Excellent video! I’m actually going to do the reverse (wire a 4’ plug-in LED light to my wall switch) and was looking for instructions for that and this provides the info I need.

A couple of questions, was the portion of the light you drilled into plastic or metal? If metal shouldn’t you have inserted a grommet to avoid cutting into the cord? In either case should you have something like a cinched up wire tie on the inside of the case on the wire to provide a strain relief?

Hello, the drilled portion was metal, yes ideally if the cord is going to be moved around a lot and not in a fixed location a grommet or silicon used to secure the wire in place will also prevent rubbing by stopping movement.

As long as your wires are secured and twisted before you put on the wire nut you should be fine as long as you are not pulling on it a lot.
