Me too! Like a boss!
Me too! WE'RE KILLING IT, BRO!
I rarely save videos but this one is probably the MOST useful tutorial ever. I love how Eugene emphasizes that your success heavily depends on your approach and attitude. I'm going to re-watch this video again and again when I feel down. I only regret I didn't find this video earlier.
Thank you Eugene
You are welcome. Comments like these are music to my ears. Thank you.
how did it go 1 year after?
@@PossessWithin I would say it went great and still goes :) Since last year I'm practicing almost daily and I completely rethought the way I practice thanks to this video. To give you some backstory I play drums since 2007 but I never practiced correctly, maybe just when I started I spend some time with a practice pad getting some basics done. In fact, since 2012 and till I watched this video I only "practiced" when I had rehearsals with my band 2 times a week. This resulted in a lot of things getting memorized incorrectly, having bad technique, having knee and elbow pains sometimes. Bad shit to be honest. Now I have to fight some ancient muscle memory and the most difficult part was to take a huge step back and starting a lot of things from scratch.
Basically this video gave me the impulse to find time for practicing and made me realize that it is more efficient and better to work 10-20 minutes on something in particular (like "wrist motion" or "swivel technique" or "paradiddle" or whatever you want to improve) instead of just playing 2 hours straight with your band without ever realizing where your flaws are. Don't get me wrong - band rehearsals are important too, but you don't grow much as a drummer by just playing with your band and you also need to focus on your technique and experiment and that's where this kind of practice system gets extremely useful
"only at 250 bpm"
romjab yeah no big deal
@MorbidManMusic wym?
ONLY hahaha 😂
Couple notes to everyone:
pay attention to how relaxed his hands are when he's playing; he's using only "one or two" muscles at a time and the rest are relaxed and not used; that way the hand is jiggling around visibly when he's playing. That's an important notion when you practice - think about wet spaghetti when you're doing anything that has something to do with speed. That way you'll pay more attention to your technique.
Also if something feels really tight or painful from the beginning, stop, play at a slightly slower tempo (without the metronome) for a minute ONE HAND AT A TIME and WATCH what your hands are doing, then do the same for the other hand. Then try again, and start relatively quietly - not all out straight from the start.
youtube should pay you per minute.
TheNdrumming or per BPM
TheNdrumming Per second.
These methods should be kept Secret.

THANK YOU FOR THIS
your tutorials are 1st rate. ive been implementing your advice for only 2 weeks and ive gone up from 190 bpm to 240 well under controle. thx man!
Marcus Laus with fingers?
Juan@Balboa yes
Eugene is all the motivation I need
You´ve got a very cool mustache :D
xD
your tutorials are gold man.thank you very much
These are seriously some of the most clear and concise drum lessons I've ever seen. Do you think you could make a tutorial on how to learn complex songs? I don't know if you do this very much but I've been finding it hard to learn songs by ear if they are more complex like animals as leaders or between the buried and me. If I don't have access to sheet music I find it extremely hard to figure the minute and less straightforward things the drums are doing. Thank you very much for these lessons, they are the best I've seen.
probably the best tutorial I ever seen...thanks a lot!
Samir Mamude yeah
Day one trying this. This is the most logical drum workout I've ever seen.
thank you! Let me know about your progress!
I've been at it since the 8/1/18. I have seen great progress already. Been playing drums since 1999 and my left hand is still so awkward. I still can only do 245bpm with the left hand for 2 measures. Right hand can do much higher.
I've realised how much I practice...and it's nowhere near enough and too imprecise.Thank you for this video!! It's made me wake up and realise I've just been meandering and trying to look for short cuts(Moeller vs Open Close etc) instead of focusing on practicing correctly AND consistently.Real eye opener..Subscribed !!
Eugene Ryabchenko Thanks Eugene:)
i like how clear your tutorials are. very helpful
hands down the best teacher on youtube for advanced players looking to improve.. very in depth, great explanations, and very easy to understand. thank you so much for making these videos
Seriously and honestly, these are the best drum tutorials you'll ever watch, he is so helpful and encouraging!!!
I don't know why, but as soon as i hear you talking, i instantly see my practice pad + metronome and sticks in front of me, without even realizing, that i just prepared my stuff... xD
no no, that's actually really good! i come here everyday, after i made my feet smoking with your doublebass-tutorial, i put on this video and keep practicing... =) There is nothing more motivational than Eugene Ryabchenko!!! +1! ^^ haha
+Heretix1989 same thing for me. exactly like me!
+Heretix1989 same thing for me!
you are the chosen one lmao
+Heretix1989 I can relate but my edrum kit is right next to my computer desk. One minute I'm comfy at my pc and suddenly I'm doing blast beats 4 feet away from it.
The best tutorial i've ever seen so far in RUclips. . You're amazing. M gonna start making my diaries.
Eugene thank you so much for your tutorials!! This is a lifesaver for anyone unsure about how to reach these extreme goals!!!
The most clean video to see what to do with your stick! thank you very much eugene to share.
Just found your channel & subscribed... great tutorials, after playing for 35 years you've actually shown me a few things I can work on.. Great job mate 👍👍👍
I really like that you always cover the motivation part of practising. I found this to be the hardest part for a long time but I'm practising now like a beast 😄
Best tutorials I've seen!
Greetings from Brazil, Eugine! Your videos are helping me A LOT in my researches about how to improve my drumming. Really, I'm constantly watching videos and reading about this stuff (I'm a drum teacher and student), and I can say you are one of the bests in RUclips, so in the playing as in the schedule of the exercises, analysing movements, muscles memory, and so on. I'll be spreading the word! ;D
Thank You! Your videos have really helped correct most of my bad habits. I will continue to watch your videos and practice on the rest of my bad habits and eventually be the best I can be. Thanks Again!
Amazing tips, I sincerely appreciate you explaining all of this so well!!!
Thank you for free well thought out drum lessons, means a lot my friend🤙🏻
I think is the must helpfull video i've ever seen to increase speed level. Thank's a lot Eugene !
Dude you are so inspiring and helpful! They way you present your techniques and curriculums are absolutely motivating and make me want to start right away. Thank your for your awesome lessons.
Great video Eugene, its nice to see someone on RUclips researching the topic before posting a video. Looking forward to your next video.
Definitely one of the most virtuous and successful drummers of recent years and it shows us the dedication and how to be professional. Thank you very much for these tutorials, they are the best just great.
Saved this video and your double bass video. This is the best tutorial I've seen for improving hand speed.
Thanks Eugene, I love your tutorial videos, they have a lot of informations and for me, is always GREAT!
EXCELLENT...nice to see a young cat that can be serious and focused without acting silly...just give me drum wisdom Usually I HATE electronic gear, but you make it sing!
this is the absolutely best video i've seen on the topic of fast playing (blastbeats, bombbeats)
Thanks Eugene! You are a big inspiration.

Just started watching your channel 2 weeks ago tried out your tips and already Ive seen improvement in my speed and control thanks for these amazing videos man keep it up!!
Glad they worked for you ;) Stay tuned for a new tutorial coming soon!
I really like your videos! It is starting to click for me I guess is the best way to put it. Thanks for sharing cause it has really helped me! \m/
This schedule really does help. I did it through every step and there is an incredible difference. You have to make sure that you will be able to do this everyday however for at least 2 months. If you skip one day, that is okay but you need to get back on it.
I’ve been doing these exercises for a couple months now, mostly focusing on wrists atm and it made a huge improvement on my playing. I’m starting to add fingers now.. can’t wait to see where I’m at in a year.
Already playin better and cleaner than ever. Thank you Eugene
how you doin now?
hows it going?
Eugene dude , your videos are excellent , thanks for your time , new sub. I play old guard black metal guitar , now learning Drums
Thank you so much for this video.
I used to be part of a Deathcore band a long time ago and could reach 240bpm. Unfortunately i had to stop drumming because of my studies and haven't been playing for a while now.
But this video definitely juiced me up to take drumming up again.
So from deep within my heart : Thank you.
Greetz from France

Eugene, you're Eugenius ! Thk you, Your videos help me so much !
Such a great tutorial man
this actually helped a lot..thank you for your videos.
Thanks for making such awesome videos!!!
Very great video, one of the best
Thanks Eugene for this video!
Fantastic drumming my friend. Thanks
Dude you've only been playing for 10 years? Holy shit
I guess that's what happens when you follow the regimen that he is recommending/suggesting.
Seriously! 10 years in the life of a drummer is nothing, but he's devoting over a weeks worth of work for an advanced drummer every single day for 10 years on top of his insane kick training regime. He devoted every day for 10 years, and it absolutely shows.
I liked it. Drums are really fun to play. :D
Hey eugene!
Youre the man 💯 thank you for your awesome Videos and amount of time you put into them. 🛸
Just started drumming.. this is so helpful!
Thx, Eugene, you're awesome!
Just watched a few of your videos and am excited to go give some of these practice techniques a shot tonight. Been trying to learn heel toe but it just doesn't feel right, I feel like the swivel technique you showed in your other video will work better once I get the hang of it. Earned yourself a sub 👌, crazy good control and speed man well done
This was pretty motivating wow
He creates the best online drum tutorials which actually help, who agrees?
Excellent teacher
Great job man...inspirational! Keep it up
Fantastic video, thank you.
Amazing video, thank you !

This video is the best best best tutorial! Amazing! Greatest thanks!
These videos are the best tutorials on youtube
My god, I am so gonna pull off my snare and cymbal pads from my roland kit and work on this. This is a great exercise, thanks for your knowledge Eugene.
Thank you for the inspiration!!
After watching your tutorials i started rethinking my practise routines and ways to learn to techniques, and never realised how resting the muscles is important. Couple of months have passed and came up with my own ways based on your routine, even thou my goal in speed is not that extreme but still, and have been making a lot of progress :) Hope to be able to see you with Fleshgod in October in Portugal!
Great video-Thanks!!
Dude i really needed this video
Excelente video. se agradece el aporte. tus videos han sido de mucha ayuda para mi.
Excellent video!!!!
Eugene, I had to learn all the muscles in the body and their attachments/motions, and I must say that your drum tutorials are the most detailed and effective for improve that I have ever seen. I had to work on assisting athletes to improve their skills or rehabilitation after injury and no one I have seen provides the systematic approach to drumming form and function that have clearly implemented while being able to articulate it to others. In the beginning, I was unable to implement a perfect routine for myself because I was unsure which motions and want muscle memory would provide the most beneficial impact on technique however, now, after watching your videos I have a much better idea. Thank you!
Wow thanks a lot for this comment. Feels really nice to read something like this! Good luck with your practice.
thanks for very detailed explanation, horns up !
thanks brohemoth! clear & concise tutorial🤘
Hey
Eugene, Just found your videos today and really appreciate your efforts and teaching style. Straight forward, No B.S. and you seem to be down to earth unlike some of the fart smellers out there that come off pretentious and tough to watch and subsequently learn from. Thank you my friend , I have subscribed!!
Eres mega increíble no puedo creer que no soy drummer y aún así entendí tan super bien.... WoW!... Cheers Eugene!..
