i watchted the first 2 eps so far and he is getting a lot of screen time
I am not american but just curious.. why do people say he is kind? to me he is just being normal.
Because Jedi are meant to be cool and detached. To them, attachment is just another path to the Dark Side. Master Sol (Lee Jung Jae), however, isn't like that. He is incredibly kind and clearly has a deep bond with Osha. She was more than his Padawan, almost like a daughter. @@Abkuyper

I was first introduced to Lee Jung-Jae through Squid Games and immediately was drawn in by his acting and his expressions. He has this charm about him that draws people in. He feels very warm and inviting and seems so humble.

The Korean interpreter made a mistake because Mr. Lee said that it was interesting that he got to make his own voice sounds when the light was off.
No, Lee said that it's interesting that he makes 'boom boom' sounds in spite of himself when he trains with the light-on sword.
@@futureright7 but the interpreter said that he makes the sound even with the light saber that doesn't turn on. He said that he makes the saber noise even with the light on. She misinterpreted.

I loved Lee Jung Jae when he did period pieces. I'm happy that Squid Game made him such a star internationally and that he's now expanding to sci-fi, but I really hope he'll go back to making awesome period movies again soon!

not a good interpreter. Lee said as a starwars fan he was unconsiously making light saber sounds with his mouth. where as the interpreter says he has to make a sound. poor translation
She had to interpret basically an entire paragraph instantly and from memory for every answer he gave so she’s doing fine

My favorite role of Lee Jung-jae was in New World! Love seeing any role he does.
I still remember watching him in the 90's Korean drama "Sandglass".
Jungjae said, 'When I trained with the light on the lightsaber, I strangely found myself making a 'boong' sound with my lips.'" (3:11) -With the light on the lightsaber, this might have made him feel more immersed in the role

How can he speak so good english on the show but not in real life???
Probably because he practiced those lines? He may not feel comfortable speaking in English. It's easier to speak and express yourself in your native language especially if you are not fluent in the other language that is being spoken.

The translator made a mistake. Lee Jung Jae said that he made the lightsaber sound when he was practicing with the lightsaber that has the light on, not the other way around. SMH

Lots of Korean actors/actresses who got a few valuable chances in America couldn't imagine the unbelievable moment in the US film markets like this. If they knew that, might've learned English communication skills to communicate with American celebs. Lee is one of them and he couldn't have imagined this awesome interview with Kelly in the US broadcasting program. But his communication skills would be better as time goes by.
Well, he is enough now.
As someone who watches Korean (as well as lots of other international) content... I wouldn't even dream of expecting those from other countries to learn English beyond a very basic level. Our actors in Hollywood have been marketing their films in other countries for decades and rely on global revenue, and yet, they can hardly string a single sentence together in the languages that they're marketing to. I don't see why the standards would change for actors from anywhere else. If I'm interested in media or an actor from a place that's foreign to me, then I'll gladly read subtitles or listen to an interpreter to understand them
@@balves2 While I wouldn't expect it, English is a very international language, so if you want to expand outside your country it's a great language to invest in learning.
well he could understand english he just doesn't speak that, as the intonation/diction would sound off and he don't want to delay the interaction or to cause any trouble in translations, that's better that he have interpreter with him to guide him, watch acolyte he could speak well, and let's not forget the fact that when you speak or made a mistake you'll get laughed up, US is toxic btw being asian is already a factor for criticisms in Hollywood market

He has been famous in Korea for many years. Kelly is so good interviewing international artists, but I wish she would have mentioned that. Many Americans wouldn't know that his career started before Squid Games.
