I am training a wild mustang for the farrier without any ropes. I train with respect for the animal. Not by putting the fear of God in them. Please understand that there are OTHER ways out there. This video made my heart hurt. I used to train horses using force, pressure, punishment, etc. I was trained by an old cowboy. It didn’t sit right with me. So I searched and searched for my own way. Words cannot even explain how far my mustang has come in 30 days and her accomplishments are done willingly. The bond I have with her and the trust is incredible. I urge you all to try a different way. Respect these amazing beings. Educate yourself on their psychology, emotional intelligence, etc. Partner with them. Remember they don’t owe you anything. Make training worth their while too.

Off-putting and a great example for bad horsemanship. that's how you train your horse to not trust you and it gets injured eventually 😔

Why not hold on to a lead rope so the horse doesn’t run around in panic? There was the risk of breaking that pastern with every step. The purpose of this is great but the technique used is far too risky.

Training's good...music is awful. No need for such "music".

You are correct! I don't know what I was thinking but that music is horrible. Thank you for your feedback. Cheers, Cheryl L. Winters

***** If you watch part two and see the transformation you would feel differently. Understanding these principles could save this horse's life someday.

You shouldn't feel sorry for this horse. He is in a safe place with a safe person learning a valuable lesson.
Feel sorry for the horses who are put down because they didn't know how to yield to pressure when they got stuck in a wire fence.

How do you make one or those ropes that goes on the hoof, is it a special knot?
