-opera mystery movie.
That aside... thanks for the video upload. Danger Dolan sent me here. :) Now to check out the other crazy documentaries on his list.

Yea but she's probably tied up or contained in a stall of some kind. And not allowed to go where she wants. Horses won't just come up wanting to have sex. They don't care about material things, self pleasuring, and being unsympathetic and unempathetic. As a matter of fact God used horses in my life to heal from sexual problems so that I end up choosing abstinence along with many other things I've been healed from. I'm not judging you at all man, I assume things have happened to you that make you do the things you do. I've done stuff that I can say to this day I'm not happy about but God's power of salvation cured me. I know you hate people I was the same until Jesus blessed me with human friends I wouldn't trade for the world they are such a blessing the healing I experience being around them is just as strong as after I have spent time around horses. Sex isn't love, connecting with others by empathy, sympathy, nurturing, and altruism and humility is love. Sex is just procreation so that man and wife can have the wonderful blessing of raising kids who give refreshment and legacy and peace as well as play in a harsh world.

@sentstuff05 They weren't punishing the horse by gelding, they gelded him so that someone else who liked to do these things wouldn't show up and try to adopt him. I'm not sure, but I think you would have to train a horse to do that, so if someone was into that stuff, a horse that was already trained to do it would be perfect. They gelded him for his own safety, more or less. Quite honestly, I would have castrated the men, and that would have been for punishment.

I hope you are trolling. This is not about 'not hetero so it's wrong', because this is a lot closer to pedophilia than being gay, bi, or straight. Adult humans in a sexual relationship are most often able to say no, they are on move equal footing, and they have the same understanding of the relationship. Animals in a situation like this do not have the same understandings and expectations, they can't say no, and if they defend themselves they will most likely be put down. This is victimization.

like "what kind of intolerant world do we live in" is flat out ignorant. It's obviously taboo (in nearly every culture, save some indigenous ones), and you could make the same arguments for incest. "It doesn't harm anyone" (as long as it's consensual), "people just don't understand", etc. And yeah, you could argue the relativity of anything. But when it comes down to it, you're consciously crossing a line most people have intrinsically in them. Perhaps it's zoophiles who don't understand.

It's the law. Simple as that. Laws exist to do four things: they protect rights; they protect people and property; they establish a sense of order, and finally, they reflect society's morals.
Now, one could argue that their rights are being infringed, but all laws limit rights in some way. It protects people and property, as zoophilia can be dangerous. Fucking animals isn't good for an orderly society, and it doesn't fit society's current morals.
Before this, zoophilia wasn't a legal problem.

Human nature is the most weird thing. Fantastic cinematography, great music and shots by the way.

No animal can consent to sex, you're just taking advantage of them. Why don't you be a little more open minded to dating the many different types of humans in the world and leave the animals alone. There's a reason why so many frown upon it, because it's morally wrong. Animals are for companionship, not for your own amusement. I don't care whether you think you love the animal that way, it shouldn't have to give back joy to you in that way. Seek help.

Well I don't think there is a lot to be understood.
These people are clearly mentally ill, and state such by saying "I love animals" yet they are not vegetarian.
They are predators in search of victims who are unable to speak.

The whole surgery room and everything for castrating the hose was overkill, you usually just do it in a paddock quick needle to knock him out cut him and you're done, would if cost them a fortune

The poor horse was castrated for no reason. The horse was innocent.

why were these men gathering in groups, FILMING these acts and keeping an extensive collection of these movies. I saw the infamous tape along with my friend who told me about this documentary.. and the way they produced their movies..with titles like "deep thrusts" and they way they had aliases they went by. it seems to me that thsi was all about SEX. Idk I'm honestly trying to understand it, but really cant.

Why castrate the horse, the victim. I have never lusted after horses. Horses were pets to love, ride and feed apples. Horses, nor any other pets, are not sexual partners.

+jellyfishattack True, but at least the horse will settle down from his hormones and be more docile. As for the guy, he should've been castrated.

@lasgo91 I agree with you 100%. I think this movie shows a lot about propaganda and how you can make anything sick and twisted look "normal" and "loving". What a bunch of crap. If they truly "loved" the horse like it was their wife or something, then why were they having drunken parties where they all shared the horse. Would someone who loves someone do that?

"Ethologists studies on animal mating rituals shows that they can and do consent to sex" -Yeah can consent to the other animal which it can communicate with.
"Yea, so what?" -So you're saying you don't care whether the animal could consent or not?
"Would you ask a gay to be more open minded to dating the many different types of women in the world and leave other gays alone?"-Why would I care about 2 consenting adult humans having sex with eachother? It is completely different.

it's ridiculous how some people worry about the horse consenting or not, when they probably never worry about the millions of animals we torture and kill every day for all kinds of fucked up reasons. go vegan/vegetarian or shut the hell up about animal cruelty.
that being said, i'm not quite sure what to think about the whole consenting issue, wich is key here. what does consent really mean in an animal? just because the horse doesn't kick you in the face, doesn't mean it wants to get fucked.

First of all this documentary was boring as hell. They attempted to portray this in a tasteful way with the light music, the soft spoken voices, the dark atmosphere.......FAIL. You just can't get past the nastiness of it.

How this documentary could bore me so much when the topic is quite fascinating as well as disturbing is quite an accomplishment on the directors part. Do these people ever think of the dangers they put themselves in, and others, as well as the animals quite possibly? Selfish, sexual deviants.

Well, I liked it. I found it interesting, yet at the same time, weird, because of A. how they honestly appeared incapable of realizing what they were doing was wrong, it reminded me of an animal hoarder and really just made me sad, and B. er... I don't think the horse sex video was needed, even though it was blurred, I still found the sounds disturbing and just wrong. But besides that, it really honestly shows how different their brain works.

@ItsWolfeh (continued) Lastly, as for the video itself, I'm not an expert in the field but the video itself was shot amazingly well. However, it appeared to me to just be random video clips, it didn't coincide with the interview (that or was symbolic I guess?) So I found it rather confusing. As someone else also said, you can't tell who the heck is speaking and I found that very annoying, so I tried to just focus on what they were trying to say.
