Great job my friend. Greetings from the Ozark mountains in southern Missouri, USA.

I refill my lighter every morning before I leave. I’ve never had a problem with it running out of fluid. As for the flint I just put a spare one under the felt pad. And I don’t need a tool to loosen the flint spring because I just screw it in hand tight with my fingers.

£11 on Amazon UK. I'm going to get one. I currently use a tiny glass bottle that had essential oil in in, which I carry in my bug-out handbag for emergencies.

Use a frezer bag corner over the bottom felt as it stops evaperation you fill it up less often !!!

It looks like this could also be used as a 'charger', Papillon-style. Just remove the clip, large split-ring, flint holder and screw tool. Perhaps attach a short lanyard to the small split-ring for easier retrieval 😐

Have to stuff my canister on the inside of my waistband because people say it looks like a pill canister. I’m not a pill head.

Interesting that Zippo doesn't care about the construction/consistency of their fuel canisters. Mine is more of a "dull satin chrome" finish like your cap. You seem to have a "polished chrome" bottom tank with a "dull satin chrome" cap. I've seen full polished chrome canisters & full dull satin chrome canisters. Never like this

The idea behind the gasket is to seal off the air hole which an o-ring would not do.

Check the seals are located correctly and not damaged, it should be pretty easy to find some cheap replacements if needed

Unfortunately these are not "idiot proof". People who get leaks are *not* using the fuel canister correctly.
