- Season 04, Episode 117 (day twenty seven): sup crew! i picked up joe from the airport in the morning and we trekked up little cottonwood canyon to see if we could cop some storm leftovers! snowbird was still on hold, so we called an audible to check out alta again. after a 3.5 hour delayed start, we managed to score some fresh, soft snow for a solid afternoon of riding.

Huge props to ski patrol for getting honestly anything open that day. The deep upside-down (heavier on the top, light on the bottom) windswept snow looked really gnarly avy wise.

Love the video! My dad introduced me to skiing with a pair of $14 wooden skis back in’66 and I intro’d my boys to skiing in ‘96. We’re Alta-Holics. Hopefully they’ll have a chance to take their kids skiing one day. ❤

Skiing in Utah looks beautiful. Have a trip planned with the girlfriend to go to telluride in Colorado in March. It’ll be my first time skiing out west. Super excited to experience it

What a tiring but epic first day for Papa Joe…maybe he could’ve used some diamox before coming in. Should’ve taken Joe to Alta Lodge for a break…owner & and fam are from NY and operate it. Quite a few docs stay there to ski Alta and even got cartoons w doctor jokes on their message board LOL

I love that snowbird isnt opening so you have to go to alta😂 this is awesome (also i just bought a “the vision” sticker is it ok for the non helmet stickers to go on a helmet or will they come off easy
Ha! They should be good to use on a helmet! I just always recommend using heat to apply them so they stick well!

I have watched so many of your videos (and just became a subscriber). What I have always wondered is what you are skiing on there packed powder or was it powder? I am still not super confident skiing in powder. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get better at skiing powder?

@@LucasCatania17, please do , seems you have some exploring there too , chutes are great and challenging, but there is some great runs at Alta that do not involve chutes that are super fun to ski and watch .
