    There's something very accessible about your videos. Probably my favorite painting channel right now

      I agree! Finally a painting channel that does not apply quantum physics to every light direction and reflection on the miniature while using 50 different painting techniques and 75 different colors on a 32mm figure. Best channel hands down.

    Great looking work. What are you thinning the paint with?

    The way you build up volumes with thin layers of paint and optionally tone down corrections with glazes is so neat. Greate technique for painters who struggle with learning volumetric highlights (like myself). Your explanation is accessible and that is helping me becoming a better painter myself.

    Thank you.When creating the "wash", is it Acrylic Paint and Water? any Mediums? cheers.

      just paint and water, different colors may vary the water to paint ratio depending on pigmentation

    Do you ever thin your paints with inks?

    • @resourcefulminiatures
      @resourcefulminiatures  6 месяцев назад

      no, allways with water. Only use black inks in particular for the deepest shadows of "black things" be it an armor, cloak etc..

    it's amazing how quickly acrylic washes just ruined all the work that you had previously done, and yet people still use them without even considering alternatives. it's astonishing. looks so bad, barely accomplishes anything, and there are such obviously better alternatives. exhausting watching so many youtube painters just do the same nonsense that other youtube painters do without any real thought.
