All Koreans have mandatory English classes in middle school and high school. English is also a part of standardized testing for college entrance in Korea. So, he probably didn't learn English solely for the Acolyte.

I still recall watching him for the first time back in the early 90's in k-drama "Sandglass". Lee Jung-Jae actually grew up in a neighborhood in Seoul where my friend lived and as a younger kid he always wanted to hang out with my friend (or so is what I was told by my friend). He's come such a long long way from those days. As a Korean I am so proud of his success. Looking forward to seeing him more in both Korean and non-Korean productions.
Such a lovely sight to see this beautiful actor on my screen. Humble looks but powerful actions, really deserves more recognition in the world so that others can see what a powerhouse this man is.

I guess you do get the sense that Lee is a very loveable and wholesome character just by his facial expressions, but as a Korean, I can't help but notice how carefully he chooses his words and how extremely well spoken he is when he talks. It's no secret that he was born in a pretty wealthy family, and so this video is the equivalent of a posh - but not in a bad way - Brit trying out and introducing some of the cheapest snacks of both countries. Quite funny in context. 😂
It's true that in Korea, they aren't used to pie with meat. But if I can relate to a "pastry with meat", the closest would be 호빵 (Ho-Ppang) or 찐빵 (Jjin-Ppang) where there are variants: one being sweet pastry (the filling is sweet red adzuki bean paste) and the other being savory (filling is like similar to Chinese dumpling or Japanese gyoza filling which they do use grind or mince pork as the ingredient)
🤣As an Australian, I felt so bad for him at the Twiglets. We play the same kind of tricks on visitors with Vegemite. (BTW, I have gotta find some Twiglets to try!)

i love snack wars but watchdd this primarily because i knew he learned English for Acolyte and was curious how good it was outside the amazing work he's done on that show. i dont know if there was a translator there for him on this but either way i am still super impressed. i didn't watch Squid Games but am very excited to see him in more after Acolyte.
