My goal is to communicate horsemanship tips clearly so that you are encouraged to go out and try these same principles with your horse. For over 35 years I have been dedicated to honing my horsemanship skills and to passing this knowledge on to others. Credentials extend from the rodeo arena and high desert ranches of the west to being a highly sought after trainer, horsemanship clinician, and expo presenter. My horsemanship journey includes: Horse Show Championship titles in the National Reined Cow Horse Association where I am also a AA rated judge. International travels include Canada, Australia, England, Mexico, Sweden, Scotland, Brazil, and Poland where I earned the European International Colt Starting Championship title. I was honored to have also won a Road to the Horse Colt Starting Championship. I am often told that my "Masterful Communications Skills" with horses and humans alike have served me well. Yeah I feel you need to learn when to stop. When the rope came off and you chased the hirse you trained to the horse to hate this interaction

Also, yours are not at the proper length, and for someone who is supposed to be knowledgeable, you're discrediting yourself. Thanks . So with the backwards motion, paying more attention to the front feet directing the circle and the hind will adjust to make the circle. Rather than asking the hindquarters to lead the circle?

Disclaimer: I am not a horse owner, but I'm wondering if there is any good, valid reason WHY a horse should not have hay available to eat all day (and night?) in one of these. Reason I ask is, my neighbor uses these, but says her horses cannot have hay available all the time or they will "overeat"?? SO, what happens is when the PG runs out of hay, the horses seem to really enjoy lifting up the inside bucket and then dropping it repeatedly with a loud bang. I suppose if you live out on a ranch with the nearest neighbor 500 yds. away or whatever, it wouldn't really matter. But of course, if the intent (from what I'm seeing) is to never have the hay run out, then it's not an issue...or at least negligible. I would appreciate any feedback on this, and maybe come up with some kind of solution...thanks!
We actually do keep hay in our Porta Grazers all of the time. It helps keep my horses from getting bored. They can eat at their leisure. I feed cubes morning and night for them to get their needed nutrition.
Her horse is too small for an adult rider. It isn't a pretty picture.
Mine likes to try to take the backdoor escape route, too. Glad to know that when I use the end of the mecate to close that I am using a strategy that has been used by others.

I am training a wild mustang for the farrier without any ropes. I train with respect for the animal. Not by putting the fear of God in them. Please understand that there are OTHER ways out there. This video made my heart hurt. I used to train horses using force, pressure, punishment, etc. I was trained by an old cowboy. It didn’t sit right with me. So I searched and searched for my own way. Words cannot even explain how far my mustang has come in 30 days and her accomplishments are done willingly. The bond I have with her and the trust is incredible. I urge you all to try a different way. Respect these amazing beings. Educate yourself on their psychology, emotional intelligence, etc. Partner with them. Remember they don’t owe you anything. Make training worth their while too.

The horses should not be ridden with an adult weight until 5 years old or so. That gives the skeletal system time to fully form properly.
Then kids should not be allowed to carry backpacks, or do any exercises. Yet, we allow it. It’s actually good for the bone development. Doctors say that as well. Same thing with horses. Unless you know the weight limit a horse can carry, know how much the horse weighs, know how much the saddle weighs, and the rider, shush your mouth. I know exactly how much they can carry. Smaller horses usually do get left alone until older because of their size. As long as the knee caps are closed, the horse is fine. The people who know to wait, do. And would you put a kid on a horse that’s never been ridden to train it? I’d rather get on and train the horse before I put a kid on it.

Where on earth did you hear that??It depends on the type of horse some mature earlier than others draughts and heavy bones horses tend to mature later but not always ... they should be backed with an adult when the VET says they are ready not some random guy on youtube. Don't be giving advice you have not worked for.
@@gerrycoleman7290 How in the name of god is a kid going to back a horse??? are you mental?? The correct time for a horse to be BACKED is when the VET says so or a good trainer. Horse breeds are different. Plus they need to be worked on the road between 2 /5 for proper bone development or you are setting them up for osteoporosis .. no good trainer would EVER say there is a blanket age for all horses...because there isn't ... they need to be worked differently. Just ask a vet for when to back your horse. You can have two horses and one can be ready at 5 the other at 2..
